So here's my honest take on Hands-On Equations 2. I've tested a bunch of math learning apps and this one's pretty solid. The visual model really helps make the equations click, and the gameplay is actually kind of fun. And doesn't feel like a boring textbook. The difficulty ramps up nicely too, so it's good for a range of ages and skill levels. My only real gripes are the repetitive nature after a while and the nagging ads. But for a free app, it's a pretty good deal.

Description

I’ve been using Hands-On Equations 2 for a couple months now. It’s basically a math learning app that helps kids (and adults!) practice solving equations using visual models. Pretty solid app if you’re into educational games.

Here’s what you do: there are these pawns and cubes on a scale, and you have to figure out the values to balance the equation. It’s got different levels that get progressively harder as you learn new concepts. And there’s a neat feature where you can customize the equations – took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful.

Look, if you or your kids need some extra math practice, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ads can be a bit annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.

Lesson 14 video doesn't explain how to do the example problems. Stuck on example B.
