The app ads are obnoxious on this and the Yi Home App (which appears to be the same same app with different branding). Full screen ads at startup. The skip / x button that appears doesn't work or takes you to the product page anyway. No real option to actually skip them other than to wait. This even happens when opening an alert from the app. I already paid for cams. I am not interested in a subscription so the comment reply to get a deal on one won't help this. Fixing the app will.

Used these cameras and apps for 5 years with SD card. Now, they are pushing hard for you to subscribe to their cloud monitoring, so anytime I want to view my recordings on SD card, their "try Cloud" ad pops up over my recordings and blocks the ability to click the recording. Do not buy these cameras. You won't be able to view your recordings on your SD card. Find another brand. Their ads have become out of control. I receive false positive alerts from the app all day long now - ads and ads.

App was great for years, but now there are several ads you have to constantly x out for a solid minute before viewing your cameras. Not thrilled at all. When I need to see the camera, I need to see it right then. This delay is a hazard. Barely getting notifications anymore. Had a fire next door last week and not ONE single Abnormal Noise Detected even though I had the alert at the lowest frequency & my smoke detectors were going off for an hour with firemen trying to get in to save my cats

lots of adds even if you pay cloud service be prepared for not being able to use you app unless you see the adds. all recordings are a waste as you can only see a portion that the app decides no matter what time you click on. be prepared for having to remove all kind of adds from your view before you can actually see the whole video screen. I just got tired of it and canceled this year. cameras are pretty good though.

This app is straight garbage now, full of ads, popups and ungodly sounds. Need to see a clip on an emergency? Nope, gotta watch an unskippable ad first! I've slowly replaced all my Yi cams with other cameras that do not have ads. Then they come on here saying some BS about paying for the ad free version. They should mention that before you buy these stupid cameras!

Edit 08/01/2025 Ads that prevent you from using your camera quickly, often times inappropriate I might add. For example: You have the camera pointed out the window so you can see who is at your door. You have to wait for a 15-45 second ad before you can view the feed. You can opt out of these ads in the app settings BUT it doesn't prevent you from seeing the ads. For your trouble they'll offer you a discount on their cloud service, lol! Very disappointing.

I press a time and try to watch the full video and it goes back to a previous time stamp and shows me that instead. It will go back 20 mins or more and I'll have to sit there and wait to see the video I want to view. If I do jump ahead it repeatedly shows me whatever clip it chooses to play over and over no matter what time I press. I've had a couple issues throughout the years but they have been resolved with no problem. Now I can't get customer service at all to even tell them the issue.

It was easy to set the camera, so I was hopeful this would be a really user-friendly experience. I connected to my Wi-Fi network and then connected to the app. But the app is terrible. no matter what I do I can't get the live feed to show up on the app despite the fact that it says I can monitor the camera live without a subscription or cloud services. All the app keeps doing is sending me back to pay. It won't show me a thing until I sign up for a subscription.KAMI HK. HOW TO CREATE A TICKET?

Update: After sending my issue to customer serv, it appears it's working as before & I can now view recorded alerts on SD card again, Thank you! I use an SD card for this camera. Up until yesterday the app worked ok, except for the ads...But now, I can't view anything that is supposedly captured on my SD card. When I try...to view an alert it immediately jumps back to Live feed.

the first, approximately 30 days were great; then it updated. Now, all of a sudden, it has difficulty connecting to my cameras. The worst issue, though, is all the ads. If you are keeping an eye on something, the ads render the camera useless. The ads also hijack the app and my internet browser. I switched to this app because the Yi app has the same issues. This manufacturer can care less about its customers. I'm done with Yi and Kami.

Wow!!! Just Wow!! Ive been a Kami/Yi Home customer for YEARS!!!! I used to LOVE the service and ease of use. Lately the app has not been working properly, the videos haven't been uploading to the cloud and the service keeps freezing up when I try to watch previous footage. Now my subscription is up for renewal and the prices have TRIPLED for the cloud service and there are ADS if you dont pay these new HUGE fees. They didnt even send a warning email for the price increase!!!! F!

It seems as the company is about to go bankrupt because they plastering the app with ads and they taking away features that were free and making them paid. The app screams an ad whenever you open it. There are ads on the bottom and all over the place. I had these cameras the YI's for over 6 years but this became unbearable. I don't even have the ability to watch 5 second clips without a subscription anymore. Edit: Offering a discount will not fix anything.

App works good, when you can get into it. The amount of ads is insane!! Then to close said ads it is the smallest click spot in the world and that opens of mot windows. Then you finally get in the app, a few minutes later to check the motion detection notification that you got and click and then another ad pops up when you switch cameras. I use these at my store and time is important on the notifications but the ads are no respecter of your time.

Unusable! The advertisements pop up or block me from using the app for more than 10 seconds. Can't dismiss the ads, can't click anything without my phone opening the play store. I have installed these cameras for myself, family, and friends, and recommend them constantly. NO MORE! I can't do anything with this app! UPDATE: used an analytics app to measure 98 ads PER ONE MINUTE being forced on my phone! Unbelievable!

I paid for these products. there are so many ads, some of which cannot be closed even when they show buttons to close them, requiring restarting the application and trying again. this is supposed to be a security application not a time wasting application. buy other security devices. don't give them your money. update reply: I've already paid. I don't want a subscription. I don't want a discount. I want a functioning product as advertised and paid for. this is despicable.

Unfortunately, the app's aggressive and excessive advertising makes it completely unfit for this purpose. ​The app is plagued with frequent, full-screen pop-up ads that are both long and disruptive. The most critical issue is that these ads appear when you are trying to view a live camera feed. Upon opening the app and selecting a camera, I am often forced to watch a minute long ad or am redirected completely out of the app . you have to pay an arm and a leg just to have 0 ads.

It's impossible to opt out of automatic payments on this appt. It saves your bank card information to keep charging you even after you try canceling, and the canceling never starts. Only auto payments continue. It used to be simpler, but the app changed now. It's impossible. I would never invest in these cameras again! Communication sucks. IMPOSSIBLE TO TALK TO A LIFE PERSON! CANCELING SUBSCRIPTION IS IMPOSSIBLE! HELLO!

We got these cameras so we can set them up using SD cards. I was fine when the ads were on the sides or were just a pop-up I could close. Now, the ads are full games that refuse to close until you've played it for a bit. Any thoughts I DID have on paying the subscription to access better features are certainly gone now. I'd much rather spend the money on a different company than pay this greedy company who would rather inconvenience their customers than make a good app.

At the time, the l cameras were so inexpensive and the app was functional. Over time, the ads have become more and more intrusive, the only way to be rid of the ads is to pay a subscription fee. Stay far away. Edit - they managed to make the app even worse as it shows an ad when trying to exit the app now as well. Amazingly bad. And the developer responding that I can purchase an upgrade for extra features and no ads is ridiculous.

Somethings to think about when you are considering a KAMI camera. You will have to buy a subscription, we had used the free version because we had some promotion when we first downloaded it and it was great. Once the update happened it is so horrible, ads are long and take forever, I have had it open on small screen to multitask and it never loads correctly. I don't understand how after buying the item we still have to buy an app or subscription. Very disappointed!
