Even though I paid to upgrade my access, I did not have any more designs to choose from. There aren't that many designs to choose from. In order for your guests to see *anything* other than who invited them, the event name, date and time, they have to download the app. That is 100% to the benefit of the App Creators and 100% a disservice to the user.
Reviews for Hobnob - Invitation Card Maker
← Back to Hobnob - Invitation Card MakerEasy to use. I love that people don't have to download the app to reply. The 10 invites per 30days is a little steep, but I paid to upgrade. Only 4 stars because I wish it was possible to make generic guest list to add to each invite instead of having to enter them all each time.
Got charged before the 7 days was up and it isn't a small fee either and it wasn't the amount that I was told they would charge it was $50.16 which I am now going to have to get back from my bank because they don't give you any option to contact them. PLEASE save yourself the trouble this is too complicated and way too expensive! Sadly my Christmas party invite had already got out UGH had to wait to cancel which was more irritating because I knew this company charges day 1! Not 7 as claimed
First time using this app and so far so good! I was tired of using email invites that half of the guests would ignore. I decided to give this a try because I figured people respond to texts quicker than email. And I was right! All the people I invited received the text invites with no problem, and everyone responded yes or no much quicker than thru email. Just wish you could send updates without having to upgrade. But good app overall.
Was a nice way to send out digital invites for my son's birthday party via text. Some people said the app wanted them to download the app to RSVP, which was irritating & confusing, since it didn't make everyone download it. I paid for the subscription for 2 months, then canceled it after the party. To me, that $8 was worth the easy delivery and management of RSVPs on my phone instead of the old school paper version.
People often do not get text messages. It starts out great, but then it will stop sending your guests messages unless they download the app. So, if you have a reoccurring event, then expect attendance to go down with each additional event. I'll be going back to evite to ensure people get the invite. I can't believe a good invite app does not exist.
Easy to use, great for invites and managing them!
Has a nice cool look, but isn't really practical and efficient. Some of my guest didn't get the text invites (which is very frustrating and confusing), and the guests who did RSVP did not get notifications of the time change until an hour before the event (I changed the time 1 month before). You can't place a cap on RSVPs and can't control how many +1s people may bring. Evite has more effective and numerous options for an event. Not worth the $4.
Great app, super convenient. My friends were impressed at how nice the invites looked. The pricing is better than some of the other popular apps out there. But I wish there were more templates to choose from. Also when I view my invite on the app, I don't see the same version that my guests see, which includes a link at the bottom the invite. To see exactly what guests see, I have to click on the invite link texted to me - wish I could just toggle to it in the app.
I like the idea of it, and that invites can be text based or in the app. It's nice to have an alternative to FB for event invites! My only issue with it is that it's so slow to respond! Every action seems to result in a 1-5 second sprinting wheel. The important info in a party invite is like 500 bytes, what is making it so slow? The slowness is frustrating enough that I don't use it as much and am not sure I'll keep paying for it
This false advertising this app allows you to create the invitation and send 10 invites for free but if you don't buy the subscription it hijacks your event before it takes place and makes it inactive until you pay beware I have to buy it now to access my daughter's birthday event because I'm using to to confirm the final number attending. Beware!
I thought Hobnob would be the best way to distribute text invites to a list of over 200 people. There were problems at almost every turn: from guest RSVPs to Sign Up lists to posting pics. There was the "we have xyz feature for iPhone but not for Android." I sent several emails with multiple problems I was having and got some troubleshooting responses. It is a quirky, problematic app that did not seamlessly deliver. The value is not worth a penny more than free. Plan cancelled. Try others.
This is such a great way to send out very beautiful invites, collect rsvp's, and for all the guests to easily upload the photos from there phone at the event and the app even sends them a reminders to do it. Love that! 💕 They get reminders of the event. Connects to gps for directions. And you can connect to your own personal link. It has everything and probably more that I haven't found yet. Highly recommended.😊🍭🎈🎁🍬
I originally rated this app a 5, but have sknce changed it to a 3. I have used it for free for almost 2 years with no issues. But with my latest invite, the app required me to purchase a subscription due to the number of invites. I thought maybe I had overdone the invites, but went back in my history and realized that I have invited well over 10 people (the supposed limit for free usage) for 2 years. Very disappointed to have to purchase a subscription to invite more than 10 people to an event.
I am starting to think that all positive reviews are coming from iOS users and not Android users. I downloaded the app for a largish event (50+ invites) and I have heard good things from iOS friends, so decided to give it a try and pay for Plus. What a mistake! Most of the features that are part of the "Plus" plan don't work on Android. Now I feel like a dunce! Other Android users beware!
Just joined and paid for the yearly fee. Sent out an invite and learning the ropes. Unfortunately there are help notes that say I can change a guests RSVP but it does not allow me to. I can only add as a co host or delete them. How do I update guests that just let me know?...Also I found the communities option (although in the help it calls it "spaces.") How do I move my invite into the community I created without having to recreate it? So far I am only partially impressed with the app. I plan on using quite a bit for our friends and family parties if it ends up being easy and convenient to use.
Positives, I could put in my own photo to use and the invitaion looked nice. The negatives, you can't message anyone through the app unless they download it and I couldn't send an invitation to one person. I contacted their support and they didn't get back to me until after my RSVP date and only after I sent another complaint in. And they didn't fix the problem, they just gave me 10 more invitations to use this month?! I did pay for one of their packages. I am deleting.
very hard to access complete info, and upoad pictures was not available to me until 2 weeks after the event. it's a good idea not a new one but very pretty backgrounds and fonts . Not responsive enough imo, but in the end it did what it was supposed to do, I was a guest not an event planner who used this app, but a guest it did gave easy access to see invite and confirm it was just getting pictures up loaded. asking the event leaders questions didn't notify any texts sent for questions , but app
When I first started using hobnob it was great. Setting up my invitations, and having the option to RSVP and customize the setting to how many guests can attend the event was great. Now that's not the case. When I try to update how many guests can come, the options are no longer there. Unless the app was changed and updated recently, I can't seem to find this option. Also, when I click on the "Help" option, nothing happens. Hopefully, this problem will be resolved soon.
Never had issues before. This was the only app I used, but this time, many technical issues. I contacted Hobnob, and they tried to help, but my issues are still not resolved. When guests respond, I'm not notified at all. When they message me, there are no notifications. I just message my guest and the majority haven't received it. Very frustrating 😕
