I've tested a bunch of plant ID apps and LeafSnap is one of the better ones. The database is really comprehensive and the AI is pretty accurate at identifying most common plants and trees. The interface is simple and easy to use too. The only downsides are that it can sometimes struggle with more obscure species, and the ads can get annoying if you don't pay for the premium version. But overall it's a really solid app that works well for casual plant enthusiasts like me.

Description

Been using LeafSnap Plant Identification for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you take a photo of a plant and it’ll tell you what kind of plant it is. Pretty solid app if you’re into gardening or just curious about the plants around you.

Here’s what you do: you just snap a pic of a leaf, flower, or whatever, and the app will identify it for you. There’s also a plant database with info and photos – it’s pretty cool to learn more about the different species. And the smart plant finder is handy if you’re trying to figure out what that weird shrub in your backyard is.

Look, if you’re into nature and plants, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ID isn’t 100% accurate sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want a quick way to learn about the flora around you.

The app does a good job at identifying potential plants from just a photo. Some of the plants do not have much info attached to them at this point. I...

Pretty good app. I realize the developers need to get paid but I'm having a hard time getting past the persistent and very annoying ads. Every single time you select...
