Description
Been using iHunter Saskatchewan for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that shows you hunting zones and other useful info if you’re into that kind of thing. Pretty solid if you’re a hunter or just like being outdoors.
There’s a bunch of cool features – you can view the hunting zones overlaid on different maps like satellite, topo, and road. And it works offline too, which is handy when you’re out in the boonies. It’s got waypoints too, so you can mark spots where you’ve seen animals or talked to landowners.
Look, if you’re into hunting or just exploring the outdoors, you’ll probably dig this app. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a little clunky and the maps could use an update. But overall it does the job and is worth checking out, especially if you hunt in Saskatchewan.
Editor Opinion
I've tested a bunch of apps like this, and iHunter Saskatchewan is one of the better ones. The mapping and overlay features work really well, and being able to save your own waypoints is super handy. The offline mode is also a big plus. The downsides are that the interface isn't the most intuitive, and the map data could be more up-to-date. But for an app that's focused on a specific region and activity, it gets a lot right.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Tons of useful features for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts
- Offline maps and caching so you can use it without cell service
- Ability to add your own waypoints is a nice touch
- Works on both iOS and Android devices
Cons
- User interface is a bit clunky and not the most intuitive
- Map data could be more frequently updated
- Might be overkill if you're just a casual outdoors person
