So here's my take on the HP 12c Platinum Calculator app. I've tested a bunch of finance and accounting apps, and this one is pretty solid. It replicates the functionality of the original HP 12c calculator really well, and the interface is intuitive once you get used to the RPN entry. And the calculation tools are robust and it's super handy to have this kind of power on your phone. The only downsides are that it can feel a little cramped on smaller screens, and the learning curve is a bit steeper than some other calculator apps. But overall, if you need a capable financial calculator and want the convenience of having it on your mobile device, this is a great option.

Description

Been using the HP 12c Platinum Calculator app for a couple months now. It’s basically a mobile version of the classic HP financial calculator that a lot of business folks and students use. Basically gives you all the same features and functionality as the physical calculator, just on your Android phone or tablet.

There’s a bunch of useful calculation tools – you can do stuff like figure out loan payments, calculate net present value, internal rate of return, and all that finance and accounting stuff. It’s got the same RPN entry system as the original too, so it’ll feel familiar if you’re used to that. Took me a little while to get the hang of it, but once you do it’s pretty straightforward.

Look, if you’re someone who needs a powerful financial calculator but doesn’t always have the physical one with you, this app is worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the layout can be a little cramped on smaller screens – but overall it gets the job done. Definitely a useful tool to have on hand.
