Uninstalled. I wanted to use it, as opposed to web browser access. Ever since trying the app out for about a month, every morning listening to WOOD FM 106.9, I'd close the app whe ln done. Every time, I figured out that the app continued/continues to run in the background, draining my battery faster than prior to installing. I'd have to force stop. There is no place I've found in the app to shut that off completely. It "wakes up" on its own. Not dealing with it anymore.
Reviews for iHeart: Music, Radio, Podcasts
Lately the "free" version has entirely too many adds, more than listening to the actual radio, the ratio is 1 song to 1 add at this point, typically you get to hear two songs followed by two unstoppable adds, just not worth the aggravation, YouTube has fewer adds at.this point & they are skippable. Ah well, had a good run, back to local storage & digital music with at least some semblance of fidelity.
The app will not play anything on mobile data (with 4 to 5 bars of 5g coverage). Looked to see if it was a setting restricting playback on mobile data but found nothing. The music and/or podcasts just sit buffering and never play. The second I switch to WiFi, everything works fine. Not great since I use this on the road with only mobile data available for internet access. *Edit* Since the most recent update, everything seems to be resolved now using the app over mobile data and Wi-Fi.
Probably the worst streaming app available. No matter how you set your preferences and settings, you'll find that nothing works as it should; as you've set it. You'll find podcasts starting from different places than you left them, starting automatically when you open the app, despite your settings. Literally nothing working as it should. So many other apps are available. Strongly recommend you try something else; literally anything else.
I love it! I take the app everywhere I go and it's free and not to many adds and they don't interrupt the music like other apps. since I listen to all different types of music from classical, opera, rock, Christian and top 40-music; i can create my own play-list or groups according the way I feel. also they have great podcast and news if I want to keep up wants going around the world of music and news.
I adore this app for listening to my favorite podcasts for free!!! Super easy to use, and it's always reliable....no glitches or crashes. Also I like that it's super easy to explore and has an amazing amount of podcasts, artists to choose from. I have discovered some of my favorite new artists & podcasts on this app. Seriously I can't believe that it's free.
doesn't work with new android update. every time you open anything else on your phone it closes down and you have to start over. I'd recommend just buying a regular am/fm radio before I'd recommend downloading this app. update:: so I contacted the department for android like they requested, and their solution was for me, which was about 20 steps, including uninstalling the app. so I just uninstalled it and downloaded something more user-friendly. I don't work for this company.
I loved how when I listen to my downloads when one podcast would finish it would seamlessly start the next one. I could listen all day and not have to do anything as long as the podcasts were in order of listening preference. Since the last update, after each podcast it stops and I have to find my phone and see which is the next podcast as hit play. I wish to continuous listening would be restored. Especially for long drives, not safe to search the phone while driving.
I honestly hate this app so much. maybe I'm just missing something, but trying to create a playlist is incredibly unintuitive. the default playlist tab is a bunch of radio suggestions, which is whatever, but I want to access the podcasts I just added and mess around with the order I put them in. and why is it so difficult to find the list of the podcasts I'm following? I still haven't found the play list either! I get you want us to pay to upgrade, but why would I want to pay for this??
New 2025 issue: nearly every morning while listening to my local radio station, the app gets stuck in a loop playing ads. I don't notice until I realize the news didn't play on the half hour. I exit & restart and turns out they've been back in the air for who knows how long! frustrating Contantly downloads podcasts when it's set not to. Does this weird thing of changing stations, podcast episodes, and even to a totally different podcast randomly- I'm not even touching the phone.
