I adore the oven, but this app for Android is rubbish. Crashes every time I try to use it and a lot of the time before it crashes it tells me to connect to the oven with the code. Needs improvement for sure.
Reviews for June
← Back to JuneApp stopped working! I'm glad I did not purchase the gourmet package or I'd be losing a lot of money for things that I can't use, because I have Android. It was working for a bit and now it keeps shutting down. I'm this close to returning the oven.
Just received my oven. I cannot even connect it to my phone (Android). My husband has an iPhone so will try with that. Whether that works or not is irrelevant. My phone should be able to connect as well. I cannot comment on the actual function of oven because we haven't used it yet. I sure hope that it works better than the app!
Updating my review. IOS is still clearly the poster child for the June peeps because it's been 2 years now with this oven and I still have this trash Android app. Can't favorite a recipe. Can't filter through the cookbook. Can't use video history on the app. But somehow found the capitol to build a new version of the oven? Unacceptable. The MINUTE you get some competition it's going to be over. It's sad that an app could stand in the way of a great oven. The message this sends is you don't care.
This doesn't have parity with the iOS app which is ridiculous. Excitement around purchasing the oven turned to concern when I see that the Android app is appropriately rated at 2.3 which doesn't make it very smart at all. We're missing premium features like Bookmarks and History.
Love my June oven. Love the iOS app. Hate the Android app. After literally years of promises, the Android app still isn't up to par with the iOS app. Missing bookmarks, the ability to create custom recipes and a cook history. Hasn't been updated in 9 months so I don't expect these features to ever arrive. It's also unstable - iOS app works every time, but Android constantly has to repair with the oven. Why should I pay for a premium membership that is missing a whole bunch of functionality?
My June oven was a Christmas gift from my son. It is, undoubtedly, one of the best and most used gifts I have ever received. I absolutely love its ease of use, it's many applications, not to mention easy to access assistance and all the recipes available at my fingertips. I especially love that during the hot summer months I can use June instead of my big oven. It doesn't heat up the house in the way that my stove oven would. Don't hesistate. Get one for yourself. You will not regret it!
The oven is great. I use it daily. The app is what kills the great oven. I tried some recipes in the cookbook and would like to put them in an organized way. However, I found the app on Andriod OS is very minimal and basic comparing to iOS. I was told by a rep from June Oven that they don't have any plan or timeline to implant the features on iOS to Android OS. I was shocking to hear that, bookmark and history should be very fairly to do on any software today.
i love the oven but hate the app. In fact, I don't use the app at all since it crashes everytime i try to open it. Does this detract from the oven? It does to some extent. Though it's mostly the laziness factor. It means I have to standby the oven while toasting to see if I need to add time rather than being elsewhere to check in.
I like the June. Really like it. The app however, is close to terrible. I have connected my phone/the app to the oven numerous times. It pushes notifications to my phone that cooking is nearly done and finished, but when I open the app in an attempt to check the camera or add time, the app directs me to "connect to the oven" again. Great. I also need to mention that the cookbook has been "coming soon" for Android for months. Great oven. Poor Android app (maybe iOS receives better support).
Very poor app and integration with the oven. They sell a $200 "upgrade" package that touts the app and two years of premium recipe support. That's an outright misleading statement. There is no such support for Android. There is literally no recipe interaction using this app and the value of the $200 package is greatly diminished. When I contacted them about this, they basically said: well, you did get the extended warranty and free shipping. They added later they would send a couple of accessories as compensation (tray and rack), but that never happened either. I really do use and like the oven, but this app and experience is poor and the non-existent "premium" recipe membership is false advertising.
No access to the Premium portion. I signed up for the subscription and once I log into the app and click one of the premium selections I get an error message where its asking me to restore purchase from Google play which I did several times for the last two days and continue to get the same error message. The lack of support or acknowledgement for Android users is very disrespectful therefore had to cancel the subscription. Wish I could give 0 stars
It's plain simple the company doesn't care about the Android users, the iOS version have a bunch of useful features that are not part of the Android version, what it's worst it's there's no reason for this only that they don't want to invest in the development of the app, and to keep them par to each other. If you only have an an Android device I encourage you not to get the oven, you will get just half the experience you could get with a iOS device linked.
App is STILL extremely limited compared to the iOS app. Preheat, cancel cooking and view cooking with camera is all it can do. No customization in the app. Why can't I set up a simple custom program that I would use every day. It would also be nice to see the item after the cooking has stopped otherwise how are you to know to add more cooking time? Really needs to be equal to the iOS app. I gave them the benefit of the doubt as an early adopter but at this point I can't recommend this oven.
I was about to pre-order and then I realized that the "package" I was looking at wasn't a deal...600 for the oven and 200 more to add a 1yr extended warranty and pro access to this garage app. Clearly this company isn't interested in easy (or it wouldn't be a subscription), they just want you to buy something that makes you feel obligated to continue to pay them...according to the other reviews, pay for services that ARE NOT EVEN AVAILABLE ON ANDROID. I won't buy because that is bad business.
I was hoping that this app would contain all of the great features available in the ios application. I was, however, setting myself up for a HUGE letdown. The extremely basic option of simply preheating the oven that this app provides stinks. With a product as pricy as the oven you'd expect equal features between the ios and Android markets. Overall, just disappointing really.
I have a Samsung s9 phone. I was disappointed with the app because I could use none of the advertised features. When I saw the update was available to fix it I updated right away. Now the app won't even open. It crashes the second it tries to open. While I like my June oven I wouldn't have brought it if I had known how many features wouldn't be usable.
The app works and is extremely useful. But it has a big flaw: Most of the oven controls are not accessible from the app. Want to broil? Too bad, can't do it from the app. Air fry? Same, can't do it. All you can do from the app is: Bake, Roast, and use a recipe. Let the app screen under the "Oven" tab duplicate the screen on the oven and you would have a five-star winner.
While cooking, I opened the oven for for a few seconds and the temperature graph reset eventually the cooking time did not. The give feedback button is not working. The android app is inferior to the iOS version and there isn't a good reason why. I keep looking for something better than the Weber app, but I keep falling short. Update: received an error saying it can't fetch security code from server right now. Unable to use the mobile app. Update: consistently is unable to connect to the oven.
After buying the June oven a year ago, I can happily say I use the oven multiple times a day. I would give it 5 stars.... Just not the horrible Android app. At this point I think i have given up hoping for a comparable experience to the June iOS app. Many of the "features" are locked behind having iOS. If a comparable oven came out with a better Android app, I think I would switch.
