Reviews for Guitar Pro

← Back to Guitar Pro

Firsr of all, the soundbanks are horrible. This should have been the android version of the original gp7, but the soundbanks are like from gp5. Also you can't even view 2 tracks at once and the playback is laggy. You also can't write more than 1 track per file. Then what's the point of this app? I can do the same with the default notepad app. As much as I like the windows version, i disliked the android version. I am refunding this.

Naaagh, I love the PC program. Learnt guitar and wrote maaaaaany songs in a wide range of instruments but the mobile version is terrible. It won't give me the option to create a tab except if I'm connected to the WiFi (???) and the Settings menu is basically "Tablet mode" on or off. Once fixed, review will be updated. I cannot stand such issues in a paid app.

App is not designed to be intuitive and smooth for tab viewing, navigating or listening. Menus are clunky and lack features. Lacks compatibility with modern phones. Please redesign and update this app - it has never been worth the price.

Version 1.8 won't let me search my album which is frustrating when I try to go into albums and at the top of them, they won't let me open them. The update messed up the way I put my albums.

why can i only choose up to 9 notes when in notepad mode? how am i supposed to notate anything? ive gone through all the settings and cant find anything. i swear i could notate stuff on my old phone years ago. i want a refund. ive paid for the PC version, dont have access to my PC at this time.

very crashy. eg open a tab from a popular website? crash. I have to run all my tabs through a friends pc version of guitar pro to get downloaded tabs to work in the mobile app. when It works, its great, but thats not often (for my needs)

best app for practicing guitar, together with my headphone amp. I can stream the audio of the displayed tracks via Bluetooth, adjust speed, repeat specific sections and more. I'm really looking forward to the big new update with black background.

I used to really like this app but there are just too many issues with the notepad. For example> impossible to add multiple instrument tracks>if there are too many notes in a single bar, some notes will not play when exporting the tab file. Also, notepad files will randomly corrupt. Cannot add variable tempos or change tempos/time signatures throughout the tab.

Wish I could give it a 4.5 star rating. App is amazing, have used it for years to record riffs or ideas on the go or to practice songs while I'm away from my computer. Which btw their computer software of the same name is absolutely glorious and I extremely reccomend purchasing, I did several years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made in my musical career. The only reason I did not give this app five stars is because you can't do certain things that you can on the pc version

it's like they went out of their way to remove features that should be default. you can view the drum notation (or at least what they attempt at notating) but not the midi trigger tab view that you get on every other track? every sample cuts off the moment the playhead moves to the next note so cymbals are horribly choppy, and the responsiveness and interface aren't even on par with some free to download apps made by hobbyists. don't waste your time or money. Guitar Pro 5 was their peak.

Probably works fine with playing back tabs but as far as writing notes for a song from your phone, it's truly terrible. I'd rather fire up my computer and go in the other room than try and make "quick notes". Truly awful experience, guys. And I've been using guitar pro since GP3. Edit : wait, I can't even email my own notes to myself for use on my desktop? I'm doing a charge back. This is really, really terrible. Now it's 1*

A great tablature app for the aspiring guitarist on the go. Something I'd like to see improved are the sound samples because chords become far too loud and low notes are far too quiet, especially on 7 or 8 string guitar. A new sample library would really step up the quality of the app. The desktop version has decent samples, why not just port those over? Like my phone can play xbox games from 2001, I think it can handle some 8-bit sounds.

Needs Major Improvement. This app needs massive Improvements. The song finder is barely a least viable product. What instrument each score is written for is completely missing. The app doesn't login with long passwords, like you can on the website. The bass guitar audio parts are completely missing in many songs. The other instruments sound like a 1987 Amiga. You cannot set your instrument preferences for finding music. You can not search by instrument piece either. Grade D-

Such a headache to pick up and start writing. From the "scores" menu, if I hit the "+" it tells me I need to type something in a computer and the "notepad" seems to only utilize the first 9 frets of each string. If you're experienced in this program, give it a shot I guess, but if you're a noob like me and simply want to make tabs for material you've already written, this is more hassle than it's worth.

You guys need to update this app. Certain parts of songs where there is a duration of a note, sustain for long periods of time or indefinitely. I have to pause the playback on the tab to get the note to stop its duration. Its quite annoying as it makes the tab sound cheap or inaccurate when its not. When playing the same tabs, because there are many, on the desktop version of Guitar Pro this same occurrence does not happen. Other than that, the app is great.

Does the job pretty well. If you're familiar with the desktop version then you'll be right at home with this mobile version. You can view exported tabs from the desktop version or write new tabs straight from this app. The only thing I wish this app had is the option to have multiple instruments per tab. You kind of lose out on some of the song writing experience if you can only program in one instrument. Like at least 2 or 3 instruments per song in the "note pad" would really elevate this app.

Wow I cannot believe they charge for this app and I got suckered into paying for it. It is unusable. I have the desktop software and it's amazing but the app is horrible. The sounds are worse than an Atari system. There is no zoom so the font is super small and adjusting the font size doesn't do anything either. App doesn't support the embedded track that was used in the desktop to build the score. Also, what is up with the sloped bars connecting the notes? I want them flat like they should be.

The program has been having a lot of trouble playing files in the consistent tempo. It constantly goes into double the tempo or half at sudden moments, even though that was never programmed in the file. It's practically been unusable since the app went "blue". I cleared all data and reinstalled the files to clear all cache and stuff but it still runs horribly, ultimate guitar has a better app platform now and that sucks. It used to rule! Hope something can be done before I abondon this..

I wish there was a way to get my money back. I found that I could write tabs in the note section, which was the only reason I wanted this app. It was a relatively slow process but I got the whole song written out and the only thing to do with the tabs after that point is delete them which I accidentally found only minutes after finishing. Gone, no way to get them back, with just a light swipe to the right.

Very helpful with trying to learn a song. I have 2 suggestions that would help me at least. First, when the song is playing keep the notes being played in the middle of the screen. Sometimes they are at the very end and you can't see what's coming next. Second, the bass options are sometimes very hard to hear. Maybe that's just my phone, but other instruments are much easier to hear. Sorry I just thought of a third, when the phone is sideways you lose all controls other than play and rewind.
