Reviews for Kardia

← Back to Kardia

I like it the device but I get a lot of unclassified results, which aren't helpful. I have a major complaint about the new interface for entering my BP and pulse that just happened with the new. It used to be a simple, extremely quick process to type the numbers in. Now I have to "dial" to all 3 numbers separately, which takes a ridiculous amount of time and effort for something that was so simple before. Please allow for typing input again!

The device is fine, but nearly everything in the app is locked behind a subscription, including several 'types' of data reports (i.e. if you don't have a subscription, it will not tell you about PVEs even if the monitor detects them). I already paid nearly $200 for the device, I don't wanna pay an extra monthly subscription just to see the data from the device I already own. If you have the subscription, the app works okay, but you can't seem to export more than one report at a time. Tedious.

The user interface is awful. Most functions are oriented to the annual premium subscription service. Having purchased the device, there should be at least one free report for EKGs. In addition there is no way to check the connection/reconnect to the device without logging out, which causes the accumulated data to disappear. There is a warning to this effect. Simple device, but deficient app.

I subscribed, and the first time I used it after subscribing it sent a normal scan off for review without my input to do so, wasting one of the scans. The second time I sent a scan with an issue and the review was to a completely different scan. I said I will be canceling in an email. They canceled for me and kept my subscription money though it was only a few days past. Do NOT subscribe. They will rip you off.

I've been using this device and app since 2015. In the previous versions, scans could be marked as favorite with a yellow star directly from the list of scans in the history (Health Diary). Now scans can only be 'starred" if you click on the scan and open it. This isnt too bad, but you also have to open it to even determin if it was marked as a favorite where before the yellow star appeared along with time, heart rate, and classification (normal, tachacardic, atrial fib, unclassified, etc).

Great hardware, great idea but there are problems. First, they can't seem to decide whether to be a hardware company or a subscription one so they are constantly trying to upsell you the subscription service. Please stop that. Second they did have a nice feature that allows you to record other metrics such as bp and weight that were free, but they "upgraded” the software and now the app crashes when you try to use them. I am now recommending to people they just get an apple watch.

This seems good at verifying fibrillation (though, in my experience, when it's bad you know it's happening anyway). On the downside, some of its diagnostic results are hidden behind a premium subscription which the initial cost of the device does not cover, it frequently advertises upgrades, and some of its data export functions are also subscription-only. You can get around that by just showing your phone to your doctor or exporting individual reports as PDFs, but it's a pain.

A 30 second EKG is like a 1 second breathalyzer. Based on using this product, which works very well as far as I can tell, I likely have arrhythmia & haven't had it properly diagnosed. I can only tell I might have arrhythmia by how my heart feels at times & that I've been able to capture that to a small degree using this when I was aware the arrhythmia was happening. If they allowed a recording time of 3 or more minutes, I would give it more stars. As-is, it's not sufficient. Needs more work.

Needs a section to store note templates. I use Kardia to keep a daily record (by time) for my heart, diabetes and sleep apnea. Lots of different data. Templates I could set up for each type of data would be great. Oh, enlarging the note box so you could see four lines of writing without having to open the box - spectacular. THANKS FOR A GREAT APP! But you did ask.

This app has always worked quickly and correctly, but after getting a new Motorola G power 5G I have had problems. It worked normally for the first couple days until I received an automatic download of Android 15. Since then it has been unreliable. I replaced the battery, it worked once and then wouldn't connect. I finally found some connecting instruction, seemingly hidden, in the app and it worked again. Now it's not connecting again. I will continue trying but it appears that there may b

Please fix the blood pressure and weight graphs. I press to view a year and I just get two dots with the last two monthly averages. Please show all the data points, or at least daily/weekly averages, so I can see trends. And please actually show a year's worth. Zooming the graph frequently makes the data disappear. Remove the useless hour option. I'm not entering my weight every 10 minutes.

It is very difficult to get a reading without (what the app claims is) interference. It takes me 4 or 5 tries to get a reading that it says is usable. I've followed online instructions for improved readings, but nothing seems to help. By the time you get a usable reading, whatever arythmia you were concerned about is gone. I'm starting to suspect that it treats arythmias as bad readings, and won't save them.

Update: I like the update. No more Price is Right scrolling. Thank you! This app was a lot better when I could manually type in my blood pressure rather than have to scroll through the numbers. I don't like having to play Price is Right just to be able to input my numbers. Sure I can type them in, but if I hit ok instead of done, then it goes back to 120/80. Very frustrating.

Additional Edit: Once again they have "improved" this app by making it impossible to save the results with one step. Formerly, you could just hit EMAIL and direct it to (in my case) a DropBox folder. Now you have to download the PDF and from your PDF viewer save it to (again in my case) DropBox. At least they removed the annoying Asian Font and the files are back to a manageable size, again. Thanks for that, at least, AliveCor. EDIT: Unnecessary addition of Asian Fonts to all PDFs problem solved, for the most part. If you Save As Optimized PDF, you can reduce a 1 lead file from 2500 KB to about 280 KB. It isn't as good as it used to be at 60 KB, but it is still a vast improvement over what we have been struggling with. A better option would be to allow us to opt out of this "feature", but that isn't happening soon. I own and use the 6L version of the device. This device and app take a pretty good EKG when used correctly. For me, I need to have some electrode gel on the pads to get a clear reading, but I have some fairly substantial calluses on my fingers, so I don't hold that against the device. Although it only claims to detect atrial fibrillation, it also correctly detected tachycardia the one time I checked what seemed like a fast heartbeat. Taking an EKG during an episode is very desirable to have your doctor know exactly what is going on. It was easy to set up and sending the results to a folder in DropBox is a snap. Sending the EKG directly to my doctor was not an option due to the Hippa (?) laws, but I was able to send a link to the folder on DropBox that they could access quite easily, along with an entire slew of previous readings for reference. I hope that they are working on getting clearance to detect other things as they become proven to be effective. So far, only the first line of the 6 line EKG seems to be used by the device, but the other 5 lines are there and must have some info, too. I would recommend this app and device for the peace of mind alone, if you have unusual feelings from your heart. Additional info from July, 2020: After using this device for over half a year, I still like it. It is fairly easy to use, but sometimes I need to add gel to get a good reading. There are a couple of things I'd like to see added to the software. When I have an unusual reading, I'd like to be able to have that included in the file name, if possible. Perhaps have it end with a "T" for tachycardia or "U" for unclassified. Also, as mentioned above, sometimes I have to use electrode gel and sometimes I don't. If it were possible to set up 3 or 4 custom, but ready-to-go notes to add to the comments without having to use the phone's keypad (hard for us older folks), that would also be nice. I'd do something like gel or no gel, personally. Still love the app, though.

Saving the data is Really Difficult to do on an Android. The gadget is great and I'm thankful for it but the flow of information appears to stop with me. I save the reports, I have months of readings, but I have no idea where it goes on the phone and no way to send it to my doctor. It doesn't communicate with my BP machine. Maybe this is all just a training issue. But I've used Computers ir 40 yrs and Windows for 30 years. So I'm not computer illiterate... disappointing and frustrating

Great device. Only thing I don't like is the minute you open the app to take a reading you get an ad to buy upgraded service. I understand business side of medical devices, but everytime! Once or twice a week is plenty. It gets to the point you know it is an ad and you click out before even reading. Again very helpful device for piece of mind, and worth the money.

App is very good, but always prompting me to upgrade, which is annoying. My cardiologist recommended it. I use it with the thin credit card recorder, which I can keep in my wallet or phone case. very easy to use. Only other downside is that it is too many steps to get to view your EKG in landscape mode I usually run it for 60 seconds, and I want to be able to view the result in landscape so I see more at once, and don't have to scroll as much.

Seldom works. Gives errors that say it can't read results due to noise. Have tried everything I can think of and everything suggested in the help files with no difference. It occasionally works but not enough so that I feel that the KardiaMobile was money well spent. I certainly am not inclined to pay a monthly fee for a product that doesn't work reliably. I would not recommend this product or app.

App freezes after login on 2 different devices. We have 2 Androids (Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel). On both phones, I install the app, login with my existing account, and then get a permanent solid white screen that never takes me to anything. I tried: closing and reopening, force closing and reopening, uninstalling and reinstalling, rebooting phone then opening, all with the same results. Since the product can't be used without a phone, this makes the product I just bought useless.

Unit is ok, but not great. Doesn't do a good job for people with tremors such as Parkinson's or Essential Tremors. It can be hard to get a stable reading. Also, have had issues with schmutz getting into the battery compartment. Then, even though it shows 66% battery level it failed to get a reading. I clean out the gunk and it works fine, with the old battery. And while I'm being picky, why did they pick a coin cell size that seems to be rare instead of a ubiquitous size like 2032?
