In a world so full of so much negativity, meanness, and self image obsession. It so nice to have a notification on my phone 🤳 creating positive thoughts and inspiration. I have only had it a day. but I already love opening them. Also great for inspiring and building up others. I do wish the monthly was cheaper. I know the 1 year is very reasonable. I just want to make sure I want to commit to a full year. Thank you creators of app for the kind uplifting words
Reviews for I am - Daily affirmations
← Back to I am - Daily affirmationsGreat app, but I believe I have triple paid. I had a year subscription, but then it got changed to monthly, and I canceled that. Then I went yearly. There is no way to restore my account. So, when I changed phones, I had to start all over. Also, in the past, it saved all of my affirmations, whether I clicked on them or not, from my notifications bar. Now, it doesn't do that. I love the app, but too many flaws.
I truly do like this app, but... It's a pain to lose all the saved affirmations when you change phones or have to reset your phone or have to make any changes to your phone that impact app memory. The app developers *really* need to set up clould storage. In this day and age, it's absurd to pay for an app that doesn't save data. I guess that makes me absurd. I'll likely bump this review up should the developers add an option to retrieve saved affirmations.
The number of ads makes the app pretty unusable. Some ads are understandable, and even small banner ads would be better. But today, while trying to read 1 affirmation on the site, 4 full screen ads, the ones that you have to wait a few moments before you can dismissed, popped up. Definitely does not make me mindful or relaxed. The widget is the only way to use this app, which is a shame. It seemed like a pretty app.
Kind of annoying that some statements can easily be converted to "I Am " but they use different words instead. I AM is more powerful. For example, to day I received,"All things are unfolding as they are supposed to." Could have easily said, "I Am aware that all things are unfolding as they are supposed to." It's easy to stick to the I Am style affirmation but they choose to veer off when it's not even necessary to make the statement.
So you can't even do the 3 day trial without a payment method, fine, I bet their banking on people forgetting to cancel. But they try running your card for the subscription amount before it even let's you continue. Not only that if I'm going to pay for an app I don't want to be seeing ads. Also, at the bottom of the screen where it tells you the price it's all overlapping so you can't even read it.
The affirmations are great, and I like the reminders, but the app has a few bugs, the biggest being that the streak counter glitches after the first couple of weeks. There is no longer a counter monitoring the number of affirmations per day, and it reads a 24-hour period as two days. I also wish there was a way to say no thanks to the affirmations with a name in them as they're grammatically awkward and a tad annoying. A fun free app, but with these glitches, definitely not worth paying for.
UPDATE: lowering rating & uninstalling. They decided to insert ads in between affirmations, so those of us who don't pay now have to suffer through insanely *loud* ads in between each affirmation, very counterproductive to something that you use when trying to be calm. I love the affirmations, and the app itself. I think a subscription is asking way too much for it though. I can see it being worth a one time purchase, but needing to pay for it continually is not what I would call fair.
This is actually a good app if you like positive affirmations. However I've had this for probably 2 years now and they are finally starting to make it so annoying to even have the app I'm ready to just delete it. I have the free version because why would you pay for the paid version when you can just use the free version. Last month I started getting ads every single time I opened the app to save an affirmation. And now this month I keep getting collection pop-ups. Like honestly bug off
I LOVE THIS APP! My only suggestion would be to allow us to upload our own background images and also to allow us to "heart" a new favorite on the widget, without it opening the app. Edited to add: I wish there was a way to sign into your account to save your favorites. I switched phones recently and had to start fresh. Also the custom background/text isn't working in my widget. I set it in the app and the widget remains pink with black text.
Good idea in theory but in execution it sucks. I paid for a year and that's when the problems started. Randomly it will decide to stop sending push notifications so I don't get the affirmations. I go in to tweak the settings to try to get them to return but I can never figure out what fixes it or not. the notifications may return for another few days but then they stop again. It's frustrating, unreliable, and too expensive for what it is. Overall a waste of money.
Good app that I use daily. but limited. I can't change the name of my collections, although it says I could. I can't add an affirmation to more than one collection. Can't resequence the affirmations. basically, it makes it hard to organize your affirmations. which is why I needed an app in the first place. oh and it'll randomly let you choose your own music, but there's nothing in the settings to find that option again. really annoying since I paid for this.
This app used to be very useful. I even suggested my therapy clients use it. But now the ads have made it unusable. I've gotten ads that last a whole minute before you're back to the actual app and then the app prompts you to upgrade to premium to remove ads. As useful as the app is, it's not worth paying. I'll just switch to something else.
Reading my daily affirmations has made such a difference for my mental health and overall well being. It does change the outlook for the day if you start off with positive thoughts and some calm. I also use apps like calm at night to fall asleep better and I find it to be quiet helpful to use them together. You can check it out before subscription which is great
it was ok for a while, as a non-paying user. i can't access all the backgrounds (although i am positive there were more before,) i can't access all the categories, but it was fine. idk what happened, but they did an update and now every time i take a screenshot- for my own use, mind you - it freezes and i have to close the app. which prevents me from using it. like ever.
UPDATE 5/26/25 - I was able to find the section for "add your own affirmation", as well as "history". The new update is nice, but confusing without directions. If you tap the 4 squares at the bottom on the left, it will take you to the categories (first row on the top of page). It's no longer called categories, so that was a bit confusing. However, just swipe to the left or right and you will see all the tabs that were there in the previous version. Thank you Monkey Taps for helping me!
it's difficult for me learning consistency at a later age (31). I am. and motivational.me app makes it easier. whenever I think about dailing down, a quote pops up on my phone to remind me why my goals are so important. it works. from the benevolent reasons all the way down to the superficial petty bs. lol it works. and I'm still using the free version. I'm glad I found these apps for sure.
I used to love this; however, this last update has been disappointing. I used to be able to use the practice feature, where it read affirmations for a timeframe like 1, 5, or 15 minutes. I used to always do my favorite for 15 minutes. Now, once it finishes my favorite, it goes to a random one I never saved or even heard. Plus, it doesn't read automatically anymore; you have to press for the next one, which it never did before. This sucks because I used to love using it at night b4 bed.
I love this app and use it every day. It includes a wide variety of types of affirmations, including short ones, 'You Are' statements, affirmations for specific focus areas, e.g., anxiety, confidence, depression, motivation, etc. I had to play around with the backgrounds and fonts to find my favorite. Many fonts were hard to read for my older eyes, but I found one that works for me. A wonderful app if you want to improve your self-talk.
You can't silence notifications. The affirmations are great. Unfortunately, it won't shut up. It is preset with a lot of notifications, which would be fine,if they were silent. For the past few days, I have been diligent in making sure every notification was silenced. Yesterday not only did I make sure multiple times that every notification was silenced, but when I received an audible notification, I turned that notification off. Today I have 5 more audible notifications. Deleting app.
