An amazing app for last three years - - until October 18th. Auto-tracking by Bluetooth quit working. Now I got to figure out all my mileage since then until yesterday. Very frustrating. Nothing has changed (phone, car, etc). I've deleted the Bluetooth profiles and reconnected them to no avail. 😢 Now, I'm paranoid it's not working and checking it constantly. If not fixed very soon, plan on uninstalling and switching to a different one.
Reviews for Hurdlr: Mileage, Expense & Tax
← Back to Hurdlr: Mileage, Expense & TaxI love this app. For the small business, cash basis contractor (Avon lady), this app makes it so easy to track my cash receipts and expenses electronically. I can also track my mileage.I use the free version so I enter everything manually, but there are some more automated options that others can pay for. Then I just found out today that I can hit a button and have my information exported into a tax software program! Finally, it is so easy to chat with the apps' owners when needed.
Have learned today from Hurdlr support team that the milage tracker does not work on OnePlus (OP) devices and its customized version of Oxygen OS. I wish I knew it before purchasing the app and I hope this review is helpful for the OnePlus owners who were planning to buy this app. I have also learned today for the first time that the algorithm that Hurdlr uses to pull transactions is activated every 3-5 days. This is an information for those who want to snap the receipt and append it to the transaction right away. This review and rating address these two particular aspect of the app and dedication of the support team to resolve it. There are many things that I love about this app and the customer support, but cannot enjoy, because my $1,000 dollar device for some reason cannot accommodate the app and/or the algorithm does not pull the transactions fast enough (at least within 24 hours).
Auto mileage sofar is 5.5miles off and I have only used it for almost 3hrs. Best to manually do your mileage. Or do it like stride. Start stop counting. Easier way to import from other apps would be nice. Such as duh, stride & unknown what else. They annoy you with nonstop messages atleast during trial. So I can not see going any further with this. All messages come when your trying to sleep.
I drive and shop for Shipt, and needed something to take the anxiety out of making money and tracking my taxes and expenses. Trial period very fair to ascertain if this would be the program for me, plus there is a discount on your first year if you shop with Shipt! Live chat feature was AMAZING. I got all my initial questions answered quickly by a real human, and signed up for my first year right away. I suggest giving it a try!
Other apps Charge for a product that is inferior to what this app includes For Free. But do yourself a favor: get the paid version and thank me next year at tax time. I love not having to worry about all the numbers and knowing that it is always up to date. (If you can just remember to swipe left or right on a daily basis.) Bookkeeping for a solo-preneur has never been simpler!
pretty useful, over all one of the best bangs for your buck if you need a decent mileage tracking app as a sub contractor. expense tracking is also pretty good. it would be better if you could make your own custom categories, and hide categories you don't need, it's a little bit slow and clunky because you can't hide expense categories. but again overall for the price tag, pretty darn good five stars.
I've tried many different apps and software related to mileage tracking and automated accounting. this is hands down the easiest, most effective one as of right now. I was a quickbooks and Zoho user for years, and this is much better...plus the mileage tracking is cherry on top! Additionally, the integration with banks and other apps such as Square is seamless. Thank you!
I didn't want to pay a fee for tracking my mileage, until I tried Hurdlr free for 5 days. And, I really don't know how I would've gotten by without it! It not only tracks mileage, but other expenses, like gas and cell phone bill. Plus it tracks income and actually tells me exactly what I currently owe in taxes. I love this app, and gladly paid the fee, which is very affordable anyway.
If you are looking for a free app to help keep track of mileage do NOT choose Hurdlr. I have been using Hurdlr for about 10 months. This was my only method for tracking business miles. Then recently I was told that in order to continue I need to pay a monthly fee! Nothing like getting you to use the app and then deciding you need to pay for it in order to finish out using it for the year.
Loving it so far, simple to navigate once you get the hang of it. I currently am tracking for three business and it is simple to differentiate between them. Also my subscription is included in my home based business, what better way to save on paying so much taxes on my income than to track deductions and simply hand the report to my tax guy.
This is one of those apps where if you are self employed or are a business owner, side gig-er, contractor- whatever, don't use the free version, just bite the bullet and buy the full version of the app. The version I'm paying for is in the ballpark of $120 a year (10$ a month when you break it down) if you need to go through an audit, or come tax time this app is worth all that and more. Hurdlr is on of my most important tools to keep me focused on work and not wasting time keeping records
Very convenient. Just set it and forget it, and it will keep track of all the expense info for you, whether it be mileage or monitoring your bank and credit cards for potential business expenses. It's better suited for the self-employed individual than the bigger name apps like Quickbooks. It's simple to use, yet expandable for when business grows. Highly recommended, especially for self-employed drivers.
In free mode no report for manual milage tracking. In response: Yes, it did generate a report at first, but after a while I could no longer see reports for my recent trips that I tracked manually with Hurdle. I'm not sure what caused the app to behave this way. Although I believe the app could provide comprehensive data, the interface and navigation are far from intuitive.
I would give a zero if I could. Bad app and bad company. I have followed all instructions to have this app work properly and it still randomly stops working. Thought i figured out a work around but that doesnt work anymore. Last time i contacted support they read it and never responded. Do not trust that the tracking is auto, it is not. Used to be, but hasnt worked reliably for me all year.
I have been using the app for several years. It works great and I think it does its job very well. one suggestion I would have is add the ability to have the miles starting at the beginning of the year and end of year be available in the vehicle mileage reports. accountant needs both for their tax stuff.
this program is a really good program for small businesses and individuals who want to Monitor and control their finances. I say this because when the software works it is really good. however, when it works. the app continuously loses integration with bank accounts and therefore stops updating your expenses and your deposits. this happens numerous times throughout the year and when technical support figures out why it's happened you now have to go back and redo the entire Year's worth of expens
I think I was automatically put on the pro plan when I used them to file taxes, but didn't realize that that automatically put me on a more expensive plan. Also, the mileage tracking rarely works for some reason. And I've lost thousands of miles. Finally, the software doesn't automatically input everything into the tax software, so you still have to go through quite a bit. Some of which is difficult to understand.
I only use hurdlr for mileage tracking. It starts tracking at BT connection to the vehicle. Having more vehicles to track also works. However, recent updates have caused it to not fill in the default vehicle or any vehicle. It also no longer uses the list of vehicles. TECHS CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE IT OUT. So I have to review each record each day to fill in this missing information. I haven't found another app that will start tracking from a BT connection instead of movement or I'd try it.
I am very impressed with the software so far. the integration is good, but has proven to also be challenging. In some instances the data is lumped together. Which is no big deal except it is difficult to trace where the info was pulled from. the mileage tracking is awesome!!! also I like being able to slip transactions between personal and business
