So here's my honest take on Handy Art Reference Tool. I've tested a bunch of drawing reference apps and this one's pretty solid. The 3D models and lighting tools are really useful for getting accurate hand and head references. And i especially like the ability to customize your own poses - makes it easy to find the exact reference you need. That said, the UI does have a bit of a learning curve and it can get repetitive after a while. But if you're an artist who needs this kind of tool, I'd say it's worth the download.

Description

Been using Handy Art Reference Tool for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that gives you 3D models and poses of hands, heads, and even animal skulls to use as drawing references. Pretty solid if you’re an artist who needs quick and easy pose ideas without having to awkwardly pose yourself in front of a mirror.

Here’s what you do – there’s a bunch of 3D models you can rotate and adjust the lighting on to get the perfect reference. And it’s got a bunch of pre-made poses you can use too. Took me a while to figure out the editing tools but once I got the hang of it, I was able to create my own custom hand and head poses. Super helpful for drawing studies.

Look, if you’re an artist who needs this kind of reference, you’ll probably like Handy. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want an easy way to get drawing references without all the setup.

Very good for reference. Paying extra for the female foot and animals skulls are totally worth it! I expected there to be full model poses for reference but those can...
