I also had to Uninstall and reinstall. Before "the crash" when it kept freezing up on me, I enjoyed being able to keep my place with the highlighter and count my rows. Sometimes my finger would land in the screen and it would make a strange noise and then a red diamond with a dot inside of it would appear. It didn't move, and I cannot figure out what the purpose of it is. Other than that, it was working great. I'm about to go try again after the reinstall.

I LOVE this app! So easy to take with me everywhere I go since I use it on my phone and my phone is always with me. The best part is that it links to Ravelry so I can access endless patterns, including my library. And all the features and functions!...it basically does everything I can possibly need when following a pattern. I've saved many trees since downloading knitCompanion because I haven't used a paper pattern since! ☺️

LOVE this app. I have been knitting several charted projects recently, and have been impressed enough to subscribe. I liked adding info to the charts (grams of yarn remaining, adding lines for where I want my repeat markers (hint: putting a marker in the middle of st that become K3 tog is stupid)). The timer has been an unexpected benefit. I usually don't want to know how long it takes to complete a project, but it's helping me be realistic about some deadline knitting for Christmas right now!

Tech Support is slow. I didn't get prompted for the tutorial when I got the app so I learned how to.use it on my own. I am half way done with a project and just now went into setting and saw that the "knitters name" was something random so I changed it to mine not knowing that would lock my project. Now I cannot access and have been going back and forth with their support all day since about 3:45 in the afternoon. I guess they just went home after telling me they could fix it after sending them

Horrible app. Get a file open and five seconds to a maximum of three minutes later it crashes. Go through the opening process again... again crash in under three minutes. Every time. I've seen people raving about this app, unfortunately they all use an apple product. So I'm left to assume that the creators of this app just don't wish to have other users.

I have loved the app for years, but something has happened that makes it unusable on my tablet. I'm writing this on my phone because the app store refuses to access or even see the knitcompanion page. I can't use the edit feature or the line markers. It's now useless to me. I could leave it on my phone, but I have all of my patterns downloaded on my tablet. I'll just be printing patterns from now on.

The subscription model for this app appears to have changed, so it is free version + higher price version, rather than also having a cheaper sub version. There appears to have been no warning about this change, and I have no idea what my sub this year is paying for. I keep being redirected to the higher priced sub inside the app. I have no idea if I lose any features by swapping to the free version. And if I don't, I appear to have paid a sub this year for something that should have been free.

I was a paid subscriber on Android for years. The apple version kept improving, while the Android version stayed bare bones. I was happy overall, so kept renewing. In Oct 2022, the app stopped realizing i had paid. I couldn't access features even though I was paid up. More than 15 emails to support later, all my history was lost and they never figured out how to reconnect my account. It was a blessing in disguise. I found the row counter app which is much better and actually syncs across devices

I love Knit Companion and am an Android user. Ever since the recent update, my star place holder doesn't work like before. I press where I want it to be and it doesn't show up like before or ends up in a different place on the page. I knit almost exclusively with your app and have never had this problem until the recent update. Please help! Thanks so much. This issue was indeed addressed and corrected in your latest update, so I have rated you at 5 stars. Thanks so much for your attention! 🤩🧶

Crashes frequently. Drains my battery in record time. Not sure what all the fuss is about, but I guess if you're an iOS user it has a lot more features. As it is, if you can get past the crashing and battery drain, the free version has all the tools I would use. The paid version isn't worth it; maybe it if ever becomes a first class citizen instead of the red headed step child of the iOS app it might be.

I have been using this app for 2 yrs now and could not be happier with it. I was shocked to read that some really seem to hate it. I personally have not had an issue with it outside of operator error. I love having all my patterns in one place, being able to zoom in so I can see clearly, and I have never lost my place because I can highlight where I left off. I use the free version and am able to up load patterns from books I have which I love. Sorry so many have issues with it.

Very useful, though it tries to make itself the default app for pdf files in android. [edit to update] I don't have problems others have noted regarding not using drop box (workaround, download the file, open in knit companion. The file's full path is already linked. It had problems originally (about 2 years ago) with crashing, that seems to have been fixed. I use the free version. and if I am reviewing something on my phone, I tend to be terse.

I have been using the paid version for about a year. I like it pretty well but have an issue with one project not loading today after using it since Sept 2018. I have attempted to create a support ticket online using Chrome & Edge but the ticket page sits there "uploading". I am extremely frustrated. I have tried forcing the app to stop. I've restarted my Kindle. No luck. Needless to say I will not be renewing my subscription. I feel it is overpriced anyway at $10 a year.

I liked this app, used it regularly, decided to upgrade, didn't see any difference in the options for Android so I went back to the basic app. And that's where you get the shaft. The background color is locked on glaring yellow and you can't change it without subscription. You give Apple users WAY more options and still make Android users pay to upgrade for the options they don't get. The basic version wasn't locked on a yellow page before, I used this for a long time before I upgraded. Junk.

The differences between Android and iPad versions are significant. It doesn't hardly let you adjust any settings on this version, and there are not two different subscription options. The patterns are also not shown in a photo grid.. just list with the names. This is frustrating as I'd like to use this on the go and my phone is an Android. Also.. it would be nice to be able to have an account across multiple devices, because right now I can't use it on my bigger iPad screen and then on my phone.

I like this app to keep track of my rows and stitches. The manual can be vastly improved for instructions on how to assemble linked markers. Setup is very nice, but I am using it on a phone and cannot get it to crop and join charts because the phone is too small and unresponsive. I really, really, REALLY want this app on my desktop where I have a mouse! Having this as a desktop would make it the best on the market. I could edit my patterns, then send them to my phone to knit.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP. The app is certainly an improvement over trying to keep track of my rows on a computer (since I do not have access to a printer), but I keep seeing/hearing about additional functionality that would be useful (e.g., ability to crop to edges of chart, ability to color code by chart symbol, etc.) that are not available on the Android app. The fact that there seems to be no intention of bringing these features to the Android version means I cannot recommend it.

I love this app!! Being able to highlight sections and carry projects with me so I don't have to use paper is great! The ability to use it off line is a plus because i can download other pdf. Files and read them on the go. It is great for my crossstitch as well!! I see on the reviews that others are having tech issues but i have not encountered them. I know this is a new app that is in the process of growth. Keep up the good work!! You have a customer for life!!

I like the idea of this app more than the execution of it. It uses a bunch of symbols for its primary navigation that just don't mean anything to me. I had to go to FAQs on their website to figure out basic features. Uploading a PDF, a core feature, is not supported within the app. You have to locate the downloaded file on your device and choose to use it in the kC app. It's weird to have to leave an app so many times to interact with it. Not sure I'll keep this one installed.

Convenient; does what I need. I shouldn't have to install an app to find out price. Your website with video tutorials etc. has an FAQ with a "paid options and cost" entry. Guess what info is conspicuously absent? Yeah it's the cost. Tell. Me. The. Cost. Up. Front. I want to know the pricing for all available tiers. A knitting app is not an "if you have to ask you can't afford it" moment. Pricing is public information. EDIT: gimme numbers and a currency; I can look that up, easy.
