did not think it was any more effective than duolingo for a language app. not that it was the worst, but I think it was very limited and unorganized for its program. the ads are way too over the top for what it provides. at the end of the day, you'll still have to do your own studying, speaking, and reading outside of the app to truly grasp and speak a new language. the only reason I give it as low as two stars are the app's relative clunky feeling and their help line is not the most effective.

The microphone doesn't work well at all with this app. I've been trying to learn Russian, and despite saying a basic 2 word greeting phrase a thousand times over, it either doesn't pick up any recording at all or it says I didn't say it right. It's to the point where it's impossible to do any speaking lesson with it. I hope they can improve upon this problem, and if they do I'll give it a better score, but right now it's trash.
after reading through the other reviews, all 4000+ of them. There is no possible way this app is rated 4.4-5 stars. It. Is. Terrible. To other developers, DO NOT TRAIN YOUR AI MODEL ON MULTIPLE LANGUAGES!!! They have limited recall, and AT MOST! Could teach 3 languages 100PERCENT PROPERLY!!! Please don't go for the money grab, go for the quality product.
Jumpspeak uses deceptive advertising!! There is no mention of a "Premium AI" subscription plan until you purchase the "Premium" plan. Then you learn you must spend an additional $98.99/year for the AI features. Again, AI features are included in the Google Play description, but there is NO MENTION of the "Premium AI" plan which must be purchased in-app, required to use them! I couldn't even find pricing for the "Premium AI" plan online. I's revealed only after they get your $$$$!
I'm not exactly sure how I'm supposed to learn anything. The lessons are short, and don't really give you a chance to really learn anything. By the next lesson they show you more of the same, just more words that you don't understand, and in longer sentences. If you go to the 'vocabulary' section you're supposed to match written words that you haven't learned. Then have you put into order phrases that are spoken so fast that you can't understand what order to put them in w/o making multiple mis
The very first lesson has a bug that won't accept the correct answer. This does not bode well. There was absolutely no way to report it. So far, even at the very basic level it is asking for complete sentences with words I've never heard before. Now my only thought is how to get my money back. Update: use headphones on the conversation part, because the app will hear itself talking and think it's you talking and mark it correct. Dumb.
After seeing adverts for this app, it looked amazing, and I was intrigued to purchase, but I've since discovered it's lacking in so many places. Nowhere can I learn the verbs. The conversations are way too difficult for a beginner, and even the learning words section has sentences without any helpful explanations. You have to pay extra for Ai conversations, which doesn't surprise me, so after previously using Duo Lingo,I think I much prefer that. I'd avoid this if I were you, so disappointing 😔
I feel like the app is timing out when I'm speaking - it's not always picking up everything I say. Then when I am heard completely, there's no feedback on what I'm doing right or wrong. Just a percentage score which doesn't tell me anything. So it's OK but it's not this wizz bang Gen AI feedback that helps correct and accelerate your pronunciation. Also, if you're learning a new alphabet, "writing" phonetic words does nothing to help you read Cyrillic or Japanese or whatever.
An excellent application and very helpful for learning a language. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 Stars is I feel like the info provided to get me to purchase was a bit of a "bait and switch". Everything I watched prior to purchasing the program showed the students having and practicing conversations in Spanish with AI tutors. I am thinking, what a great use of AI technology, only to find out the AI and video lessons cost extra, above and beyond the original advertised price. I feel cheated.
It's like a broken low budget Duolingo. I have to skip lessons because it has on and off issues with speaking. They say to sign out and on again but it still doesn't work with random speaking lessons. I came on with about 6 mo of Duolingo and wanted more with a different approach and this has not been a good addition. I started it as a beginner level and it will place sentences with words never gone over and no explanation making it very frustrating.
