When I started flying a plane with no navigation, I was back to paper charts. Made me wonder how I manged so many years like that. I knew about forflight but didn't have any I products. Searched and found Ifly and have been thrilled with it ever since.
Reviews for iFly EFB
← Back to iFly EFBI first learned of iFly when I purchased a used aircraft with an iFly 700 in the panel. I have since purchased a second iFly 700, subscribed to iFly for 6 mobile devices of which I still have 4 active subscriptions. Even though I have other panel mounted GPS systems, I use the iFly system for geo-referanced positioning while flying in IMC. I understand it, therefore quick changes are easy for me.
I spent some time evaluating Garmin Pilot and iFly GPS both for android. I went with iFly GPS because the flight planning is SO much simpler and iFly GPS has a few really key features that Garmin Pilot doesn't offer. The development plan for iFly GPS seems to be right on track. I sent an email with a wish list of 3 things that would make my experience awesome with iFly GPS, and the response came back that my 3 items are on their top 10 development list. I look forward to new updates and an even better product.
iFly is a fabulous app! I was away from flying for about eight years and when I decided to start again I found that paper charts were no longer used. I downloaded iFly for my first flight and found it very intuitive and had a lot of features. That was about six years ago and I have used it ever since. Love it!
Great EFB app. Used for 2+ years now and love it! Regular updates and improvements are made too.
Outstanding flight planner. With recent updates is now an EFB providing W/B calculations for your flights. I use it for every flight.
I have been using iflygps for the past 3 years and absolutely love it. It has some if not most of the se features of the big name efb's at a fraction of the cost and it has better flight planning capabilities. Input your aircraft information. Go to flight plan and put in start and destination and go and it will find the best route based on winds and fuel prices and include fuel stops.. The others do not do that.
in a saturated Market with numerous applications it's really hard to know if you're getting the right application. this app does exactly what it says it does in the description. I recommend purchasing a pro version if there is or will be one. The learning curve, (acclimation) is easily accomplished and the interface is intuitive. Fantastic software!
The best EFB available. Plays nice with others and provides everything you need for all types of flying!
outstanding EFB! Offers information easily available at your fingertips and clearly presented! Can be tailored to the pilot and is a great value compared to others on the market
have been very pleased with this app. from flight training to ownership and navigation around national airspace. Great tech support and regular updates.
Everything you need for preparation, in-flight, approaches, weather, flight plans, etc. very easy to use. Doesn't require a one week course to learn, like Garmin.
Just renewed, so yes I'm loving the Ifly EFB! It just keeps getting better each update, to the point I get excited to see what's next. Talked a friend into trying it, he was sold on it during the trial period and is now using it full time. Keep up the great work!
Takes for ever to boot. Instable, and regularly crashes. Update speed is inconsistent but worst is the amount of time the app take to connect for the maps server to upload. It still does not include the supplemental charts. The rest my family and friends has moved on, I need to do the same. I tried to provide feedback directly in the past, but none of my comments were taken into account... I am done, will not renew.
Garmin Pilot IFR user for five years. I made the switch to iFly and I am happy. The features I wanted in Garmin are in iFLY and it is more reliable in starting the app, Garmin had trouble initializing the program many times. iFly boots and starts every time. The features I really like are: 1. the numbers are big enough to see, 2. the IFR plates are quickly available, 3. a photo of the airport is available, 4. select the exact runway extension line, 5. the obstacle profile is always posted in the upper right hand side for easy access. they have done it better. I use it on three androids and I can sync the user profile from one master to the other androids so they are all the same. I'm very satisfied.
Have used for a while now. with just a few, small changes it would be a formidable contender for the best of breed. But there are puzzling omissions, such as a useable nav log. currently only has track, but no WCA. So strange, particularly for something that features multiple level flight planning and cross platform support with cross-device data sharing.
Best android alternative available, I recently purchased it for the year for getting my private pilot. I wish as part of trip planning, it could provide nav logs with details of calculations for wca, mag variation, mag course and mag heading. Also, I'm currently getting time out errors when trying to get briefings on trips that include long/lat waypoints. Edit: thanks for the reply!
I've been using iFly for a while now... I've used just about everything else out there and I've chosen iFly EFB .. and it's available on every platform! I have it on my phone, tablet and laptop. Check out their Real Plan feature, it's amazing! The entire platform is extreamely intuitive! It only gets better and better with every update! Their customer service is amazing!!!
I love this app and have used it exclusively for several years after trying Garmin Pilot. It is very stable, easy to use, intuitive, and the folks at Adventure Pilot are super nice and always ready to help if needed. I have this app on my Galaxy tablet, cell phone, and laptop and it works great on all of them. I have a Stratux ADS-B receiver in my Cardinal and the traffic and weather are a lifesaver. I'd highly recommend this app and company to pilots if they want a simpler, yet powerful copilot.
Though it seems most other pilots I know use the other "big" app (that starts with an "F"), I never jumped on that bandwagon, partly because I'm not interested in buying an ipad just to run it. One of the best features of iFly GPS that lured me in is how it works on multiple device types, including Android. I can run it on both my Android phone and Android tablet at no extra cost, and it has all the features I desire most: georeferenced charts (vfr and ifr), ADS-B datalink, and overall ease of use. I've been using this app for several years and hope it keeps staying awesome!
