Waste of money. You have to wait for more chapters when you've already paid for them. There should be a disclaimer. I want my money back. It costs minimum 30 to 40$ each book that can sometimes repeat chapters, forgets name of characters and the grammar is atrocious. I was reading a book after I spent another 20$ to continue and it just stopped. No more chapters. How is it fair they have a book up but it'll never be finished .
Reviews for iReader-Novels, Romance Story
← Back to iReader-Novels, Romance StoryRip off! This app charged me over $20 for a single book ( I paid for all chapters in advance) and then when I got to the end I realized the book isn't even finished and hasn't been updated in months. They should disclose if a book is in progress or not finished. I contacted customer service for a refund and they were not helpful at all. I ended up finding the same book on another app for free with all of the updated chapters. Do not use this app! They dont care about doing the right thing.
One book costs at least 40 dollars realistically. Had to even do the math cause I didn't believe it myself. The stained omega had 168 chapters it's 180 vouchers for every chapter after crater 5. That's 29,340 vouchers that it would cost. The only way to get that is through the 50 dollar option or by waiting an excruciatingly long time to the point where I'd honestly forget I'm even reading the book. I don't mind paying for my books, but I will NEVER spend that much on a book. It's absurd.
I read though some chapters of a story, after a while it prompts you to pay which I did because I liked the book so far, I went back in to read some more and it is giving me a error saying "The book file is not correct. remove from bookshelf" I removed it and tried to re-add it to fix it and that does not work, can't read it at all! This is not cool at all, I can't even reread the chapters I already payed for, this needs to be fixed or I will have to stop using this app!
This would be an excellent app if they had choices for the readers. Give a choice for people to purchase the entire book, chapter by chapter, the coins and BE TRANSPARENT. People are paying upwards of $30+ for books here as those digital books by well known best selling authors are not even as high as what people are paying for here. Be transparent how much a book cost overall in totality. The standard reply is that it cost so much for copyrighted material, well I have paid for copyrighted material for classes and other apps and it is nowhere near the end cost is here. In my view we are paying more money for the use of the app rather than the cost of the material. Some of the books are good. Many are average below average though. I am not akin to paying upwards of $30 for a below average book. However, you start reading a book and the first few chapters are good to okay and then you pay for more and get below average material that was obviously not proofread. If one is paying that much it should be edited.
You have to pay to be able to unlock the chapters but then once you get so far into the book you have to wait for a new chapter each day. It's ridiculous. *Update* to be clear I didn't give a 1 star review because you have to pay. I gave a 1 star review because you have to pay more to unlock the chapters for a book that isn't finished then to purchase a finished, published, and edited book. These books are not finished, edited, or published. They should not cost so much.
Okay, I admit it. I was pulled in by the Facebook free read. I am an avid reader and support writers and publishers. HOWEVER. I wanted to check a bit before spending money to see how much it would cost to get a book. Some online said they were spending 80 dollars for ONE story. I totally can't justify that, especially for an ebook. I guess I will be left hanging.
I like the books I've read so far on this app. I will say cost per chapter can be high on certain books but buying in bulk with the discount helps a little. My biggest complaint is a glitch that keeps happening on the app- It keeps downloading and opening a book I browsed a few chapters of but deleted from my library. It's annoying as it'll close the book I'm in the middle of reading and open up to the first page. I don't want this book and I don't know how to make it stop. I've tried everything
I love how I got hooked on to some the of the novels on here that I could not put down, I simply had to read more. However it is really expensive. I wish it wasn't already spent $100 and that's only on 3 books and currently a little past halfway mark for the 3rd novel 😕. If they could put a better system to earn coins for free that would be amazing.
The app itself works fine. The books can be expensive. Most are by newer authors. So there are typos, words used incorrectly, punctuation issues, etc. Remember they don't have paid editing. The author does all that themselves. If this is an issue for you, it's best to just not read material on these types of apps. Most of the books I've read have been good. Some are available on other apps or sources. You might want to check around before you drop your hard earned coins on the book.
The story I am reading is good. The little amount of daily check in bonus is annoying. I don't mind watching videos but when I have to wait 2 minutes between videos that's annoying. Just give me the option to buy the book, not just coins that may out may not be enough to tag the whole thing. I buy books from different reading apps, would here too if that were an option.
I like the stories so far. Found the story/app by an add on FB that is written all the way up to chapter 8. But when I started the story it wants to make me pay which in the end would cost more then I actually pay for books. I only read free books. Have 5 apps for books. The other apps I just watch an ad for the next chapter. Which I am fine doing. The fact you want me to dish out all this money is unreal. I'll read from another app before I do that which is free. More to say but no space.......
I gave it a two for the enjoyable part of the story that i was willing to pay for. These books are craaazy expensive. I know that the robotic response from iReader to all cost complaints is "we pay huge amount of fee to authors" and "it's hard for authors to create works", but you pay like $30 for what should be a $10 paperback. The $10 paperback would also have fewer errors. Very frustrating.
Would give 0stars if I could. I strongly dislike having to pay for chapter by chapter to read when I can just pay for the entire full book. Not only that but you don't even get much with the daily log in bonus. Plus, you only get 18 coins each for watching 3 ads and you can only do this once a day. If you're going to have a pay to read app, at-least make it easier/ and or cheaper for people to use it. I would suggest people transfer to wattpad. It even has entirely free stories to read from.
Find it nice to read new writers stories as they developed. There are grammatical errors and some strange word choices at times but you can figure out the meanings implied. Don't like that you have to wait so longer between chapters (days to months) unless you buy/earn vouchers. It would also be nice to have the option to buy the entire book at the start.
I enjoy the books, even knowing that they need corrections. I do wish that the app gave points per correction, or after so many corrections. As some books do require many corrections in each, short, chapter. I also think that some books a way too expensive. Having to pay more than 60points per chapter is too much. I have a book thats over 200points per chapter.
This app is greedy. They will split chapters you have already read and make you pay for the book twice. My favorite author has some books on this app, so I can't give a zero. The app is expensive and requires 5 hours of reading that equals 1 chapter. It originally gave more points for the reading them lowered it, and raised how many points for the chapters pretty much forcing you to buy if it's a really good book. The app sometimes glitches, and they are reluctant to give back the proper reward.
Good stories so far. Chapters are a bit pricey. The story I'm reading currently has not had many grammar and spelling errors which is nice for a change compared to some others in other apps. Some of them were so bad that it was distracting from the story because you had to stop and try to figure out what it was. So, great guys just lower the chapter price and you'll be my favorite!
I did a trial for less than a dollar, but could find no place to be sure the subscription was cancelled. I was charged $14.99 for the next two weeks, despite reaching out to ask for help cancelling. I ended up disconnecting my form of payment and hope that will help, but this company has terrible customer service and must hide their option to unsubscribe to loop people into paying when they no longer are interested in the service.
I'm on book 5, the first 4 being on a different app, free novels. To continue reading this series I must purchase to read or try to get free coins or vouchers. The site says you can watch ads to accumulate coins, etc , but when I try and go to them it doesn't do anything. I dont mind watching ads at the end of chapters but you're not given that option. Love this series though.
