So here's my honest take on ISS Detector Pro. I've tested a bunch of space/astronomy apps and this one's pretty solid. The variety of stuff you can track is great - from the ISS to satellites to comets. The notifications make it easy to actually go outside and spot things. And I like that it's got more advanced features like the Doppler calculations if you're into that. But it does have some downsides, like the ads getting old after a while. Overall though, it's a really useful app if you want to get into space watching.

Pros

  • Tons of stuff to track - ISS, satellites, famous objects
  • Notifications make it easy to go outside and spot things
  • Advanced features like Doppler shift calculations
  • Free to use, don't have to pay to enjoy the main features

Cons

  • Ads can get annoying if you don't pay for the pro version
  • Interface takes a bit to get used to, not the most intuitive
  • Gets a little repetitive after tracking the same objects for a while

Description

Been using ISS Detector Pro for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you track the International Space Station and other cool stuff in the night sky. Pretty solid if you’re into space and astronomy.

Here’s what you can do – you can see when the ISS is gonna pass overhead, get notifications so you can go outside and spot it. There’s also a bunch of other satellites you can track, like the Starlink train and even some famous objects like the Hubble telescope. And it’s got cool features like calculating the Doppler shift for radio satellites. Took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re into space and want to get into amateur astronomy, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can be a bit annoying if you don’t pay. But overall it does the job and it’s worth checking out.
