Code for purchasing usually doesn't come through. Once I got it working (thus upping to 2 stars), Live Location works sometimes at best. Schedule times are meaningless. And you're supposed to have pass ready to display, but that takes FOUR button strokes MINIMUM. Seriously? Tupical if apps developed by people who don't actually use them.
Reviews for Le Pass
← Back to Le PassEDIT:This app is Worthless without the GPS tracking. Now with the new schedules it's even less accurate. And no, the "time marked in green" is NOT correct. Why couldn't they have just left the app alone??? This new one is glitchy and complicated, have to go through 700 unhelpful actions to get the info I want. Unhelpful user notices can't be deleted: no, the stop the app insists is the "closest" to my location is Not. And the "farther" stop has a bench, which I prefer.
Payment option defaults to Google Pay which... does not work. Unable to purchase multiple single rides in one transaction (especially bad for groups and families). Real-time tracking is way too clunky and yes I did watch the YouTube video that you should not have had to make because it should just show ALL of the busses/streetcars on the selected route by default for a number of practical reasons.
Great way to buy tickets. I don't usually have quarters. But it says it can tell you where the streetcar is, and it's usually wrong. You can't rely on that feature. Also, if there's a problem on the line or a route change, the site has no information. It routes you to other sites which don't provide any useful information. This seems like something which would be simple to fix.
pathetic, worthless, worse than nothing app! the new app eliminates showing the exact location of buses and street cars, as well as their movement. to me, this is the most useful info the app could possibly give, as you can better time/plan your trip. additionally, for me in my use, the bus arrival time at a stop was completely wrong by over 30 minutes. how in the world they deaigned & started operation of this app is just beyond me. for my use, it's actually far worse than using nothing at all!
Vacationed in NOLA for 3 days. Download the app, buy a Jazzy Pass, then the entire system is usable, all you have to do is show the screen to the driver/pilot. GREAT for the streetcars. Use their directions AYOR, because it didn't seem to believe I was giving precise location permission, which means my routes would not update as time passed. Recommend to any tourist; just be careful now.
It is still absolutely terrible. Even after months of "constantly improving" it. Bring back the live GPS tracking!!!! Your times highlighted green are so far from accurate, it's not even funny. If it's real time,, why I can't see the business? The older app was more accurate than this "approximate arrival" nonsense. Your service is unreliable to begin with. Now if we complain about something not showing up, you can just blame it on "oh, those times are just approximates". Figures....
The on-map display of real time bus location has been removed and replaced with just a time estimate. No more live tracking your bus on the route. You can only buy one single ride fare at a time, rather than purchase and store several on the app. These were features in the older app that were very useful, and now they are gone. The fact that you can order a Lyft from within the RTA app is just sad and self& defeating.
Ok, so sometimes we learn that we should wait and use a product before giving an opinion lol. This app has gotten easier to use however, there are a few things that need attention. 1. Add a button to allow the purchase if multiple tickets during one purchase like the last app. 2. I'm not sure if I missed this on the app someplace but add GPS tracking to the ferries. 3. If it's possible find a way to display how many cars are waiting in line at the ferry on each side of the river.
Update 2 post9/25 upgrades: The #1 benefit of the RTA app is that you can see where the buses are on the route. they do not appear to have plans to bring this option back despite user outcry for it's return. The green arrival time does not appear until 5-7 min before the bus is to arrive at the stop. It does not accommodate those who live 8-10 min or more away from the nearest stop the ability to plan when to leave. The bus is never on schedule for it's estimated times either. Still a bad app.
If I could come back every day and rate this app 1-star, I would. Terrible. New process is pointless. If you want to buy multiple passes, you have to do them one at a time. You also ACTIVATE them separately. And you can't track the location of the bus or streetcar anymore. Whats the point of getting rid of these features?!
This app is as useless as stale bread. Foremost in its problems is the inability to purchase more than one ticket at a time. Now I will have multiple transactions of 1.25 rather than 1 transaction for 7 or 10 dollars. Very inefficient. The app also does not let us track the bus so again, useless. And on top of all these unnecessary and wasteful changes, you still have some of the most rude bus operators I have ever encountered and I'm from NYC.
The app only allows you to purchase 1 ticket at a time - that costs you more in credit card fees and is a pain for customers who might prefer to have a few available in their wallet. I saw the alert that the bus location isn't available but that's something you should have resolved before launching the app. As someone who takes transit intermittently, the short timeframe on the transition from the previous app was horrible.
I used the old app a lot. The biggest perk was being able to track where the bus was at, because if it wasn't coming, it helped us save some time for alternate modes of transport. I will assume that because this app is new yall are still working on it (although this should be something you test out prior to launch). Unless I missed it, it seems like there was no real time tracking. If you bring that back, do make it easy, or literally make it automatic based on which line you pick/fav.
For all it's corporate art and sleek fonts nothing about this was smooth. Hour in and I still couldn't buy a pass, constant crashes when I put in my card. The integration of a third party banking app making it so every time I have to reput my information I have to wait 5 minutes for them to send a code which expires in 5 minutes. Fine cash it is. At least there's a real time tracker... No? So there's nothing of value in this app? Just keep the old app. It wasn't perfect but it was not this bad.
Clunky poorly functioning app. I missed the ferry yesterday because I could not figure out how to purchase a pass. I'm pretty tech savvy, but this is NOT user friendly. The payment kept defaulting to Google Pay, but every time I went to purchase, it returned an error. Have also seen many reports that you can't purchase/use multiple passes at a time. I haven't tested this, but if true, this is terrible for families. Please fix your app .
Not real happy that the ONLY way to purchase is to "Save" my payment method to the app. Thankfully I carry a 2nd card used for PayPal and other apps that I don't trust that only has a minimum balance. No way I would link my actual card to this!! Using the app for directions is useless! Couldn't find anything we were looking for. Several things we missed because they don't show up in search engine on the app. App in general was very confusing at first. Nothing to tell you how to find features.
Only useful if there are no issues. However, if a stop is closed, the info on which are closed are not reliably communicated (superbowl closed stops), bus drivers don't seem to follow set detours and you can end up waiting at a stop that is "open" but never get picked up. And if a bus has a detour, the tracking feature is useless as the busses are not tracked. Which makes it impossible to catch one.
Edit 9/26/22 Okay, this is feeling like an attack on both locals and tourists. Getting rid of certain bus lines and also changing certain routes has now made it difficult for a lot of us to get to work. Many of us work downtown and now without certain buses, we have to walk more. The Le Pass UI is awful and convoluted. No easy way to buy multiple tickets. There's no PROPER tracking on the map. Just throw this app out and bring back Go Mobile.
Only good for purchasing tickets. Nothing else. The location tracker barely works so you can't even plan when you should be at the bus stop, which defeats the main point of the app which is so that people don't have to get stuck in the rain or cold waiting for the bus. The buses are rarely on time (if they even bother showing up) so you constantly miss transfers. The schedule is constantly wrong, you are literally better off looking up bus routes on google maps. NOLA incompetency as a app
