The best MC route planning software for me. The learning curve is a little steep, but it has intuitive features once you get used to it. I like that you can display the various grades of curvature on one map. The export facility is good with many options for importing to other software available. The software is too expensive, there are few features to separate tiers. The Help Forums are a crazy mix of German and English. The mods need to stamp their authority on this. English pls.
Reviews for Kurviger Motorcycle Navigation
← Back to Kurviger Motorcycle Navigationlooks great, easy planning, still need to get out and use it though.
Very good app for generating random rides. Great that it works with Android Auto.
I've used 5 minutes and it already beat 8 other apps I've tried. I'll update as I go along.
It is a great rout planning and navigation app. Easy to use but there was an issue with tourer+ rights also that the app exitinig / drops suddanly to home screen during active navigation on galaxy s22 ( Android ver 14 ). I could not found any setup ( regading battery using or do not sleep the app it can use the net in backgound ) which could solve this issue. Update : final solution was the A15 update, sw is working now properly :) No special settings needed in android.
Might be good for creating routes for you, but if you want to plan it is infuriating. Planned routes are moved around and generaly messed up when you try and make changes to an existing route. Nightmare and not worth the stress. They need a manual planning mode like MRA has out of the box which allows full control over route planning process. Cancelled my subscription.
An amazing app. Just used it to do a tour of France. Took me on some of the most amazing roads of my life and I didn't even have to plan/think about it! Just follow the Satnav and there you are on the best, emptiest, most curvaceous roads you can imagine. It does occasionally try to take you down a "road" that might more appropriately need climbing gear (I exaggerate, of course) but that actually added to the charm/adventure for me. Totally worth the €30 pro version. Cheers!
There is no way/option to plot a route in offline mode. What are offline maps for then?? Complete waste of money. ADD: The map alone without navigation is useless while riding or driving, not to mention super unsafe. So still: a complete waste of money. I don't mean to be rude, I develop apps and programs myself, I know how much work is needed to add one feature, but this is no joke.
Unfortunately, not very useful in United States. First, finding the address in US is difficult. When searching using full address with zip code, the app actually shows results that are outside of US. I paid for annual subscription but decided to cancel it and will try another app. One thing I do not like is that the app remembers previous settings for a route. It should start clean and ready for a new ride instead.
this is the worst junk app I've ever used. simple things like just want to create a new route are painful. I've paid and will delete and say goodbye to this garbage. I wish zero ⭐ was an option
Horrible algorithm and outright dangerous. I paid for the Pro+ version expecting thrilling curvy roads, but instead the app routed me through parking lots, gated communities, schools, strip malls—even private driveways! This isn’t just clueless about what riders want, it’s a serious safety hazard. Avoid this app at all costs!
Pleasantly surprised by the capability of this app. In most cases where I thought to myself, "I wonder if it can do this", the app proceeded to follow through. There is a lot of attention to detail, which makes me think that the devs are either riders themselves or have done their research. The only downside worth mentioning is the response from the Address Search Providers are not intuitive. Many times I had to resort to Google Maps in order to copy the coordinates of x location.
This is by far the best navigation app I've ever used. it's not perfect at everything. it doesn't and won't have live traffic or road closures. but there isn't a better route planning app out there for choosing exactly what you want, the roads you want, the areas you want, and good turn by turn navigation. it's amazing at what it does and I'm really happy with it
Could be a lot better. While riding through a tunnel, it stops moving in the map. Other navi apps have a logic that moves your actual position towards the tunnel exit. Also, if at any point during a ride, the GPS signal is lost, it will lose the tracked route until that point. So at the end of the ride, the tracked route will show only the last 80km instead of the full 250km trip. Also many more bugs found while creating/editing routes. It looks like the app is not really tested before release.
I have enjoyed using this app for my rides, whether I sit at the computer and load in the app or plan an impromptu ride on the phone app. I am connected using Bluetooth for ride instructions through my helmet Sena device. The instructions are clear, accurate, and easy to follow. I often just put the app in record mode and ride, editing it on the PC later for the group rides, including stops for fuel and food. Adding waypoints and modifications to the route is a breeze.
I like it so far! Love the customizability, so many map base layer choices. Cool to see planned routes saved on the map (actually, it'd be cool to see a feature that does that with previously ridden routes--sometimes I accidentally ride the same roads more than once when trying to plan routes with new roads.) Anyway, I look forward to using this more. Thanks.
I love traveling in my camper van using this app. It's great for traveling the scenic back roads. Anyway, for those people who say that they can't use kurviger for finding USA addresses, there is a workaround. Use the satellite layer in Google maps and select either a building or parking lot or whatever near the address. Once you have created a temporary map point in Google maps, then copy the latitude and longitude coordinates into kurviger.
Before paying for Tourer+ everything felt very confusing, some buttons didn't work, I couldn't finish a ride, it was stuck on an infinite spinner. Once you pay for Tourer+ the app seems to work well. I like that it supports Android Auto. The UI is not very intuitive. Battery usage is higher compared to other apps, Kurviger used ~15% (AA) on a trip where Google Maps used ~5%. I'm not expecting Kurviger to be as optimized as Google Maps but it would be nice if that can be improved. Price is fair.
I can't speak to the free app, as I went for Tourer Plus to get the advanced route planning. It is dirt cheap for what you get. There is a learning curve, which accounts for most of the negative comments. once you figure out the difference between way points and shaping points, learn how to skip stops so the map doesn't have you u-turning, etc, it will absolutely find the best curvy roads. if I want fastest route, I use Google maps. This is great for what it is meant to do.
Nice app that is clearly geared towards European riders. In the US, I have trouble getting it to recognize US addresses (with either map source). Love that it has Android Auto integration. The interface could use some simplifying. Also, please allow us to change the speed of the voice. It talks so fast!
