The best app I've found for turning the phone into a streaming camera. I've used it to broadcast live streams from events on Facebook with obs using rtmp. Sadly the video quality leaves some to be desired compared to the Galaxy S10+'s native camera app, especially autofocus, white balance and brightness. Same can be said for the UI, I'd sure like to be able to assign the volume keys to zoom in/out and click-to-focus. I also want 30fps in 1080p. But this is still best in class currently.
Reviews for Larix Broadcaster: Live Stream
← Back to Larix Broadcaster: Live StreamOne or the best app if you want to stream, it works perfectly and without fail. When can we get a feature to put graphic on the livestream. One more thing exciting is that you can stream both on two social media platforms at the same time without any problem. I use this app every Sunday for livestreams and it does wonders...
After using it for the years it's suddenly aborted my broadcast in the middle and told me I had to pay for an upgrade. It could at least have given me a few warnings and a little grace that they were being greedy and wanted upgrade in order continue using the product.
great for a few days, useless after 2 weeks! bought the subscription and used for a few days, successfully testing rtmp to a VPS. I came to use it a few weeks later at an event, I didn't change a thing and it fails to connect.
I think you have an error. The advertising says a half hour free and a further half hour free with your logo. However on pressing broadcast, the software immediately asks for subscription with no free minutes. Tried re-installing, deleting user data, whatever, but I think you have entirely removed any free use - is this correct?
For a free live broadcasting app, it's hard to go past Larix. I've been using it to stream to Periscope Producer (High res Twitter Live) and it works brilliantly. It has a very simplistic and clean UI which I love, plus all the nitty gritty settings that you can choose from when setting up a broadcast for the first time. Comes with stabilisation and an excellent zoom and can stream to just about any platform. Have an issue? The team's quick in responding back and are very helpful! 5+ STAR RATING
can't remove watermark and docs are from an older version. used to use this all the time and only needed it for short streams.
I've used Larix for years and wanted to support the app development way before the introduction of subscription. Of course, development isn't free, and I get it that you have a family to feed. I would have gladly paid $9.99 if it was a one-time fee, but a subscription at that price is no way to go for me. On these words, farewell.
It was the best app until subscriptions were added. Now it's basically unusable for people who are not earning money from streaming / do private streams just for friends. I'm greatly disappointed. I'd understand a one time payment for lifetime use to help with development costs but subscriptions... I'm just not gonna pay it. It was good while it lasted. Gonna switch to other fork of this app which is FREE.
Have been using it for years without problem but today I started the app after some time without using it and now wants for me to pay for basic functions that were free before. At first I was willing to pay for a lifetime membership but after finding that it is $9,99 each month now that was out of question. Way too much money when I am the one paying all the server costs. Moving to another app now.
it runs well and I really like the more pro approach, especially the on screen volume as I used it for DJ livestreams. However a massive downside for me, was having to manually get the rtmp key for each stream, as well as not being able to cue up to start a scheduled one. if this was added I'd move away from Prism, however this has pushed me back to prism after just one stream, even after paying for the full version😌
Very cool app, worked great. I have a question: Via this app is it possible to CAPTURE a RTMP signal from another device (say a GoPro) and then output it as SRT to the internet? This app is amazing for phone streaming, but my phone's stabilization is bad compared to a GoPro, so I'm trying to get the GoPro working as nice as a broadcast straight from Larix. Thanks! Edit: Another really useful feature would be to show the real-time bitrate usage of the app in the notification bar.
Now features pick to zoom. The app is now perfect. It is suitable for professional use. The zoom is not fast enough for real-time zooming in live situations, but it provides a means to properly frame your shot. I no longer need to use external lenses. BTW, check out this company's other products and services. I have used on their wmspanel software and they are outstanding in quality and customer service.
Highly disappointed this went to an expensive subscription, now it's not much better for streaming than many of the other more robust apps out there with full company backing behind them. The lackluster dev response to these reviews is a joke too. You could have added tiers, added specific services for free, but you want money for what's honestly lackluster for us smaller streamers anyway. I'm absolutely out.
Decent app. Unacceptable change to a subscription service. I would be willing to purchase a lifetime license, but I will NEVER pay 9.99 a month. For such an app as this, a monthly subscription is totally unreasonable at any price more than $1/month. You're also more expensive than a competing app that offers more. I can obtain a much better streaming app with many more features for $80/yr. I'm very sorry you decided your product is worth more than it is.
This app is unusable unless you subscribe... This was a cute little app I could use as an extension to my stream when I had to step away from the PC, but now with the huge noticable text that cover the screen I will be deleting looking for another app .. hey here's a suggestion why not have the subscription for people who can pay and maybe cut down the broadcasting time for none subs but the text on screen is ridiculous... I wouldn't subscribe just because of how ridiculous it is.
By far the best way to stream out video and audio from the phone via RTMP or any other transport. I have only one wish... I wish it could detect and use my USB HDMI interface. Giving this app the ability to switch between all my cameras including the USB would make it quite possibly the best camera app on the market... Also giving it screen capture abilities would be nice but not as high a priority for me.
This is a 4 star app with one exception. $9.99 subscription for minor features. This is a very professional app. I realize app dev is not free and would be happy to support it with a couple of dollars a month even for no extra features. But my Church cannot afford that. Also if I understand correctly you will be limiting free streaming to 30 min. This seems unreasonable especially since to my understanding there in no server or bandwidth being used on your end. If so I will find another solution
I've used this now for a few weeks to stream our church service and have gotten positive feedback from people who have tuned in to the livestream. The only thing I would like to see is some indication of whether it is using the external mic or the built-in mic. I am feeding the sound to my phone from an aux port on our sound board and my Pixel 3a does not always detect the line plugged into the headphone jack as a microphone. So, the only way to tell is by monitoring the livestream on a separate device to see what it sounds like. It would be nice if there was some way to indicate which mic was being used for the audio. Or, a setting that forced it to use ONLY the external mic (rather than use external mic if available). Then, if I am not getting any sound level indication on the screen, I would know that it is not detecting the external mic. Thanks for the great app!
The way you've monetized the app I couldn't "turn off the premium features" enough to make the watermark go away and I ended up paying 10 dollars to broadcast one event because I was counting on this app to do my Livestream from my phone. Devs there are better ways to monetize than a monthly subscription and right now, as it stands, I'd rather look for an alternative than use this app again. I hope the $10 you got from me supports you, but you will not be getting more. It's just too expensive.
