Reviews for Hush: Android Auto Audio Fix

← Back to Hush: Android Auto Audio Fix

Absolute legend. Saved me from pulling my hair out, that I couldn't stream music and use GPS at the same time in my new car. 5/5 all day long. Had me laughing so hard in amazement that it finally works.

This app really works and is a profound accomplishment to deliver us poor souls from Toyota's ineptitude. (Why can I not just play YouTube audio without the need for this app???) Anyway, it works perfectly in a 2023 Prius LE! THANK YOU DEV. I was, for really, about to buy a ****ing iPhone and you saved me from the Apple hellscape. Much love.

Absolutely brilliant! Been battling this problem for 4 years! No more having to manually dismiss the YouTube Music queue every time I want to listen to anything else. God bless you for this app!

FINALLY! This solves the ANNOYING problem with the Mazda 3 where adjusting the volume (using the car's volume knob) stops YouTube playback and switches to YouTube Music which then blows out your eardrums. Worth every penny! I have been submitting feedback to Google and looking for a fix for this for nearly 5 years.. Google never responded or solved this issue. Thankfully this app provides a great workaround.

It really works. I was not able to adjust volume for Fermata Auto in my Toyota Camry because it would automatically resume Spotify every time I pressed volume down or up. With this app installed I'm able to do it like in every other "normal" car.

This app works perfectly for solving the issue I have with Android auto in my Toyota stock head unit. it stops the autoplay feature of your most recently used music app. when changing volume. this is helpful. when I try to watch something on YouTube and stops it from reverting back to my music app. it also doesn't pause my video when changing volumes.

Not being able to control YouTube volume was driving me nuts! With this app, just set it once and forget it. I think technically you could do the same thing with a silent Spotify playlist, but I find this more convenient. Worth every penny.

Great solution to fix "Audio Paused" issue in Toyotas when running Android Auto and listening to audio in a non AA app. I like to watch videos when I'm sitting in my car on breaks and I was unable to change the volume unless I opened Spotify and played music and then went back to my video. Well worth the $1.50!

A hidden gem, found out about this app on reddit, my toyota rav4 would always start playing another audio source when i adjusted the volume. This little app runs on the android auto infotainment system and gives a silent audio stream priority., while allowing normal use. The only change I'd like to see would be when an incoming notification sound pauses the audio it doesn't restart on its own now, maybe add an option to only allow resume current audio source.

Fixed my audio issues! Thank you, you are a godsend!

the app works, it lets you change the volume in your android auto if you are using YouTube or some other unsupported app

Genius. I'm driving a Corolla rental and I'm not used to Android Auto, it's a pain in the A$$ and this app just saved my ability to stay sane on the road. Thank you!!!

works perfectly. worth the $2, been looking for a fix for years. make sure to read the instructions for how to use it

Recent Issues with the app. First off, love the app, it's solved a big problem with the Toyotas. I'm not quite sure what happened, but mine has all of a sudden not worked right for the last several days, the silent track keeps pausing repeatedly, and I keep having to reopen the hush app and playing again every few minutes. It's pretty frustrating, but the app was made to fix a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place so, definitely not Hush's fault, lol.

Just what I needed to listen to YouTube audio in my Tacoma on Android Auto. If you are listening to audio from your phone, like YouTube, and you adjust the volume, Android Auto automatically starts the last audio it played. Often at a very loud volume compared to YouTube through your phone. it blasts out loud enough to startle you. THIS APP FIXES THAT. IF YOU HAVE A TOYOTA AND ANDROID AUTO, YOU NEED THIS.

I'm so happy I found this from the clublexus forum. I want to cry. I was originally able to play audio by using the Sound Assistant app to tweak Android's settings to allow multiple audio sources to play at once, then I would just play a silent track on Spotify. That worked for a few months then randomly stopped working recently. This seems to do basically the same thing except way better because it automatically resumes.

Incredible!!! This solves the MASSIVE issue with Toyotas where you can't control the volume on non Android-Auto apps as it essentially tricks the system into playing a silent track but other audio still works during that, for whatever reason. However, you can not pause the streaming audio from your car and if it disappears from recent (due to toggling between actual AA apps), you need to reinitialize the app to get volume control back. This seems like an AA and Toyota glitch, though.

Exactly what I needed. I like to play music from YouTube via Firefox, but couldn't adjust the volume with my car's volume buttons (because, like, why would they ever let you adjust the sound playing through your car's speakers if it's not a paid Google app?). Downloaded this, started it on Android Auto, and can now play music from my phone and (gasp) turn down the volume. Happy to pay $1 to a developer who understands users' needs.

I had to restart my phone before this appeared in Android auto. if it's not showing up, restart your phone. This is great and well worth the price. I have been searching for something like this and even resorted to asking Chet gpt for a solution. I just knew somebody must have invented an app for Android auto that would be a fake audio stream. here it is! Now I can turn the volume up and down for apps from my phone without Android auto hijacking the audio. kudos to the developer.

Finally a solution. This app should've never existed. Because it's bonkers silly that people have this issue to begin with. And for years no one on the Toyota side (seems like this is mostly an issue with how Toyota coded Android Auto) never bothered to fix it. Likely because they think there's nothing to fix. But it's silly to be so narrow minded and not think of countless situations where you should be able to control the volume without an active AA source. Thank you for coming up with this.
