Here's my honest take after using a bunch of calendar apps - Howbout is probably the first one that doesn't feel like it was made for scheduling business meetings. I've found it's actually pretty great for casual stuff like organizing game nights or weekend hangouts. The social features are what make it stand out - it's like if Instagram and Google Calendar had a baby.

But real talk: while it's great for social planning, I wouldn't use it for work stuff. And sometimes it feels a bit TOO casual, you know? Like, I wish it had some more serious planning features when I need them. Still, for what it's trying to do - making group planning less of a pain - it's doing a solid job.

Pros

  • Super easy to see when friends are free without asking
  • Actually makes calendar stuff kind of fun (never thought I'd say that)
  • Color coding is really well done and intuitive
  • Way better than endless group texts for making plans

Cons

  • Kinda useless if your friends don't join too
  • Missing some more serious calendar features
  • Can feel a bit too cutesy sometimes
  • Takes up more storage than you'd expect

Been trying out Howbout for the past month or so after seeing it everywhere on TikTok. It’s basically a shared calendar app, but way more social and fun than your boring old Google Calendar. The interface is super colorful and it’s actually kinda enjoyable to use – which is weird to say about a calendar app, right?

So here’s what you can do with it: create events, share them with friends, and see what everyone’s up to in this really clean timeline view. You’ve got these cool color-coding options for different types of events, and it’s pretty easy to coordinate hangouts without the usual back-and-forth texting. Plus, you can see when your friends are free without having to ask them fifty times.

Look, if you’re someone who’s always trying to get your friend group together (and failing miserably at it), you’ll probably dig this. It’s definitely aimed at the younger crowd – like college students and young professionals who actually have a social life to manage. Not gonna lie, it took my friends a bit of convincing to jump on board, but once they did, it made planning stuff way easier.
