Reviews for Leaf Spy Pro

Love this app BUT the latest Android update looks to have killed it with my OBDII running Wifi. It asks for the connection. Says connected, and then it goes back to 'retry in' so many seconds. It then just repeats the connection process after that has ended. Never had an issue before now

The app gives useful information about the battery health etc and also has value in being able to clear DTC codes. I had a parking brake problem that I fixed myself by adjusting the cable but the ebrake would only operate when these codes were cleared. Now the brakes are working normally again with no error messages on the dashboard having cleared the codes with this app. This avoided an expensive visit to a Nissan dealer to fix a minor issue so it's well worth it.

Keeps not sending any data to my server. Trying to use it to keep track of the car and its not exactly reliable. If I open the phone and app it works perfectly fine again. U gave it all the permissions I could on my android go cloud stratus phone.

great app gives excellent data on your leaf. would be good if you could make the wing mirrors auto fold closed and open when starting and switching off the car. it did that on a newer borrowed car when mine went in for a service. thanks for all your efforts!

Not as good as it was. The new navigation is terrible. My BT vgate iCar 1 OBD dongle used to work perfectly, but now gives me an error. Service view is fiddly to navigate to/from. My Leaf won't charge and I can't read errors any more! This is not good at all

I was previously disappointed with the LeafSpy Pro because it didn't work with the then current version of Android. That's no longer the case and I find it to be very useful. I purchase the leaf spy Pro and when it was installed it told me it's not ready for the latest versions of Android. I did a refund will wait to purchase it when it's ready for my version of Android, which is the latest version.

Great app for monitoring my 2020 Leaf Plus. Only wish it would get an update as the odo mileage is off on the exported CSV files and trip mileage too. (Seems to be a Nissan issue and not an app issue as even the Recurrent site has the mileage issue) But still 5 stars. Nothing else comes close. **** Recent update has broken my Dropbox integration. Shows that Dropbox has expired!

The good news is that the app works and shows a plethora of useful information and lets you change a decent number of hidden settings. However, I have some complaints. 1. It is quite astonishingly ugly. 2. It is surprisingly expensive: 3 times the price of Torque Pro, which is the comparable app for hybrids. 3. It doesn't integrate at all with Android Auto. This seems like an obvious thing to add. 4. The Lite version doesn't seem to exist in the store any more, which prevents try-before-buy.

I don't know what's going on. I bought pro and it will often glitch into leafspy lite so I uninstall and install all over again. can't find the folder that is saved all the logs so that's lost.

I purchased the LELink2 OBD2 dongle as recommended and LSP works nicely with it. I had issues at first where the dongle refused to speak to the app, but the developer replied to my email and helped me to diagnose what was wrong. In my case, I needed to have GSP location enabled while installing the app, which prompted a permissions request from Android. After uninstalling and re-installing the app a couple of times all has worked well. I only use the app to keep an eye on battery health overall.

Tis a good app although it would be much better if the main dial display was more customisable. One of the things that concerns me most is the battery temperature and I'd like to see it in the graphs.. I don't really need to know the 12v battery voltage in real-time. Still, is a very cool app!

Superb tool. Essential to have when buying a Leaf as battery health can vary from great to dire and there's no way to know which the battery of the car you're looking at is! Also a superb tool for those swapping to a larger battery as it will pair the new battery. (Although you still need a CAN bridge of course for a larger battery)

I can confirm that this app does work with a Galaxy S10 running Android 10, and a Konnwei KW902 OBD scanner. (2013 Gen 2 Leaf) UI isn't great, but all features seem to work well. Can be a little fiddly at time times to get it to pair, but turning Bluetooth off then on, closing and re opening the app and resetting the adapter seems to solve most issues.

Don't waste your money in either of the paid versions. I bought the recommended OBD2 device for the app but the device only connected twice to my phone. Tried deleting then reinstalling the app many times but nothing. Absolutely no support from the developer and it looks like the app hasn't been updated for 2 years now. Google say it's against their terms and conditions to refund the app but the developer doesn't reply. I repeat, don't waste your money, stick with the version.

Allows me to lock the doors as soon as I move the car out of Park (or over a certain speed) and let's me permanently turn off the tinnitus-inducing drive sounds. Other tweaks are handy too. There are other things I'd like, but if Nissan don't make them available, there's little an app can do!

This is a great app for reporting statistics on your Nissan Leaf. The recent update means that it now is more fully featured for 2018 and later models. There are loads of stats reported, the most useful being battery health. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the supporting documentation is a bit sparse. But I definitely recommend this for Leaf owners. Just remember that you will need to purchase a separate OBD2 unit to read the car's data and connect to the app.

EDIT: Feature request: It would be nice to have a graph of the battery temperature over time. This would allow correlation with battery temperature and driving habits etc. Nice app, I now have a silent car no beeps or other noises...so nice! Wondering if it's possible to have doors unlock on both conditions park or ignition off. I don't always press park before turning the car off.

Love the app! Pretty please add the ability to lock the car when turning the ignition on. When waiting in the car I often cycle the ignition with the parking brake on to turn off the headlights. This results in unlocking the doors, but a new setting would make the locking/unlocking seamless in all situations! Alternatively, a setting to make "off" on the light stalk turn the lights completely off (without the rigamarole) would be even better :)

Worked fine in my 2021 eNV 200 using a Konnei wifi dongle. Yes, it does have a geeky, clunky interface but it can do very useful things, such as display the precise condition of your battery (Nissan charges ££ for this) and it can turn off those stupid charging bleeps. Yes, it is expensive, but then it doesn't farm any of your data!! Essential if you are buying a used Leaf or eNV 200.

Like so many others, my obd2 scanner works fine with every other app (Inc programming ones for another car), but not with this one. Plus there was no way to even test since this version doesn't have a "lite" free version. So an expensive waste. Please don't publish apps where people have to guess if their device will work or not. And if you do, ensure you have a way for people to test. Fix your product.
