Reviews for KOCOWA+: K-Dramas, Movies & TV

← Back to KOCOWA+: K-Dramas, Movies & TV

I love running man, and kpop content, that is why I purchased the subscription, however is just a headache, it keeps freezing, not loading, closing the app, sometimes it has the subtitles and the next second they disappear. I've had to uninstall it and then reinstall it everytime and even then it still doesn't work!.This needs a fixing as soon as possible. Is just so annoying lately.

Just paid for premium and I wanted to use this on my firestick. It's absolutely ridiculous. It keeps freezing, pausing, lagging or the app keeps restarting, it's just unwatchable. I've had to uninstall it and then reinstall it everytime and even then it still doesn't work! It's bugging my firestick too! This needs a fix asap.

[Later edit: now a bit more stable but will be contacting support.] The range of shows available is good but the app keeps freezing all the time and sometimes the subtitles vanish even when it doesn't freeze altogether. That is with stable wifi and the app being up to date. Downloading and watching offline is a problem too, which was really frustrating when I was on long flights. I'd like watchlists to be an option as well as favourites.

Everytime I pause and leave the app to look at something else and try to resume my show it won't let me watch. So annoying. UI/UX needs a lot of work. Also no Korean captioning for Korean shows? Can't turn off English subtitles on app no matter how many times I go and check no subtitles as well. Make it make sense.

Forces you join immediately without sampling to see if you like it or not. I immediately uninstalled and canceled the app. It's too complicated. The chinese apps were so much easier and offered some free movies to watch. I prefer to try to sample and decide if I want to subscribe or not, but I don't like being forced to make a decision immediately.

I did the 14-day free trial, but there weren't many shows that piqued my interest. I started watching a show but abandoned the app after it got boring. I forgot to cancel my trial, and this app tried to charge me 9 times. I went to cancel, and there wasn't a single place to do so. I even looked up directions online, and the cancel plan button was not there. You can't cancel unless you have a subscription, not the free trial. It will continue to charge you, so beware of the free trial.

Lot of bugs The app is installed on my tv. It closes out randomly. And every episode, I have to type in the title and look for the episode. If I go back, the app closes out. On the continue watching section, only the first episode Ive watched is available...but it starts over. It doesn't continue from where you left off. No nothing is wrong with my tv, all other apps work. I have the latest version. The app is not user friendly at all.

Four stars for controls and occasional weird buggy behavior on my roku but five stars for content. Especially since it is the only ap in my area that has the full catalog of Midnight Horror Story episodes!!!!!!!!! That alone is worth 5 stars. I do wish there were more ways to filter my search and favorites, I also wish there were more spots on my favorite list.

I like Kocowa because it has Korean content only. I do have Vicki and i like their app but i have to fish through all the other countries contents. The issue i have with this app is the auto play. I set to auto play in settings next episode in settings but when I'm casting to the TV it does not work. So I have to go to my phone to stop casting then scroll down to the 80th episode then recast to the TV. It also freezes up alot It would be nice if you can make this app more user friendly.

Update: I actually enjoyed watching the on the Kocowa app, but I haven't gotten to watch this month because my annual subscription suddenly stopped working after I already paid and Google says it's still active. It's been over a week and customer service still hasn't gotten back to me. In the past it usually only took one or two days to get a response when I had an issue. I rather just keep Viki only if the service has gotten this bad.

Hi! I usually use this app to watch on my TV with Google cast, but for a few months now it's been buggy, and it won't play without buffering every few seconds even more recently which makes it unusable. I also reached out to support a while ago and got no response. I used to love kocowa so much but I'm so upset that that videos won't load on Chromecast (they only load for a split second and then it closes without even showing up on TV).

My biggest problem, glitches aside, is the fact that I can no longer watch any content on my phone. I have no idea why it has changed to subscribers only being able to watch on casted devices. I'm not always somewhere I can cast of download the app on another device. Having it on my phone just seems repetitive and pointless if I have to watch somewhere else. Sometimes I just want to enjoy an episode in my free time.

Great content and organized well enough, but still quirky. It needs a specific menu for "continue watching" - a list of shows you're currently watching on the main landing page to make it easier to find the specific episode you're on and antinue where you left off. The "history" tab is ok, but shows each individual episode you've completed only.

I love this app. I switched from Viki after they suddenly took away access to 95% of all Running Man episodes. Kocowa+ has nearly all episodes and keeps adding more classics weekly! Plus, Eng subtitles are quick. Just a bit bummed because, despite having premium subscription, I've been locked from certain videos. I put in a help request two days ago (Thursday), and I haven't heard back. I only wish they had more prompt help. EDIT: Bug fixed 5 days later. Still way better than VIKI app!

Do not download for Google Android, especially versions above 10 . Interface on Android is so much more limited than on Roku and Apple (and even earlier versions of Android). I've actually watched the menu features, like the one listing newest episodes, get reduced with new versions. I was so fed up with how limited the Android version of Kocowa app was that I cancelled my direct subscription and switched to another service where Kocowa is an add-on (same price, 1-day delay for updates).

I loved using KOCOWA to watch different shows that I bookmarked in my spare time and it was a nice way to enjoy myself. Now, not so much. You can't sign in on the Roku if you don't have a premium account but online or on the app it's fine. My main issue is that I can no longer watch a single episode of any show because they are all locked. I don't care how many ads I watch because it doesn't bother me but I would at least like to see something. Please unlock older episodes again.

It's pretty good usually, but there are random days when I can't log in or can't play videos. Don't sign up with a gmail address. It causes problems. Also, I recommend signing up through a computer's web browser instead of a phone, then finding things you want through the phone app, and finally, actually watching those things on your TV. (The Android app is better for finding content than the "Android TV" app is.)

I really thought that everyone was exaggerating when they would leave reviews about how bad the app is. This is literally one of the worst functioning apps. It stops working on my TV and if it plays on my phone it will not transfer it to the TV. It's always an error about the server or something else. Within this current instance, the app just went blank on my TV with an "unknown error" It's not worth it to get invested in a show, only to end up not being able to watch it. Ruins the experience.

I love the variety of shows available, running man a particular fav since its all subtitled. however, the app itself needs to update with essential features. 1. ability to stream while other apps are up (split screen on iPad, etc). 2. ability to background download (i can only download while in app). 3. needs to stay logged in while I have no internet (i was on a cruise with no internet and could not access my downloads bc it kicked me out).

content is great, but the app leaves a lot to be desired. after every episode I have to clear cache to watch next episode. Can't get tech support to fix a typo in my email adress so can't verify the account. continue watching often is on the wrong episode if it shows at all. I find myself turning to other apps that aren't so buggy. roku app is better but leaves a bit to be desired.
