This is a great app! Perfect for when I don't have access to my drawing tablet and want to do some doodling. Great selection of brushes and manipulation tools, pretty much every part of it can be changed, and it's just overall a good experience! Only downsides to it are that many of the features are broken up into different packages that each cost money, but most of these are definitely worth the extra money. I also get some crashes, so it's important to save often. Overall though, it's great!
Reviews for Infinite Painter
This is a great app if you're into drawing. It can simulate nearly any type of brush, pen, pencil, marker, etc. I use it primarily for touching up other people's work, but it's been really handy for my own drawings as well. My only complaint is there are built in gesture controls that hinder some of my progress. Namely, the gesture for undoing your last edit. I don't know what the gesture is in order to avoid using it, but I seem to be able to trigger it accidentally while I'm working.
Ambitious features, beautiful brushes, neat UI... It could be SO good. Unfortunately, it's unstable as hell and very prone to bugs and crashing. If you get carried away and let a file get too big, the inefficiently managed CPU overload and lack of warnings for when you're risking CPU overload can lead to a catastrophic situation where you literally cannot open the project ever again unless you get really lucky. If this happens, you're out of luck. You can't open the .pntr file anywhere else.
Love the software! I want to bring up a problem I encountered, though. When I tried to save my work, it wouldn't; it just kept showing the buffering animation. When the app closed, the file was fully deleted and it got separated into 4 empty project files called "playback," "corrections," "layers," and "resources." A lot of work was lost and it ruined my morning. I hope to have this issue checked out so it won't happen again. Edit: There's a bug that's stopping the app from launching.
I've used this app in the past with decent results, but it has the clunkiest interface imaginable. All the tools and options are hidden in incomprehensible menus (which are nested within other menus, ad infinitum). Precision work is near impossible because the brush settings are overcomplicated and unintuitive. I want this to be a great app, but they missed the mark by getting bogged down in granular options nobody uses.
At first glance, the app looks promising, but the free version is extremely limited. Only 3 layers? That makes creating anything meaningful very difficult. Almost every tool is locked behind a paywall, and the premium ad pops up constantly — even when offline. Frustration builds with every minute spent drawing. I expected more from an app with such potential.
I REALLY want to give this app 5 stars—it has amazing tools, and an awesome lapit—BUT! My experience has been ruined, all because of one bug: I can't access any of my brushes. :[ As soon as I try to open them, the entire app crashes! It started off as just the favorites, but it escalated into ALL of my brushes. I can't switch. I cleared the cache, reinstalled, and even deleted ALL of my infinite painter data. Even with a fresh start, it persists. Unusable, and unfortunate.
very good and ad free- Ibis paint has gotten a bit wild with the ads. The tricky part is adjusting to the new UI and tools but beyond that it's a wonderful drawing app. Edit: 3 layers only is crazy- along with locking almost every feature behind a pay wall. I'd rather have occasional ads than only have three layers and no selection.
All in all a pretty decent drawing app. I've found myself using it to make art for stickers and stuff way more than I ever expected. I really like the layout of the UI and the selection of brushes is great too. I've only ever had it crash on me when trying to load an image over 5000x5000 resolution. My only real complaint is that it chugs through my battery on my Galaxy Z Fold 6 pretty quickly, so I need to be mindful of usage time or have a charger nearby.
I have a Galaxy S25+ and this app crashes trying to do the most basic things and I *just* installed it. How is the undo button going to crash your app every 30 seconds? How does coming back to your app after it crashes completely forget what actions I've done so now I can't even undo the thing that I was trying to undo in the first place. Is the solution to make a layer for every single brush stroke? Absolutely not. Fix your app and don't bother to tell me about it because I'm done.
