scanner bugs out and database missing a portion of my comics, but overall a great app and the only free scanner database I've found. only thing I would add is the value to the comics.
Reviews for iCollect Comic Books
← Back to iCollect Comic BooksFast, versatile, and easy to use. Very thorough on the kind of information you can include. Absolutely worth the money. Looking forward to getting the Windows version too!
very good app. wasnt expecting the 15 comic limit for free use. that should be somewhere in the description so we know. that being said I did buy the full app and am very happy with it so far.
every single one of the images are broken no matter how many times I reload or open and close the program. Nothing works. this WAS the most amazing app, but it literally just started doing this. and then the app had the audacity to ask me to review it, so I'm giving it a 1-star until they fix it.
Does exactly what I want, which is to keep track of what comics I have and what I'm missing. The images are especially important because some comics these days are coming out with multiple covers on the same comic.
Great app. Export to CSV supported. Currently missing only search with multiple criteria e.g series + collection. This is supported in Sort & Filter customization but not in Direct Search (or I don't know how to do this). But again great app.
I love this app. My family collects comic books and I have been looking for an app to keep track of them for future purchases. This app allows me many ways to search for my comics. It is also easy to add comics if they are not already in the data base.
Not great. It won't let you add complete series, only individual issues. The free version will only let you add 15 issues before you hit the paywall. And it ain't cheap.
Have been sorting and adding my collection in this app constantly, for some reason on certain days I'll load up the app and things in my collection will be missing or changed such as covers or titles. Loaded up recently and missing a large portion of my saved collection.
my comics don't show me the comics actual price
I jumped from CLZ to iCollect due to they didn't have the yearly subscription (and now they're trying to get in on that now) I will say CLZ is superior in the sense that I can scan a barcode and that book is added to a series. I don't know where iCollect gets their data from but when I try to group my books by series they're grouped by nonsense! Gang War Daredevil is grouped by 1-3 (LS 3 of 4) Spider-Woman is grouped by 6-4 and so on. This just makes viewing my collection difficult.
this app is a waste of time. the app makes you download other apps that all end up doing nothing to help you. all this app is good for is taking up storage on your phone. whenever i type the comic that i want in yhe search bar it doesnt even work, 0/10 app. do not download this.
Not user friendly/intuitive. Difficult to begin use. Doesn't find my comics from the 70's or 80's - I have to manually pick from a list of books in the title once I scan the barcode. Overall just kind of clunky.
For starters half the time you try scanning a book it doesn't scan and when you type in the numbers on the barcode theres a chance that issue isnt even there. Second what about the books that dont have the barcode. Couldn't have my entire collection in the app cause they didnt have a barcode and you couldn't just search for a certain issue to add.
Too many people editing book names. You can have 3 different X-Men comics of the same series and people will edit the Series (book names) as Xmen, X-men and Ls 1-3 (whatever that means) so now the books aren't grouped together. So you have to edit multiple books with the correct Series name...on a phone. If you want to do this on a PC you have to pay for the Windows version.
I tried several times to use this app, which required me to install extra apps & up for services I didn't necessarily need or want for external storage. However, once I signed up for a few different storage apps for cloud storage, and then finally synced them to the cloud storage app, and when I tried to login to the I collect app, it shut down it would not allow me to continue. After 10 times in a row without it enabling me to login I uninstalled it. Free or not, the app is not worth the time.
Ok the team got together and gave us a decent working app. here so far I've cataloged over 250 comics into the app. It may not be as good as some other comic cataloging apps but it isn't as expensive either. So I'm giving 3 stars to say it's way better then not being able to save my comic but there is still room to grow.
Almost nothing I scanned was actually in the database, so I had to manually enter information and pics myself... which can be VERY tedious with a large collection. I mostly wanted to use the Wishlist section for books I'm actively seeking, but they're added into the same list as my owned collection. If I can't have separate sections for what I have and what I want, the app is pretty useless to my needs.
Great app but description is misleading. It says "Large comic book collections require an in-app purchase to unlock unlimited storage" but does not say what they consider to be "large". Turns out, they consider "large" to be over 30. I personally consider 30 to be a small collection, medium at most. $15 USD for unlimited feels a little steep but the app is good enough that it's still worth it. Would be a 5 star review if the description were more honest.
Cool app. I have 50 or so comics that I've held onto since I was a kid, and I found them in the app. The collection is organized nicely. Most of them could be scanned by the barcode. That worked really well. The ones that didn't have barcodes came up with a keyword search and issue number. The only constructive criticism is that many of the comics have multiple choices per issue--some with very little info and others with complete details. It'd be nice if those were merged. All in all, 5 stars.
