Been using Island Packet Hilton Head news for a couple months now. It’s basically a local news app that covers everything happening around Hilton Head, Bluffton, and the surrounding Lowcountry area. Pretty solid if you’re into keeping up with your community.
Here’s what you can do: browse the latest local and breaking news stories, check out the weather and traffic updates, and read all the opinions and columns from the Island Packet newspaper. There’s also the ability to share articles on social media, which is pretty handy. And the app’s got some nice photo and video galleries – took me a while to find those at first, but they’re a cool way to see what’s going on.
Look, if you live in or around Hilton Head, you’ll probably find this app useful. It’s not perfect – the ads can get a bit annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does a solid job of keeping you connected to your community. Worth checking out.

So here's my take on the Island Packet Hilton Head news app. I've tested a bunch of local news apps and this one's pretty good overall. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, and the coverage of Hilton Head and the surrounding areas is comprehensive. I like that it pulls in not just the latest news, but also the opinions, columns, and community features from the actual newspaper. The ability to share articles is a nice touch too.
On the downside, the ads can get a little intrusive at times, and I've found the push notifications to be a bit much - I had to turn a lot of them off. But those are pretty minor issues. Compared to other local news apps I've used, this one does a pretty great job of keeping you informed about what's happening in your community.
