Awful. You can not see your reservations. I am trying to cancel my reservation to reserve for a another time, but I can't find it. When I try to reserve, it says this phone number already has a reservation, and you need to cancel it first, but there is no place to see my reservation.
Reviews for Kura Sushi Rewards
← Back to Kura Sushi RewardsThis was our very first time attending this type of restaurant and we loved it! the whole experience was great and we had a blast. definitely recommend for a smaller group due to seating arrangements. our group was only 3 of us so we sat like Bar style. it was fun choosing the plates from the conveyor belt and getting to 15 plates to get a lil prize. Will be returning for sure
This app ruined our experience. First time use. When we made a reservation through the app and checked on later we didn't see that reservation again. So we made another reservation which overwrote original one with a longer wait time. Then we cancelled newer reservation and both were cancelled. Ended up going elsewhere. There needs to be a better identification of reservation within the app.
When the app says "verify your birthday, you can only enter this once" they are not kidding. So if you accidentally enter current year 2023, which to be fair there is a pop-up that I accidentally clicked as I was going to fast, it will straight up delete your account as you are in violation of the terms of service! And now it won't let me make a new account with the same email! Like I'm not even asking for my old points back, I just want to use the new app. Emailed support with no response.
Online order page is very hard to use. the page reloads every time and clears cookies, it loses the Square login information each time. There is no persistent shopping cart probably for the same reason. I accidentally clicked a different tab then coming back to the order page and see my cart all empty and have to order everything again. Finally GPay does not work and has an error message because it is not using Chrome browser.
Reward points do not accrue and instead are immediately converted to coupons that expire within weeks. We had a big meal with family today and earned points that were directly converted by the app into $20 worth of coupons, but they will be worthless because they expire in just 20 days and we have no plans on going back that soon. EDIT: I just read the fine print and it's even worse, since you can only redeem up to $10 in coupons per visit (and only $5 for online orders).
God awful app experience. Every single screen takes several seconds to load. Trying to do a mobile order is an absolute nightmare. If you leave the screen, your order gets cleared. Trying to pay and enter your Google Pay will cause your order to fail. Trying to redeem the coupons will require you to have it saved prior, without having the option to copy and paste it. If you try to check your coupon during your order, it clears out your order. Last, they default a tip when doing pickup. Terrible.
Amazing food and the place is awesome, but the app desperately needs work. I logged into my dad's account to join the wait list once. It's been over 5+ months, and with constant trying to make my own account, it continues to say Already reached the limit of shared accounts on this device. I've cleared all the data on this app aswell as the cache and it still doesn't work. I would love to have this app but it continues to not let me even make an account. Food is great though
Good app and restaurant! 3 stars though because I think it's really silly that points are automatically used once you earn enough for rewards. It's inconvenient that the coupons expire in 2 weeks and I didn't even want to redeem my points for them yet. 😕 making the user able to redeem points for coupons when they want to would make this app 5 stars!
The change to the app and reservation process is now terrible. I put in a reservation for a specific but this doesn't recognize that time only one you physically log in at the restaurant. Please fix your reservation system or go back to join the waiting list. also cannot even leave a review in the app currently because it errors out
This was my first time visiting this chain. The staff was super helpful and explained how everything works if you're new to the restaurant. The food and the service was great even during the lunch rush hours. The wait times will vary depending on what time you show up but using their app makes it easy. It's cool we get these popular Japanese restaurants in the states.
The app is easy to use and helps me secure a spot in the waitlist instead of doing it on a tablet when I get to the restaurant. Love how I can track my rewards and coupons so easily. My only criticism is I've been using the apps since 8/23 and I have never been able to use self-checkout due to technical issues; I need to ask for the help of a staff member to scan the QR code on my screen.
Terrible. Was forced to use this new app to find out that it STILL does let let you pay - have to go to their website for that. Inside the place, I tried to scan the receipt barcode 5 times with no success, had to ask the staff to scan my barcode in the app, into their device. There are 2 places for coupons - super confusing to find and not intuitive to use. 1/5 all in all...
Wait list works fine, new reward program rules are not very good. If you earn points for discounts on your next meal, you have to use them within the next couple weeks. They automatically redeem once you hit the threshold. Previously you can use the rewards on your next visit within a reasonable amount of time. You also can only use two coupons at a time so if you earned a lot of points for one meal, the other points go to waste.
App is only a loyalty card, rewards model isn't worth it. You get a $5 coupon every $50 dollars that is auto redeemed when you have enough points and expires in 3 weeks. The sushis not exactly cheap, so pushing a coupon that expires is useless to me. It's just not reasonable enough to come so frequently. You can't even bank the points for later. The app doesn't even keep track of your plates per transaction, only an arbitrary lifetime count. The apps not really worth the space on your phone
No point in using the app unless you eat there every 2-3 weeks. Rewards automatically redeem and then expire shortly. Example - I went there today (3/9/24) for a big meal and four $5 rewards auto-redeemed and they expire on 3/29/24. And you can't use more than two rewards on the same transaction. These are basically useless unless you live next door and go there every week. If you're in that latter 1% then yeah, I guess this app and rewards program is for you!
As others have pointed out, the rewards program is basically useless. When you hit 500 points, it auto issues a $5 coupon that expires in less than 3 weeks, and you can only redeem $10. I never received an email or notification about a reward - the app just shows missing points. I emailed reward support and got no response after 2 weeks, so I forwarded that to customer support and found all this out. I'm an hour away from the place, so this is not encouraging a return visit from me.
Horrible app experience, trying to sign in only allows for two ways, Facebook and email. The only way to earn points is through dining in apparently since ordering online and through the app ends up with your order not being tracked for rewards. Also if you try to add another account so you can correctly get points it says "the device is already shared with maximum number of guests". You end up never being able to earn points on the app or online since there is no barcode for you to scan.
The only useful thing this app has is reservations. When you earn loyalty points the app will automatically cash them out without notifying you, and the reward expires in 3 weeks, not even 30 days. meaning it's 100% possible (and intentional, as confirmed by their customer support) that your points will automatically disappear without you choosing it. so unless you are spending hundreds here a month, you will never get a reward back, but you will get dozens of spam texts :)
I had hoped that with the new app they would have fixed the biggest issue with the last one, the insultingly short coupon expiration time, but no. The coupons still expires in just 3 weeks. Not only is my frequency of visiting Kura limited by the time it takes to drive there, but I also can only afford to go there very sparingly. I am absolutely not going there every 3 weeks, which entirely negates any benefits of the app. It would be better for Kura to not even have rewards.
