Decent job search app, I like the email updates about jobs I might be interested in. Unfortunately, I cannot filter search results to part time or full time. There's no way for me to make that a preference at all. As a disabled person, constantly getting emails and search results about jobs I physically cannot do gets discouraging. Even after using the app for over a month, it will not stop recommending me full time positions. Please fix this. It's such a simple mechanic.
Reviews for Job Search by ZipRecruiter
← Back to Job Search by ZipRecruiterEasy to use, and I love that the app tells me whenever an employer has viewed my application/resume. I also receive emailed job notifications (you don't have to use this feature, but I like it). You can save the jobs that you're interested in, and it saves a list of the jobs you have already applied for. You can filter your search by location and distance. The only option that I would like to see added to this app is the option to take different aptitude tests like some of the other apps offer.
This app is terrible. Most jobs shown are irrelevant (example, I never worked in the medical field and it shows me LPN positions as a great match, and also shows pizza delivery as a great match) , as well as not in the salary range I need. It also shows many jobs that are way beyond my skills. I have to waste way too much time removing unrelated jobs, which also reappear after I dismiss them. There are far better options out there than the irrelevance of this app.
This has been the most legitimate employment app I have used that has yielded results. What I like most is that you can "1-click" apply and move on to the next. They submit your resumé you have on file to the job poster and you're done. They also send you notifications when your application has been viewed. Update: This still the best employment app but keeps freezing after 5-10 minutes every time & have to restart it. This is frustrating when I find a great job to apply for and it freezes!!!
Ultimately frustrating, I think I've finally given up on this one. The app insists on showing me jobs from Dallas (I don't live there) and from years ago. I'm not sure if my field isn't available or if it's a bad matchup but I'm frustrated at the lack of recent and remote artistic jobs (of which many exist on other apps). Not for you if you do 3D modeling or anything digitally artistic
Can't change notification settings. You can go in and edit them as much as you want, but there is no save button. Also, after changing them, when you back out and go back in, they reset to the default of notifying you for everything. Ended up deleting the app cause I was getting alerts for potential listing matches daily without the ability to turn it off. I prefer to find the listings I want to apply to. I think a list or section that shows jobs they think are a good match would be great.
Very easy to use! This app is also very popular with employers so you can always be certain your resume will be looked at. Very easy to build a resume, with different skills/ schools/ job titles etc. populating in the entry box thingies (for lack of a better description at this time!) so you don't have to work as much thinking about what you're trying to input. Great app!
Extremely easy job searching platform to navigate. What I like most is the ability to have multiple avenues to update your personal information such as phone number, email etc. In case you switch phones and can't loginto your old email or have access to the old cell numbers that were attached to the account. A system that another app "Indeed" does not allow you to do, it forces you to make a new account, and even tech support can't assist you. Love the app! Keep up the good work!
So frustrating! They need to take some notes from indeed. No matter how many times I set my distance to 25 mi, I'm still getting stuff from over an hour away. I searched something for my son and now I'm getting a bunch of plumbing stuff. You can't filter it to say you don't want to see certain occupations or positions. overall just clunky and not user friendly. Could be great with some tweaking
HORRIBLE JOB RECOMMENDATIONS The app itself is okay. However, there seems to be no way to localize any job recommendations. My emails are flooded with jobs recommended in areas that I can not travel to. Feedback produced no positive response or change to the matter. Instead, you're given a very generic, go to your settings, and adjust. However, doing so only adjusts once you're actively searching. Not the actual email recommendations for your local area. A huge waste of time.
like most job seeking applications, this one pushes endless jobs at you that you cannot filter out. I'll never work sales, but I can't turn those off. I can't opt out of schedules I'm not available for, or fields I'll never consider. I can't say no to the same job I've received recommendations for that aren't of interest. Like everything going AI, the results are unimpressive. The only site offering better is Indeed, and they suck. Job Marketing is at a very low place. AI is Trash
I had a job interview meeting. but, when I try to log in to my phone. it wasn't working. it keeps bugging saying no internet network even through there wasn't any issues with my network. I tried my mobile data as well but, it was still showing that. I tried to log in by laptop and it was showing bad getaway , try again later and too many things. I have screenshot about it.
Bad app, had it for a year, it didn't give me a single good job, and the jobs it kept EMAILING and NOTIFYING for were always in places like Arizona when I'm in Canada. And when you cancel the notifications or emails they somehow find another stupid way to message you. Also, it takes 3 days for them to delete your account, and in those three days, they still notify constantly.
Great job seeker app. I do wish there was a way of setting filters for the distances that I want to search. I'm seeing jobs from Harrisburg and Hanover and I live in Lancaster and I'm only looking within a 20 mile radius. also I do not see a way to reject jobs so that they don't continue to show up in my feed like you can do in indeed. for example if a job pops up that requires tax accountant, I should be able to reject that job so it doesn't continue to show up in my feed.
Great app for job searching. I find ZipRecruiter to be very useful in job searching and helping to connect with employers. I have some great results each time I use the app. Only thing I wish they fixed, is the job description in some of the job posts. Can only read so much, as if the description was cut off halfway through. Besides that, I highly recommend it if you are seeking employment.
I don't know how this app got so much worse since the last time I used it, I'm pretty sure they turned it over to AI and it shows. Pretty much none of the jobs are hosted there anymore so it's just an aggregator, and it doesn't allow you to view the full job description. Suggested jobs are way off, not even close to what I'm looking for. The enshittification of Ziprecruiter is complete.
I'm sure this app has been helpful for some folks but not me. I see the error message "something went wrong" almost every time I open this app. When the app DOES work, the application process is pretty straightforward, much easier and less time-consuming than other online applications I've spent hours filling out. Unfortunately, because the app works so unreliably on my phone, it hasn't gotten me anywhere in my job search.
I get notifications for jobs posted several months or a few years ago. Recently: 3 years ago. Unlikely the company listed is hiring for such a position. jobs should be examined before notifying their customers. now getting notifications but I get an error message saying it can't connect to the app. I've cleared the storage/cache, nothing works. what's the point of the app if it doesn't work. I've deleted the app, tired of uninstalling/ reinstalling. I'll use my laptop instead
The app is not, ...bad, but it's definitely not great either. Actually, on the low side of the 3 stars I gave it, and here's why.... If you're deciding that you want to apply to an industry that may be close to where your experience is, although before you apply, there should be a few little tweaks to your resume. Well, to do that, you would think that the "edit" option would allow something so simple, but you must rewrite your original, and re-upload it! Wasting time we already don't have!
Can't apply for any jobs. Keep getting this error message, even though the format of my contact information is correct: "We were unable to process the given information in its current form. Please adjust your contact information." There isn't even a place in the app to report bugs to the devs. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, it did not resolve the issue. Couldn't find anything on Google or their website regarding this error. The app is essentially unusable for me.
