Reviews for Hallow: Prayer & Meditation

This app is amazing. There is always so much unique content as well as new content being released, and the subscription is really worth it if you feel like the free app isn't enough. I wish the app were more intuitive to navigate, especially regarding downloads, series, and favorites, but in the meantime the search feature gets me where I want to go. As for the various problems others seem to have, I haven't had those... more problems with the paid version of Spotify than with this app, tbh.

Beware of Charge After Free Subscription! I got notified by after the charge was applied to my card and the cancelation process is confusing and terrible. I read that once the Subscription is up and the charge goes through that you can't get your money back. I already deleted the app, so this is very frustrating. $70 is a lot of money for something I'm not using.

I really liked the app. and the amazing ideas behind it. However, Im, at least for right now, in a position where I cant afford it (past it's trial period). There is content on there that I was very eager to access, that would have been super beneficial to me, but when I click on it, it's a paid only. that was very disheartening to me. Now don't get me wrong, I understand why apps such as these need to be paid. completely understand. I was just hoping for more access for the free portion.

Stop constantly logging us out of our accounts, please. It's super annoying to have to re-log in multiple times a month from the same device. Also, please include more in the free version. The price is too high ($50+ a year). The daily reflections were my favorite until you moved them behind the pay wall. And also please make it so when you download a prayer, you don't have to be connected to the internet to access your downloaded files. It kind of defeats the purpose of downloaded content.

The guided meditations are a good starting point for learning to pray but they're open ended enough to let you go on your own once you get the hang of it. The app has a ton of great mainstream Catholic resources, but could do better with incorporating the full role the Mass plays out in Christian spirituality. (I mean the Mass is more than daily readings: collects, memorials, and especially chanted propers) The design is also good, but it seems a bit busy and can be intimidating.

I didn't find the app to be helpful for me during the free trial period. I read reviews where people were charged even after following through with canceling their subscriptions. I canceled a month early, took screenshots, and emailed support to ensure I wouldn't have this problem. However, just like the others have said, I was charged again. What an aggravating experience. I signed up through the app. There is a "Cancel my Subscription" option in app, so why have it if it's worthless?!

Ok so the app is technically free, but the decided to throw a subscription offer right in your face when you first sign up which makes it seem like you have to subscribe. You have to click the "x" button in the corner which is hard to see if you're not looking for it. An easy fix would be to have a "I do not want to subscribe" option so people aren't mistaken into thinking this app isn't free. It's amazing what a little common sense would help so many apps.

Good app. I got charged thinking I canceled my free trail, got trial end on Dec 27th, I had to confirm between 5-7 times, if I was sure, before going to the google store to cancel a few more times, obviously I missed a step and got charged, I really thought it cancelled, I don't think I should have to convince anybody more than twice, that I would like to keep my money. I believe I had to click "unsubscribe" between 6-8 times across 2 apps. Honest mistake, that cost money, I can use elsewhere

I love this app! My only gripe is that on some of the prayers, readings, etc., the words of the beginning of sentences will be cut off. It sounds like the sound is cut out in between the speakers works to prevent background noise, but sometimes it's cut too long. For example the speaker will say "the word of the lord" but all I'll hear is "word of the lord".

This app makes is very easy to give time to God through meditation and other great voices sessions! I absolutely LOVE it. Someone down in the views said he had to click unsubscribe like 7 times? Not true at all, when I went to unsubscribe, it was very easy to find and it only asked me once, it only asked me "why" and had me choose from a list of options. I only cancelled because I couldn't afford it.

I loved the app, when it works, when you can get to the content it is terrific. Unfortunately this app does not seem to be written for the common man with average phones and limited data plans. If you feel you can justify spending on this instead of charities, it's for you. Both network and data restrictions and eating phone storage, I have to pass till they think of common man and end this trial.

I love the app. I took one star off, because it has one issue that irritates the heck out of me: it'll say that I have like 25 notifications. When I go into the app and into the notification tap, there's not ever a single one to be seen. Considering, that that app costs $67 annually!!! not just once, but annually, that pisses me off more than anything. An app that is that expensive should not have a glitch like that. I'm gonna stop now, because my BP is rising. If the content wasn't so good...

I really like this app (what I can see of it). Much of it is behind a paywall that is much more than I can afford living on a disability paycheck. I love everything it's offered for free and will continue to use Halo, but am likely to delete with time because I cannot afford to "pay to pray" at $69.99 annually. (Developers... doesn't that just seem wrong to you? I understand that you put time and work into creating an app... but the amount you're charging for full use seems really wrong to me).

I am so mad!!! I feel that the free trial is just used as bait to trap you into paying for a subscription that has no way to cancel!! Customer service is supposed to help but there is none! If there is no way to cancel a subscription does that mean they will keep charging me every year!!!! Oh and the best part I don't even have access to said subscription!!!!!!

Such a disappointment. TMI all at the same time and no starting point or guidance. I've spent my trial week trying to find out how to cancel. The place to click to cancel is grayed out and doesn't work. Plus, surprise, the free app is really $69.95 a year after a 7 day trial period, WHICH YOU CAN'T CANCEL. Run, do not walk to the nearest exit!!!

I downloaded the app, only to find out it wasn't for me. After looking around the app for a day, I immediately cancelled my free trial-the same day! To my surprise, I was charged the very large membership fee anyway when the free trial period expired. I reached out to customer service and they said they would reimburse but they didn't. I reached out again and they still didn't reimburse.

There is no better app for Christians. Even the free version of the app has a plethora of options for people to parse through at their leisure, and many of the devotions are enough to move you to tears. It's not only for prayers, though; within Hallow you can find music, homilies, bedtime stories, trivia, studies, and more. Download today - Hallow more than lives up to the hype!

I once had a paid subscription, but technically, it is flawed, so I discontinued. Nowadays, I stick with the free version. One example of the technical flaws: the app erased all of my journal entries. Another example: a downloaded or favorite clip (e.g., a song) from a playlist takes the user back to the entire playlist, not that specific clip, every single time. Again, I tolerate the issues with the free version, but as long as there are these flaws, I refuse to pay another subscription.

As smeone rediscovering their faith, this app has been remarkably helpful. Everything is set out and easily digestible bits and I can even schedule sessions for when I'm commuting to and from work which makes it really easy to fit into my very busy day. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to explore the faith more and deepen their connection with God.

Good But Buggy... I pay for the full version, and while the content is really good sometimes when I play it, and set my phone down to rest and turn off the screen. it just turns off and completely stops playing what I'm playing. also, I'll download something so I can listen without using data and it will still play it as if it was not downloaded, using data. I really enjoy this app, but I wish they would work to fix some of the smaller bugs that make it difficult to use sometimes.
