It's nice, WHEN it works. I keep my cell phone on vibrate because I work in a call center. If I forward my calls to the app, my phone RINGS. Contacted customer support, and the response was it's a glitch in the update and won't be fixed till the NEXT update. Crashes every time I try to check voicemail. Clearing cache, reboot and reactivate the app doesn't always work. Bluetooth doesn't always connect, and sometimes the other person can't hear me. I'm HOH and had high hopes for this. S21 ultra 5g
Reviews for InnoCaption Live Call Captions
← Back to InnoCaption Live Call CaptionsThe app will not stay logged in, as soon as you close your phone, it closes the app as well. The result in doing that is you miss phone calls and messages as well that seems to be a problem for me and maybe something that needs to be looked at and fixed other than that call clarity is awesome if you're connected to a Wi-Fi not so well on just your mobile data.
(Update) I still like the app but sometimes it is really hard. It only rings once, then losing the call sometimes losing my call while talking. I really like the app I just have have some issues. (Update 2) I am so frustrated, when I lose internet or my data is slow, I lose my call or don't hear all of a conversation because they thought I was still there. I love this app but I am having more frustrating moments and it is making me want to delete the app
Edit: I was able to complete registration on the website, but to finish registering, it required me to state that I have hearing loss, which I do not have. Very frustrating, I will find another service. Just downloaded this app and can't get past the registration process. I get the text verification code, but when I try to enter it in the app, the input field switches back to accept a telephone number again instead of the verification code. If I can't even register, this us useless.
Good app. Messages tend to lag. Person would finish talking before all the words are there. Now here's a real problem: whenever I'm done using it, sounds for other things on my phone like ringtones and alarm would stop working. When I try to test any sounds after a phone call on innocaption (because an alarm alert doesn't go off sounding like it's supposed to), it says "unable to play during call" even though the phone call have already been disconnected for a while.
the application does transcribe as advertised. there is a delay. however, the installation of the app played Havoc with my hearing aids. I have phonak hearing aids paired with the Bluetooth on my phone. they work perfectly. that is until I installed the captioning app. once I did, and I received a phone call, the Bluetooth disabled, and the audio automatically flipped between speaker, bluetooth, and handset. it made it impossible to use it
I used the interpreter once or twice, then went to the AI service as i was making calls with personal information on them. Ive only just started and its been very reliable. The tutorial on how to set up call forwarding was very helpful. My hearing loss was sudden and this helped me cope very well. I gave 4 stars instead of 5, as it has a hard time understanding people with heavy accents and through masks, and it sucks battery. Have a battery backup with you at all times!
When I would get inbound calls, I wasn't always able to answer calls, like the button to accept calls wasn't working. Or I would accept the calls, but my phone would continue to ring and vibrate. Also, couldn't use speaker phone anymore. On ANY app on my phone. Was told my voice was breaking up or sounded garbled. I had so many issues, I unfortunately had to delete the app. All the issues with inbound calls and speaker phone immediately stopped. Sad, cause the captioning was a life saver.
This was working relatively well before and I suggested to many people. As of now, I don't see missed calls in the call log, occasionally I cannot make calls, when receiving a call the sound on my phone lowers which requires a restart to get back to normal (super not cool for the hearing impaired), and there seems to be no point in saving favorites anymore because the settings will just go away. Seemed to be working great a couple months ago.
Setting up this app was one of the most convoluted and confusing processes I have ever been through. Once I had it working, it was a real disappointment to experience peoplenot hearing me. There was a long pause between when I spoke and the other person spoke. After I would disconnect a call, it would immediately dial 1000000000. Disconnecting Bluetooth was the only way I could get that to stop. This happened multiple times. I finally just uninstalled the app. Very frustrating.
Because of my moderately severe (official diagnosis) hearing loss, I figured I would give this a try after seeing several intriguing ads. The app seemed promising, but I had a few missed calls that I attributed to operator error. Today, I had several important calls that would not come through. After I deleted the app, my phone worked just fine.
it's very easy to use. it's free, too. The captioning is a little behind. That's why I give it a 4. Sometimes, it makes me laugh when the captions say something so different w/ what the other person said. I have never used a TTY phone, but I wanted an app that I could "hear" the callers voice, they hear my voice & not a computer generated one & something I don't have to change my phone #. I will receive calls & Innocaptiom will forward the call directly to me. I still see who is calling.
so far I absolutely love it. it doesnt tell the other party that the call is being translated and saved. I wish it could have its own widgets for samsung so I can have a quick dial from my screen. I also wish it could integrate with Bixy and use this phone instead of the preinstalled Samsung one when using voice calls. good app translates well. Just not super convenient for samsung users that actually use their features.
this app generally works great. I have a friend, Mr Mumbles , who it struggles with. At times, it translates to captioning with errors, like drunken autocorrect, but I can usually figure it out. there is also a slight delay that is annoying on some calls, but it's the first time in years I've made calls . I have over 100Db hearing loss in both ears.
absolutely horrible! delayed everything captions and audio. I have to say "hello" at least 3 times before I can hear the other party or they can hear me. If I don't have the phone in my hand I will miss the call because it only rings twice. There is audio interface on both ends. And captions are delayed and very inaccurate. I would give it negative stars if I could.
I have some hearing loss, but my biggest problem is auditory processing issues. This makes it hard to take in info and remember it. However, this app has made making calls so much easier and taken out all the stress! It's been a godsend for important phone calls because I have transcripts I can look back on. I also have hand injuries, and writing isn't always easy, so having any phone #, email, website, address, etc, transcribed provides numerous accessibility features for my disabilities! 5/5!
Unusable😳. I have the correct password - I already used it. But the app suddenly states "incorrect password" presenting me with a screen to enter my phone number. Except it doesn't allow me to enter my phone number!!! I am giving up and uninstalling. One last note: I am 70 and have poor eyesight and increased the text size. After that the screen jumped around so badly I definitely couldn't read the text then. I do wish the developers the best. This app does have a lot of potential!
The transcription takes too long to connect after answering, sometimes up to 10 seconds, so callers hang up. I have missed important calls because of this. I would also like the option to answer some calls through my regular phone, especially for family video calls. I really like that it transcribes both sides of the conversation and appreciate the dyslexia setting. Overall, it is one of the better apps but could improve with a few tweaks.
four stars for now ONLY because I'm trying to see how this app works. so far so Good. UPDATE: two stars because even when the phone is IN MY HAND, I miss every phone call because as much time as it takes the app to load and open, the caller has already hung up. Almost never fails. so it's a great concept however the time it takes to actually connect to an incoming phone call has got to improve. I'll have to delete this so I can catch my calls. sorry.
Great app for us HoH people. Easy to setup and use. Captioning is high quality. Doesn't drop calls like similar apps do. I really appreciate this app. It's made communication so much easier. One request: I get callers that go to voicemail, but hang up after a few seconds. Spammers or wrong numbers. I'd like to be able to set a minimum length of message to save, so if they hang up after a few seconds, I don't get a notification. Thanks so much for the app!
