There is absolutely no reason for every f...g app on the planet demanding to create an account! Provide sufficient formats to im- and export data (csv, txt, xls, etc.) and a reliable, stable connection to the PC on the local network, that is all that is needed!!!
Reviews for Homer: The Home Management App
← Back to Homer: The Home Management AppApp is extremely slow to use and to add any details, presumably as it searches for manuals/logos/pictures. Good app in theory, a few tweaks would be ideal to speed it up.
Outstanding app. I've been looking for an app like this for a long time. Covers all the needs of managing your household, keeping home inventory and adding the many to do tasks that come with owning a home. Keep up the great work!
Pros: like having my info in one place Cons: interface needs tweaking, double typing; hard to locate what you have already entered, can't find a backup feature, support never got back with me re: inquiry
I am now able to organize my home, get more information about my household items through homer(manuals, links etc.) I can carry all the information of home and other household items with this app wherever I go. Previously, if I want to purchase something then I'll take a photo of the specification and then go. But now it's not really needed. Homer reduced my work on that.
This is a great idea! Very useful for keeping track of important dates, companies, warranties, and maintenance around the house. Nice UI, easy to navigate. One thing I noticed is if you add too many new folders in a row, the app crashes. Other than that, no issues
Really impressed. And such a great idea. Easy to use. My only wish would be for some sort of download/backup option. This sort of information you would want to keep for many years, and with the best will, is homer definitely going to be here in 20yrs time?
This app is awful. I opened the app today and all my rooms and all my folders are gone. I spent a week entering receipts, brand info and serial numbers. I had hundreds of folders and they're just gone. Don't waste your time.
I have to pay to set recurring reminders? My phone already does this for free.
Great idea, but more catered for USA consumers than UK. Also, when I scan a document, it takes a picture, and then the app shuts down. When going back into the app, the document hasn't been saved.
This app is great for keeping track of items around the house. It allows a good amount of customization for organizing information. Pros: they are able to upload manuals, pictures, and other info about my appliances, devices, etc. The files and folders are customizable, and includes the option to use tags. They have a task feature that has potential for PM reminders Cons: The navigation takes time to get used to. This is due to the flexibility of the data structure. Overall, a great product
customer service DO NOT respond..on weekends it says theyll be back on monday and even today (monday) it still says "will be online later today" and later never seems to arrive, chats have gotten ignored multiple times and the ai's responses have nothing to do w this app so its pretty unhelpful..so ill just ask my question here: How long does "fetching blueprints" take and whats included? its the reason i downloaded so id appreciate a response, cheers
1) Please add AR view for all phones so i can give you guys my money. It doesnt work for all phones and it sucks as i use other AR apps and it works. 2) If we could add pins/hotspots to images (of a room, for ex) to link them to items so we can see globally where things are on an image. 3) Need to add a way to smart control your home from this app 4) AI seach to search anything like for example :where did i put my concert tickets? and it can tell you based on notes, images, etc youve added.
Homers website description for my commune (clearly very aggressive SEO) suggests an almost automatic workflow to fetch drawings. this workflow did not exist or appear in the app anywhere I could find, and when I made the effort to find the information manually on my communes website there is no suggestion of them working with homer. Wasted half an hour of my life. Also, app falsely claims to know warranty period on items in my house which I did not consent to share info about.
Do not recommend. Wish I used it during free-trial instead of after annual payment. Concept is great but the execution of the app failed on many levels. The AI from visuals is brutal. I went through and added every appliance in my house, pressed the incorrect button, and it was all gone. Started to re-add and hit done after each, the app struggled to find appliance information and translate serial numbers from photo to text. I ended up giving up after 2 basic appliances.
Easy to use and track everything in your home. We hate papers and love that we can store manuals to everything in this app. We also have a thousand different filters in our home from furnace to water systems; this is a centralized location for the entire family to reference what's needed (you can even drop links) to replace those and many other items. We are also no stranger to home improvement projects and cant tell you how many times standing in the hardware I pull up the app to save the day!
A great concept, I wish it would have worked better. The app takes a while to load, which is fine, but then I can't add tasks to rooms and the "how to use our app" pop-ups are disruptive and aggravating to the point where I can't even use the app. And then when I finally get something to work, the app freezes. So frustrated, I uninstalled after a day.
The concept is great and the interface is easy to use, but there are major bugs. Adding brands and serial numbers is easy sometimes, impossible others. In one instance, I spent 10 minutes entering info about an item, and the app failed to save it. And does not give me the option to start over - there is no way to enter brand/serial/model number after the one prompt you're given when the file is created
The way that this app works is perfectly compatible with the way that my brain organizes information. However, there are a few areas that could use improvement: - when writing notes, typing could be more user friendly and intuitive - app doesn't allow the same folder name to be used in multiple rooms. For example: can't have a folder named "projects" in every room that I have improvement projects in - You can copy the text of a file, but it won't paste with proper formatting, and I can't fix it
I actually really love this app, it's a killer idea and execution is 9/10. Being able to keep track of all our stuff in a highly organized manner is miles above an excel sheet. The only thing that worries me is, I'm afraid to get too invested (emotionally and financially) into this app. I want to buy premium but I've been burned before by other apps only lasting another year after paying. how can I be confident that this app will be around for the next decade?
