Reviews for League of Comic Geeks

For the past few months I've been using this app because it's just the thing I wanted to keep track of my read comics. Overall it's fantastic but I do wish the mobile version was caught up with the web version. Edit: Devs replies to my comment asking what features I'd like to see. Well for one on the web you're allowed edit comic information and wait for approval. I also find it odd that you can't subscribe to Pro in the app. You would think out of all places it would be here but nope.

This app is almost flawless. It is like a 9.5/10 only down to small details that I'm sure they are working on. The free version of the app is beyond what I want to use it for, but because it's so good, I may go pro just to support them. If you are looking for a comic organizer, value assessor, and release scheduler, look no further. And that is absolutely not where it stops. Enjoy

Ever since the most recent update, the app struggles and lags then crashes if I scroll and/or click through things too fast. However, I am not going through the app particularly quickly. I didn't actually wanna rate this app low, because prior to the most recent update it was great. But now I have to use it at a snail's pace for it to even be functional for me. EDIT: The app keeps getting worse and worse and it's near unusable at this point. I cannot contact support through the app either.

Really needs an option to get a notification on the day a comic in your subscription is released. I have to set a separate alert in another app and hope the date doesn't change. They do send an email every Tuesday, but that seems slow and bizarre to do. It does tell you if you have the app open, but that defeats the point of notifications. Just a popup on your phone like any other app on release day would be good.

Honestly, above and beyond what I wanted out of an app like this. So glad I found it. Just for the sake of transparency, I'd say the only tiny critique I'd have is I wish I could sort searches by year and the barcode scanner doesn't always work for me (but maybe I'm doing it wrong?) But those are so small compared to how much I genuinely love this app.

Great for a free app. However, the app says the barcode scanner needs permission from my camera. I checked camera permissions and Comic Geeks permissions, and it is set correctly. The app still says it needs permission. I un-installed and reinstalled. I turned my phone off and turned it back on. No change.

Pretty cool app, albeit sow and buggy. Don't like that it subscribes you to an email listing that you can't unsubscribe from easily. That's very annoying. The "account settings" section doesn't seem to work for me. Not sure why. It would also be great if I could edit tag names without having to do each individually.

I've been trying to bulk scan comics and no matter what I do, it eventually bugs out and adds a bunch (like 15-20) of incorrect comics (usually from a similar series but wrong number) and trying to remove the incorrect ones also removes the correct ones. Way too finicky/sensitive to be useful. Guess I'll keep looking for an easy way to catalog my comics.

Like the app, but some issue can't be found. After adding most of my collection I have a small stack of big name character issues that can't be found on the app. Superman, Fantastic four, Dr. Strange. Was able to add most of my FF and Superman, though. Odd. Wish there was more entries for short run story arcs or limited series. (I.e. FF v. X-Men #1-4). Overall good app, just can't add my entire collection. Also, wish there was a price guide involved.

The app itself is pretty good at keeping track of future purchases and release dates. Though it is incredibly frustrating trying to log into my account on the app and my computer. I log into my app without issues, but then logging into the same account on PC tells me the password is incorrect. EDIT: Resolved. Was a password manager issue. Sorry, leaving this here to hopefully help someone who might run into the same issue.

I like the website. I also like the app's potential. I just installed it, and whenever I go back (hit the back button/gesture) it stops responding to touch, I need to restart it. I'm sure it's just a bug, but frustrating. Update: got a response very quickly - on a Saturday night - not less, so I'm adding a star. I am indeed on a OnePlus. Hoping this gets fixed soon.

Decent App, Major Bugs Though. The barcode scanner is a useful feature, but it only works about 25 percent of the time. It could not scan DC comics TPBs, which is just pitiful. Search function on Android is also very poor and needs serious work. If they could get the app working a bit better that would be great, but for now I recommend using the website instead. It's a lot less buggy.

Been on this app for a minute and it's mostly great! Notifications for pulls would be nice and the search function on the app being mostly worthless make it 4 stars. BUT website access on mobile makes it easy to find the back issues you're trying to add just very annoying having to switch out of the app. Also, I like being able to download a csv of my collection. tl;dr: FOR A FREE APP IT'S PRETTY GREAT but there a few tiny things that are annoying.

Great app, while there's always room for improvement. Certain little features, like half-stars, sorting and rating by run or by story arc, or marking/rating a trade automatically marking each of the issues contained, would be nice, and the search function can be a bit finicky for finding the issue or story you actually want, especially with punctuation. Otherwise, it's still easily the best app of its kind, and my preferred way of cataloguing my collection.

Can be glitchy at times & they took away option to mark a comic both read & want. I hope they bring it back in next update because it was helpful when you wanted more than 1 of a comic. Also a lot of comics variants don't have covers. And when you use search it's very picky how you have to type it. Other than a few other minor things this a great app.

there's a lot of books missing from its database. sometimes, you have to type it in physically rather than using the barcode scanner. it would be cool if there was a way we could upload unknown books to its database. it would be a lot more engaging, and the app would benefit from it. other than that, it has been a great app for cataloging my small, start out collection.. I like that it adds up each book into a total estimation of how much my collection may be, and ads don't bother me at all.

Great app to catalog, track, and review your comics and new releases! The community is a particularly fun place for discussing topics and getting reccomendations. I have always found it to be an extremely respectful and fun place to engage with others. My only major issue is that I can't bulk edit fields in the "My Details" tab (especially Purchase Store, Price Paid, and Storage Box), and I can't jump to the bottom or middle of long issue lists. It proves rather cumbersome in many instances.

Love this app! It lets you do a ton of stuff without requiring any money. I love how it tracks what I own, and what I've read and haven't read. Super useful! Unfortunately in the latest update the barcode scanner seems to be broken, which I use quite a bit for adding new stuff to my collection. Hope it gets fixed soon! Edit: The barcode scanner was fixed shortly after I posted this, I just forgot to update my review. Thank you!

This is the best app to track your collection, I appreciate how full featured it is. The feature that allows you to pull comics with a participating shop is very useful. I wish the icon would focus on the orange box with white background & not zoom out to include a blue background, makes it seem dated. I have had a lot of success using the barcode scanner too. My only gripe is that I have some friends who also use this platform and I can't view their collections on the app, only on the website.

An essential tool for any collector, lapsed fan, or newcomer to comic books. This app is so deep. You want to know the reading order of a series that came out 25 years ago, someone made a list. If you want to see what books are coming out next month, there is a release calendar. If you want to find a local comic shop, you can search the area. This app has helped me catalog my collection, list books I'm looking for, and helps me minimize buying books with overlapping issues. It's great!
