Been using HelloTalk – Learn Languages for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you chat with native speakers to practice languages like Japanese, Spanish, Mandarin, and a ton of others. Pretty solid app if you’re into learning new languages.
Here’s what you do: you can find conversation partners, send voice messages, and get live translation help. There’s also a bunch of language events and livestreams you can join – that’s pretty cool. And the app has tools like instant captions which make it easier to understand what people are saying.
Look, if you’re into learning languages, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ads can get kinda annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to practice with real people instead of just studying textbooks.

So here's my honest take on HelloTalk - Learn Languages. I've tested a bunch of language learning apps and this one's pretty solid. The community aspect is great - I've met a lot of cool people to practice with. The translation and voice features work well and make conversations a lot easier. But it does get repetitive after a while, and the free version has quite a few ads. Overall though, it's one of the better options out there if you want to learn a new language by actually using it.

Probably going to move to tandem or some other similar app. Used to be good, but now it's just become a premium scam and it's hard to meet anybody now....
No other app has given me access to native speakers of a target language! It's so easy to correct someone's writing in the app but I'm most interested in practicing...
