I've tested a bunch of these base-building strategy games and Layla is one of the better ones in my opinion. The graphics look great, it runs smooth even on my older phone, and there's a ton of depth to the gameplay without being overwhelming. The clan battles and PvP raids are where it really shines - planning out attacks with your friends is a lot of fun. Sure, it has some of the typical free-to-play annoyances like long upgrade timers, but I found I could still make good progress without having to spend money. If you're into this genre, Layla is definitely worth a download.

Description

Been playing Layla for a couple months now. It’s basically a strategy game where you build up your own little village and then attack other players’ villages. Pretty addictive stuff if you’re into that kind of thing.

There’s a ton of stuff you can do – you can upgrade your buildings, train up different troops, and even join a clan to coordinate attacks with friends. And it’s got a ton of strategic depth but it’s not like super complicated or anything. Took me a while to figure some of it out but now I’m pretty into it.

Look, if you’re a fan of base-building and PvP strategy games, you’ll probably get a kick out of Layla. It’s not perfect – the upgrade times can get really long at higher levels and the ads can be annoying if you don’t pay. But overall it’s a pretty solid time-waster that’s worth checking out.
