The stories are great, but there are some stories with significant amounts of grammar mistakes, whether they be punctuation, spelling, or improper speech. Some even have all the above. Then there is coin spending. You can only collect enough to read one or two characters a day, then some stories you have to save three-four days, sometimes even more worth of coins to just be able to read one chapter. With that being said, I don't know how long I'll remain using this app if changes are not made.

The selection can be pretty good, but some authors definitely needed someone to double check their work. Incorrect pronouns, misspelled words, incorrect POV, etc. happen more often in some books than it should. It's also frustrating that you can't search by author. There are some that are far better than others. Many books are "test" which means it can run far too long. Edit: The few audio books I tried were badly done. Definitely a beginner level that made me go back to reading it.

I got sucked in by an interesting story (in isolation I'd rate it 3 or 4 stars) , but the app is terrible enough I'd only give it 1 star. You can't earn enough coins in one day to even read a chapter a day, and when I get an opportunity for a 1-day unlimited reading card, the store won't even work to pay for it (but will for coin purchases >$5). Inconsistent, irritating, and doing a disservice to the writers who have content on the app.

The book I'm reading is good and I love the page animation, which is the ONLY reason for the 2☆s. However, the check in doesn't give enough points, and you can only watch 2 ads for a ridiculously small amount of points to go towards reading. Not to mention there's not an option for watching more ads to build up the points, so it's literally ONLY allowing to read 1 chapter a day without spending money to get more points, which apparently doesn't give more then an additional chapter or 2. BAD APP!

It has some good stories and the ability to earn more coins to open up more chapters, but how much you need and how it calculates that time is completely false. Reading for 2 hours only yields 30-minutes worth. Also, how much you get to unlock chapters (they've extended it further) is not a lot compared to what other apps give (it's difficult to earn enough to do anything with). Because these issues make it unnecessarily hard to use this app, I would not recommend this.

The system of paying coins for chapters is incredibly flawed. Each chapter takes a different amount of coins, each one more than the last, and if you're not patient enough to do the daily check-ins for free coins and actually pay for them, you'll end up spending upwards of $50-$75 for just one book. ONE BOOK!!! A book you could get for less than $10 paperback at a store or on Amazon. I only use this app to discover new titles and find them elsewhere.

I hope other people read these reviews before bothering to download the app.... The ad said it was a free reading app. I guess its technically the truth. The "app is free", BUT if you want to access to books, you pay for each chapter. For the one I was reading, 97 cents per chapter, and there are 85 chapters! That's >$82! Not taking into consideration that people are saying each chapter is more expensive! From what I can tell, it's pay only. No earning time or points. Uninstalling.

Dishonest practices. A chapter will claim that you need a certain amount of coins to open it, and then, when you have that amount of coins and try to open a chapter, the required amount goes up. I've seen the required amount change up to 3 times in an hour. It is a scam that tries to force you to keep buying coins or try to earn them only for them to not be enough to buy anything. You may get lucky and earn a chapter every 3 days but its hard to tell with the cost of the chapter always changing.

No. They want well over 30.00 just to get through one book. Each chapter is like 5-10 pages long and the next chapter costs over 100 coins. you get like 1200 coins for 10.00. I was only halfway through the book and I was already over 20.00 in, and then they asked for more money. I can get 10 audible books for that price. I uninstalled immediately.

It costs a lot to unlock the chapters. I go in daily to check in for coins. When I do, it says 12 coins for check-in. It only gives half of that. then another pop-up saying...20 to discover a new book. I do that, and I get cheated out of the coins. It sucks. Also, the night before I saw that one chapter in the book I am reading costs 69 coins to unlock. but as soon as I get higher coins than that, the coins to unlock now are 80! I would like to read more books and chapters, but this app sucks.

on 2 different occasions, I've had overc1000 coins. when logging back in to sit down for a good read, someone has gotten into my account, and I was left with less than 100 coins. they don't respond to emails. it's sad even on here they are out to beat you out of money as well. Amazon doesn't do this at all. thanks for helping me make this choice.

Charges you to read and doesn't tell you ahead of time! I was into a book that came up as an ad, decided to download the app and once I got to chapter 7 it tells me I need 198 coins to continue reading. upon further looking into it, you are required to spend coins on every chapter there after. It would cost me well over $30 to read a single book. I can pay for my kindle and read unlimited books for far less. Huge waste of time

The price per chapter is ridiculously high. At roughly 200 coins per chapter, 78 chapters left from the preview of Scarred Alphas will cost more than $70 for the 15,000 coins needed, and that wouldn't even complete the book. also, that $70 is supposedly 50% off. move to a different app, or just check Google play. I just discovered there are full novels available there for less than $6. This app should offer a choice to purchase the books for a reasonable price.

Great stories, HUGE RIP OFF. I enjoyed the first 7 chapters but was disappointed at the cost. I know similar apps make you buy coins to unlock more of the story. But some apps offer a monthly payment plan for unlimited access or, at the very least, a way to permanently unlock a story. I was prepared to pay if one of those options had been available. Sadly, the only way to unlock "chapters" (I use the word chapter loosly since they're only a few short pages each) is to pay for each chapter.

I bought a large coin package to receive the 41% more only to return to the book and every chapter now costs more coins to unlock than they originally did. Chapter . Went from 98 coins (already a ridiculous amount) to 135 coins. Total scam as far as pricing. There isn't even a way to open chapters in bulk or with a discount like similar apps.

Good stories. Pricing needs adjusting. Spending about $1 per chapter when stories have hundreds is ridiculous and greedy. readers are usually reading more than one book at a time. If one title on the app is gonna take more than $100 to read, it's not even worth it to start another title or even continue. A streaming subscription is less than this with more to offer.

The stories are good, but the pay system isn't worth all the hassle for "free coins" and I dont have the means to spend real cash on it just to read a story that's always changing in cost to unlock the next chapter. Anyone is better off going to another app instead of this one UNLESS you are very dedicated to the author you want to support.

I like the selection of stories. But, you can't just pay a lump sum to subscribe. Having to buy coins is just too expensive. Doing things to earn some coins here and there takes up too much tine, too. They could at least let you watch videos to earn coins. I'd rather pay a monthly or yearly subscription fee. I'll probably just stick with Galatea.

Extremely expensive. Other novel aps range from 12 - 35 coins per chapter, these are between 230 - 270 or more per chapter - with 82 chapters, that WAY over priced and I have seen no options to gain any free coins to help bring the cost down. Once I finish the book I started, I will be uninstalling this ap. Reader, be ware unless you like spending over $100.00, possibly even way more for a single book.

It takes so many coins to unlock a chapter. I didn't mind it at first, but now there are 2 stories I want to read and I hate having to choose which one I'll read with my daily reward. You also have a download something to get coins but I've done it twice with 2 different apps and as soon as I download the app the cash out goes away and I don't get the coins. I like that we can work for them, but only once daily? At least allow us to watch videos for coins or make the chapters cheaper. Or both.
