Really nice app for planning a room. Free version is useful enough for the average person, not all items are available but enough to give you a good idea of what your room would look like. I'd give 5 stars but the shopping list feature is buggy, it's not allowing me to uncheck items/ unchecked items somehow become checked again. Otherwise, it's a nice, user friendly, fun app.
Reviews for Home Planner: House Design AI
← Back to Home Planner: House Design AIGreat app but 90% of the actual good options require payment. That along with the majority of decent/high quality black & green items. (I'm sure other colours have the same problem but I used those two mainly) I couldn't get a single black bed or blanket that I didn't have to pay for. Everything else works well for the most part except bugs every here and there but overall helpful and great app for designing rooms/buildings/whatever else!
This app is awesome! However, the pro version is a bit pricey for someone who doesn't do interior design for a living and just wants to re model my house here and there. This app helped my ideas become a reality and I'm almost finished completing the first room in my house. Easy to navigate, good product selections and great graphics. It would be great to have more furniture selections for corners. I would definitely give 5 stars if they could come down on the price for the pro version.
Room planner is a good app, you can make and design what ever you want. You can do individual rooms or make a whole house! Even of you are not actually going to use the designs its like a game and its fun. There are lots of furniture to choose from including doors and decor. But there is the free version and the pro, u have to pay to use the pro which means u don't get to use all of the features if u don't have pro. Personally I use the free and there are a good amount of options to choose from.
I was using some sites/apps on my laptop for planning but ended up solely using this app. Love that you can resize everything-you're not limited to actual product sizes/colors. I don't need to see how an actual item from the Ikea catalog looks in my room - I need to see how an item *like it* would look, and experiment with sizes and colors. I rarely pay for apps but did end up splurging for pro version for a few months since it's so useful and I want to get the most out of it.
This app is a great idea but very buggy. I thought it wasn't adding some of the furniture because I didn't have the pro version, decided to pay for it, but nope, still doesn't add most of the furniture selections. Not only that, if I pick a pre-designed room, all the furniture disappear when I open the design to modify. Annoyed that I spent money which apparently is non-refundable, so now I have a month's subscription for an app that doesn't even work.
Really? This app is pretty much designed to sell Ikea products, but charges a subscription to do anything useful. That is a horrible business model. Get them in the door, don't charge for the tool to decide. You have to pay to input the length of a wall!! I have no idea what else you have to pay for, uninstalled at that first unacceptable pay wall.
After using it for awhile I realise it's pretty neat. It doesn't ask you to collect coins to purchase things which is super nice. You don't have to do tasks it's free design. The products are from companies which are basically used as ads and it's great because no video ads. The only real complaint is how the controls are just a little rough when moving around the house.
LOVE IT!! I am hoping to go to college for archetecture or work in interior design, and this is a perfect start! Even if you don't have pro, you have access to a ton of options, but one thing that should be able to do is change bedding color without pro and put items on the desks of loft beds. Other than that, this app is amazing!
This game isn't to bad, but most of the "good" furniture is money. It's hard to find furniture that matches each other and actually looks good altogether. You can't even choose to change the color of something to whatever you want unless you PAY! I would probably rate this game a four or a five if you didn't have to pay for everything and if it were easier to use. I'm uninstalling this app
good enough to get started but way too many BASIC features are pay walled. also, as of March 27, 2025, there is a serious memory leak somewhere in their cloud. if your account uses the app for too long (ie 3+ hours in one sitting), simple wall adjustments will crash the app. nothing to do with my device bc this happens even when I switch to my PC and use Room Planner via Steam - and only when signed into the same account. If I sign into a different account, the app won't crash.
The free version is laughable. They charge for the ability to accurately set dimensions for a room. There are preset dimensions that are odd and skip large sections. Want to make a 7x9' bathroom, too bad. I understand apps are not cheap to make, but this app is obviously working with IKEA and if you want to charge for something at least make it a bonus item, furniture skins, ability to export/import. Don't make it the absolute basic first thing a person needs to do.
Very unstable app. We buy apps because we love the free version. We don't buy apps because the free version is so messed up, that from aggravation we want the paid app, just to be able to use it properly.i really wanted to buy this app as I would use it a lot for work, but it is terrible in its free version. I would happily work with the developer to make this a great app.(also the paid version is rediculous expensive. You have to keep paying weekly, monthly or yearly? Crazy!)
Easy to use for a free app. Of course most of the finishes and wall treatments (stone, etc.) that I want to see are only available on the Pro version. I also can't split a wall horizontally or vertically, which is what I'd like to do, but it gets me enough that I can use my imagination to fill in the rest of what my basement remodel might look like. (Basements are also not one of the room choices on the free version, but it was easy to create from scratch.) Very easy to use and that's important
Controls were infuriating. It took me so long trying to just make the walls the right length. I wanted to make some blueprints to see how I could fit my furniture into a small room. I hoped I could just put in the dimensions of my furniture, but you have no choice but to use the furniture in their catalog as a marketing method. I feel like I was tricked into just browsing overpriced furniture. The worst part really was the controls though. I even tried using a stylus, but it was still impossible
Just trying a few diff apps. This one was the simplest and easiest to work on. Took a lot less time to put together than the others. No acct required. There are paid options for furniture but i did not need exact pieces, just general idea. I dont think it's necessary to go for the paid plan unless you need exact measurements. Lets you adjust size of walls, doors, furniture pieces, fixtures. There is a 3d jump into the room option so you can see it from more than just a 2d blueprint. Good app.
I actually really like this app, i even pay for it. however the features that I pay for have been moved up a teir. and are no longer available in the one I pay for. i believe that is ridiculous. you shouldn't do a cash grab when somebody already pays for and has those features. i would appreciate it if you could put the features that were available on paid program back to the tier they were originally on.
I wish there were an easier explanation on how to rotate, move, and change door positions... with symbols or something. But just figuring out things I thought it was pretty simple, but time consuming. Nevertheless, I did it. Still would like to setup a bedroom, add furniture, etc, without watching the videos. Other than that it's fantastic!
Fun app. I love playing with it and designing my dream home. It can be really glitchy sometimes though. It might duplicate something you didn't tell it to, place things in odd positions (like 1'7 off the ceiling when I specifically told it 3'), or randomly attach items so that they move together. Despite all that, if you are patient with it, you can make some really fun designs.
An amazing and best Home Designer app for DIY. Being able to choose real products and budget for customers is great. And an added bonus of a AI redesigner. The one thing that ruins it, is the subscription. I have the PC version and it's $50 period for the pro version. No subscriptions, nothing, $50 buys the program. It should be that way for mobile. Not $182 for 6 months!
