I had Pro for a year, it works fine but when you go to cancel/stop auto renew there is no obvious way to do that through the INavX app. Best way for Android: go to play store app and cancel subscriptions from there.
Reviews for iNavX: Marine Navigation
← Back to iNavX: Marine NavigationApp. is rubbish. You can't shift your starting position to plan a future route, maps don't render 1/2 the time, missing portions of maps I downloaded. TERRIBLE! Worse than useless. Move on, nothing to see here.
Just. Bloody. Awful. I've had this installed for less than 20 minutes - one of the most counter intuitive apps I've used. Uninstalled.
Bad for basic use. Not intuitive. Not easy to find free maps. Can't do basic waypoints without an upgrade. Constant ads to upgrade. Can't get off the mailing list! Unsubscribe doesn't work. Can't delete my account!
quilted the noaa charts for buzzards bay and can no longer navigate as one chart overlaps and leaves a blank space where there should be depth information. help! Marine navigator lite is free but i thought inavx would be better. I was wrong. Plus i do not like the subscription.
After investing considerable money in maps for North and South America I was suddenly no longer able to download them and told I needed to buy them all over again. I am happy to update for a fee but but to pull the plug on my investment was a scam pure and simple.
I found InNavX nav programme for Bahamas charts very useful but Apple's policy for auto renew & auto charging my account without Android customer ready access to cancellation to be nasty and unfair. Even when directions on can elation are followed, the page to cancel the InavX subscription does not open on android phone. (Apple Laptop or IPhone or net connected iPad appears to be required to cancel the InavX auto renewing subscription).
I'm taking a sailing course and installed iNavX to try recording and exporting my tracks. The functionality, advertised to work, is completely broken: - The track recording settings button may be missing or may appear twice in the UI. - Track export is not usable at all. According to "Jim" from iNavX customer support, "Exporting Tracks, Waypoints and Routes in iNavX for Android is somewhat limited. They can only be exported to your iNavX account storage from you Android device. Also, there is no way to retrieve them from that online storage except by using iNavX." Well, it would be nice to mention this in the user guide, folks. - Track sharing, e.g. via email, generates a GPX or KML file with a single waypoint (instead of several thousand that I recorder over four hours of sailing yesterday). I'm cancelling my subscription and will be looking for a working alternative. Don't use iNavX if you care about track recording.
I really like iNavx on iOS. Unfortunately this android version is lacking the most important feature. Nmea tcp/ip client to connect to real GPS and to show AIS data. AIS Live is not a solution when real AIS data is available. I'll check this out again in the future. Back to navionics until this is fixed.
Great app but I switched from android tablet to a Chromebook and this app does not support Chromebook. Please add support for android app on Chromebooks. Also, when using Navionics maps on phone the text for depth soundings and other markings is too small, and text size is not adjustable in settings. Please add font size/scaling setting.
The app is not loading properly. I paid for a subscription and can't even use it. When I went to the contact us button the app opened my own private messages app. Don't understand why that would happen. If the app isn't going to work I need a refund haven't even gotten to use it.
I down loaded this and used it only one time. I didn't like it. I couldn't set my course up and the SOG was not in real time shown on the chart. None of the instruments were shown on the chart. For speed I had to continually change from chart view to instruments view. To update speed you had to change back to the chart then back to instruments for it to update. It might have been ok on a slow moving sailboat. After one trip I uninstalled and installed a different app to evaluate.
Doesnt show any info for lights and bouyage. If there is a button for it then it's very will hidden. The chart constantly flicks back to my locations when I'm trying to plan a route or check areas. Extremely frustrating. I hope this changes and the charts provide a lot of detail and I would like to keep using it. Unsubscribed until then
Love this app. I prefer it over Garmin's display, because it uses a raster image of the actual NOAA charts, with all the details a paper chart has. I sail on lake St Clair and go up the St Clair River into lake Huron, and it's detail and accuracy with the very narrow, shallow canals and buoy tracks, I can sail at night with total confidence. Amazing.
I've used it for 2 years now, in Canada. The Apple app allows you to tap on the screen and see what charts apply to your location; the Android app -you have to fumble through the store and search for insert charts, or know off the top of your head which chat numbers apply to you. Having to go through every G.D. chart to find the right one everytime is a pain. If I wanted to do that, If just pull out my physical charts. If they fixed that, Is give it 5 stars...
According to a Google search, this app is supposed to have ocean and wind currents, longitude and latitude, and be tied into NOAA. I've not found any of this. It didn't even cover a full world map. Should be able to plot any course, even inland ports, by inputting LLC.
I tought it would be possible to download/buy extra maps but they don't provide it. What you see is what you get. May be fair: 1 business = 1 target audience However unclear beforehand, discovering this, I was very displeased that I could not be reimbursed. I live&sail outside US and got told that "ngahghah we don't provide other maps and ngahghah we don't reimburse" So future clients be warned : This app does only works inside North America (& the few other maps in demo). hope it worksout for u
The app has great potential but it is far too glitchy to use. I bought it for a recent catamaran delivery from Grenada to fort Lauderdale--to use my phone as a backup, and for general planning. The ability to download the explorer charts for the Bahamas was useful. However the quilting is inconsistent and pretty awful honestly. Plus there were to many other glitches to use regularly. While it did serve as a backup, I will stick to my laptop programs...
Don't purchase this app. It is not user friendly, the staff are not getting back with reasonable help. You have to purchase add-ons if you want waypoints. And this gets worse. You can't Bluetooth your phone with a Tab....so you have to navigate with a small phone screen. Let me tell you it's impossible unless you have extraordinary vision.
Seems good, but haven't tried it on the water yet. Will update once in the boat. Good tech support via email. Was having issues seeing charts in Android, so they informed me I need to tap on the chart name to see it.
