The hamburger menu won't close after being opened and I'm unable to interact with the app after that.
Reviews for Home Assistant
The only issue presented with this Home Assistant App was that it did not recognize that my HA Server is connected by wifi 7 network.. I simply looked up the IP address on my router changed the last 3 digits of the IP address on the connect screen. It then loaded in the blink of an eye.. No glitches nothing I'm happy with it.. Now about the PC version, I can't say that.. I would like to add that. I usually go with beta versions as a beta tester; however; With this App, no.
Amazing for free software. Not very user friendly, and definitely requires more advanced knowledge. Doesn't work perfectly and still not very happy about having to pay a subscription fee to access away from my home network but I suppose it costs money to provide that service... Although it would be possible to host on a raspberry pi and just not implemented
Great home integration software. steep learning curve. but worth it. takes home integration to the next level.
crashes if you add an integration. I spent all this time setting up a container and configuring things via web .... all for the app to crash
Enables you to have a single app to control all of your smart devices (and even the ones that you wouldn't mark as smart at the first glance)
First release without any bugs. But i feel bit difficult to scroll at custom components. Except this, everything feels smooth. Edit: (Feb 2020) app opens fast, but after using/creating automation editor, the screen getting very very slow and unable to save the automation with save floating button as it's not detecting. Edit: (2025) All issues are cleared and the app is so much matured and perfect in terms of features and functionality. It got too many features Android can possibly provide. ❤️
After some updates application started freezing. Sometimes it is on the logo screen, sometimes it is after logo screen with white background screen.
App is effectively unusable now. I've given up and use a shortcut to the web interface now. Despite emails and reddit posts about the problem, the app dev's just don't care. Such a shame as it makes the whole Home Assistant ecosystem look bad.
It has known, old bugs that waste battery and data in background. It does not work wan side when your server uses self signed https certificates.
