Been using the Kauai GPS Audio Tour Guide for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that gives you self-guided audio tours around the island. Basically you just hit play and it’ll give you directions, stories about the places you’re seeing, and local Hawaiian music. Pretty cool if you’re planning a trip to Kauai.
The app’s got four different tours that cover all the main spots – Hanalei, Princeville, Waimea Canyon, Hanapepe, Poipu, Lihue, Koloa Town, and more. There’s also an offline map that works even when you don’t have data, so you can explore the remote parts of the island without getting lost. Took me a while to figure out how to use the map at first, but once I got the hang of it, it’s been super useful.
Look, if you’re visiting Kauai, this app’s a pretty good way to see the island on your own schedule. It’s not perfect – the audio sometimes cuts out in spotty cell coverage areas – but overall it does the job and is way cheaper than hiring a tour guide. Worth checking out for sure.
