Love the offline maps, but when offline I cannot navigate to longitude and latitude coordinates. The error message says, "Need internet connection". Speed zones are great too. However, navigation likes the longer scenic route over the quicker shorter route. I would love to have the option to overlay weather info on maps too.

It's getting better and better. The only feature it does not have is multi-stop route. The other "feature" I don't like is, this app logs me out from time to time, and logging-in process requires you online, nothing is more frustrating when you are offline / get no signal and you need to access your collections! HERE WeGo, please don't do this and allow me stay logged in. EDIT: I hate the new version (4.2.x) with a passion! Changed 5-star to 2-star.

I use this on my Windows Phone and I can download maps without signing up. Why does it need personal info; name and birthday, to sign up for Android version? Update: Now the app seems to not need an account anymore. The problem this time is map download issue. It keeps saying I need to connect to the internet but I am connected to the internet. All my other apps can connect. Deleted cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, and keeps getting the same issue.

Can't recommend in it's current state. Used to be great for offline navigation in the mountains. Got a new phone and this new version downloaded to it. Constant crashes and hangups/freezes. Takes minutes at app start up(screen is frozen) to even navigate the app. It has gotten some what better. I can at least search offline now, but it crashes more than half the time. Will be looking for an alternative.

After using the Here app for years, I am completely disappointed in the new interface. I suspect it uses more memory than the last version, causing the app to crash on my basic smartphone. I enjoyed the simplicity of the original Here app which worked. Now, it takes forever just to load a single address, and I fear a search like "McDonald's" with many locations.

This used to be a great app. I have used it for a long time and only after this new update i am forced to use something else. In offline mode - 1) it doesn't search as good now. Says can't fi d go online! 2) it used to show 3 routes now only 1. Most times that is not the one i want to take; only way to get 3 routes - go online! 3) i had all offline maps they disappeared. Had to download them again. Now i have to find where the old ones are delete them! 4) map gets stuck or freeze a lot more....

It's slightly better than average especially considering it is free. IMO it is one of the best free navigation apps that work offline. However, directions sometimes are confusing and it does not have "junction view" like now defunct Navigon. The most annoying thing is that it cannot sort favorites by distance from the current location. This feature was available on Windows phones. How difficult would it be to have this on Android? For example, when I look at my shopping favorite group, first stores that appear are from a different state because they were the first bookmarked: favorites are sorted in the order they are entered and it is impossible to re-order them either by distance or in alphabetical order.

Installed in Truck on Android Radio... Haven't Updated in Over a Year. Works fine with no internet, but I keep the view set to 'night mode' to increase visibility in daylight hours (the high contrast view is much preferred). Four stars instead of five due to the potential for additional features. I like not having to update apps when they still function fine.

EPIC FAIL on first real tryout. I tried using it to get navigate a 38 mile drive on a route I drive almost daily. First, it skipped a useful shortcut I always take (originally found via Google Maps). A few miles later, defying all logic, this app directed me into a subdivision to a dead end - 22 miles from my destination. I can't imagine what it might do on a route I am unfamiliar with!

HERE is a shell of what it once was. For some reason, they decided to remove the easy to use navigation for a more complicated one. They replaced the isometric view that would show what's coming with a very limited bird's eye view. The great selection of voices (like surfer) have been replaced with a robotic one that always sounds annoyed. My wife and I used to recommend this to everyone. Now we hate it and are looking for a replacement.

Tested a 2nd time after a couple years. Bluetooth has improved. But still the maps only give directions. It does not show road closures, acting as if the road is open. I verified 2, 1 even after a week closure. Trip times do not account for heavy rush hour traffic. Instead only adding a couple minutes, not the near normal twice as long. The app is great at dynamic reroutes, but I have to run into the trouble first. It's better than paper. Support offered little at my report previously, soooo.

After using this app for a few weeks now, I want to rate higher but can't. I'm sending in my thoughts through the app's comments but the app just has too many issues. 1. when you stop directly under a stop sign, it says you are still 70 feet away! gps logging is inaccurate so you can easily miss a turn without knowing until it's too late. 2. map is too zoomed in, can't really see where I'm going especially in places I have never been. 3. inaccurate freeway names. 4. ditto for some routes.

This is not worth downloading. First, the app gives way too much info during navigation. Second, I never arrived at any of the destinations programmed. I always ended up stopping navigation at the destination with this app, still giving directions to the destination, never announcing, "you have arrived". I un-installed it. Got MapQuest instead. Works great.

This app is godawful! I almost got into an accident because of it! It freezes/glitches right when I need to make a turn, meaning I wind up missing my turn and then have to hope the app successfully reroutes me. It told me to go the wrong way down a very busy one-way street in an unfamiliar area at night (which was not labeled in any way indicating it was one way) and I didn't realize I was obstructing traffic until I hit an intersection and the signs and lights made no directional sense.

App is a great alternative to google maps IF AND ONLY IF YOU DON'T USE ANDROID AUTO. The Android Auto experience is horrible if you want to look at the map without navigation started. UI blocks half the view, cannot be hidden. If your car, like mine, had a physical joystick or knob instead of a touchscreen, then it's completely unusable (try to zoom in or out...). Had to uninstall and go back to the one and only google maps, which I'm trying to replace but nobody can compete with.

Works well! It sometimes sends me an odd way but so far that's actually worked out better than if I'd taken a traditional route. I'd much prefer side streets to being stuck in traffic on a freeway and so far this app has done a phenomenal job at respecting that. My only nitpicks are when I'm not using it to navigate. The map position in Android Auto is locked to North only, and the clutter on the map is distracting. That changes w/a set destination but I wish I could change it in map mode.

Absolutely fantastic, I switched after 20 years of using Waze as apparently Waze decided it's users didn't actually need to have any saved locations. HWG has been fantastic, I honestly only have one complaint. If I don't need to turn or take an exit . . . SHUT UP! I don't need to be constantly harangued to keep driving in a straight line or to "continue to follow the highway." I'm on the highway not turning, shut up and let me drive.

I used Saved places religiously in Google Maps and appreciated the ability to see ALL my saved places on a map, no matter the category. For example, I could easily see if one of my favorite stores was near a restaurant I wanted to try, even if they were in separate collections. I can't do this with this app, since it seems I can only view saved places on the map in one collection at a time. And it's frustrating that I can't add notes, since some locations don't have associated info yet.

At the very beginning I loved this app but the whole point of having a GPS through a map app is to get good itineraries. I used it for 3 months and realized it always gave longer itineraries than google maps. I don't like google maps very much but when I have to drive 20 minutes and 15km more for a 2 hours drive on HERE, I'll use google maps instead. It gets even worse when I do motorcycle itineraries avoiding highways. It once gave me a 4h ride instead of the usual 3h.

Love the data privacy! It's about 85% accurate on route suggestions and realtime traffic, speed limits, lane guidance. Good enough I've used it for >6 months. Show stopper is POI information. It's missing many POIs (vs Google or Apple Maps in the US) when searching by location names. Finding nearby POIs by general search (restaurant, ATM, bank) fails badly. Locations aren't found AND locations are shown that don't exist; these aren't usually due to change timing.
