very early into the app but seems like a good app for a complete noob. I like that I can watch a short ad for access to the next level of training rather than pay but if the content remains as good as it has been at this early stage I will probably pay for the pro version. I also like that the devs respond quickly to feedback. good job devs.
Reviews for Learn Ethical Hacking: HackerX
← Back to Learn Ethical Hacking: HackerXJesus christ. Installed the app but didnt have time to work on it as i was away, and right from the start it showed screens upon screens to make me buy it, in addition to constant notifications afterwards. Got a couple of normal notifications prompting me to work on the lessons which is fine, and then i got the review one. I had to leave one and now i am uninstalling. Edit: Cherry on top the automated response
This app is stunning and fantastic. I really admire it and the teachings go straight to the point. It throws more light on where I don't understand. I downloaded the app In my laptop and I've been using it for like one week, and the next day I wanted to open the app and it was taking a lot of time to open. I even reinstall it and still the same thing. Pls what's going on its really frustrating me and I don't wanna lose this app. Pls there should be an immediate effect on this. Thanks
The app is good, albeit it teaches you the basics of the basics in hacking, which if you are new to this, then I guess its fine. You can watch adverts to bypass the payment, however, once you complete the tests, you have to pay the Pro Lifetime which currently is £10 else you do not get the certificate showing that you have passed the test.
So I genuinely like how the app is built, and layed out, but it has the same issue that a lot of courses have, where the lack of context and explanation to what and why you are doing leaves lots of room for confusion. I'm in no way a beginner in the world of coding, but the first project failed to mentioned bash permissions, leading me to an permission error. One quick search explained the issue. It left me untrusting. It's marketed for complete beginners, which just creates confusion.
The HackerX course has lots of outdated instructions and tools. Many of the instructions are vague or incomplete and you have to run a lot of it through AI in order to get the correct scripting or steps. Support was initially quick to respond but had to pass me to another team and I haven't received any updates or replies when I reach out asking for help. I would not recommend paying for this even if it is heavily discounted.
right off the bat, easy and quick to impress. seems like a good deal, maybe I'll just learn something useful! if you're waiting for something to jump out at you screaming "Learn ethical hacking here", and haven't tried this app, you were looking hard enough. Stop waiting and start learning, get certs and get out there and make so.e ethical money already. Thanks to the devs for bringing this to the fingertips of the world!
awesome! these are the apps that I like to use, I'm feeling my brain expanding with these first lessons. I want to learn everything but I'm afraid I may not because of plan.
it's very good it tells the basics of hacking but there is ad issue like if you are doing a lesson you would have to watch a ad or pay premium which is around 500 for full course but I have not issue with ad as it's only 30 seconds only
wow!! this app/course , is more then amazing. gives great lessons and made me understand how the criminal element uses UN-ETHiCAL hacking of our own info against us ! learning a lot to protect myself and others ! buy it , take the course. well worth it !
Love it! Great easy-to-use app! Free and Low-cost LIFETIME Pro. I haven't had a computer in many years, until now. I came across the app and figured, why not? I could use a refreshing and relearn. The virtual on Chromebook's COS, took me more than a few minutes in terminal, but that was on me for going that:~$ route Also found displeasure than pleasure; in a pro giveaway notification at 2:30am for "Anniversary Month" — Humorous.ELF with the non-functioning claim button. LOL! Good one!
So far it's a really interesting app. I'm just going over the basics but inorder to create an app for everyone you must cover the basics first to make sure everybody is on the same page. I will also review when I get to the end of the "free" part of the app and let you guys know how much was information/techniques was really offered as far as "Hacking" goes.
This is a great app for getting some of the basics, I'd love to see more modules added as well as some more advanced topics. I feel like I made a good investment with getting the lifetime subscription, but I just wish there was more in the app. I did notice too as I was going through some of the lessons in the app, some of the information is no longer up to date as of May 2024 - specifically in the AI section as some of the resources are no longer in existence such as Worm gpt.
This is a great introductory app so far. I have been auditing this and similar platforms so that I can recommend them rather than create my own course or explain basic concepts over and over again. Let's be honest. The discount is clearly price anchoring. I don't think they ever intended to charge over $300 for this. But the "95% off" rate seems quite fair for the information provided so far.
LOVE! So far, so good. I find ethical hacking to be almost a necessity when one is trying to learn code from scratch. I use this simultaneously with other coding lit. Therefore, when I'm studying the many unique types of coding languages and certain things seem a bit confusing OR, for me, easy to forget, I'm finding that this app not only teaches ethical hacking but in many cases, sums things up that were otherwise difficult for me to understand. 👍👍👍
So, I used this app for a little bit, but then I realized in order to actually get somewhat far in any of the lessons, you have to pay. There's a little bit of interesting content for the first week that you use the app, but then there's nothing left unless you pay. The REALLY annoying thing about this app though, is that the app CONSTANTLY puts out notifications on your phone throughout every day. I turned off all of the notifications in the settings, but IT STILL GIVES ME A TON OF THEM.
Going through the intro lesson, it seems well written and informative. However I haven't had a chance to go into it much lately and what ruins this app is its CONSTANT notifications about a "limited time" license discount. There are settings in the app to disable notifications but it doesn't work. It still sends 1 to 2 push notifications every single day. It's not really a discount if it's permanent. I may have considered it without the annoying notifications though.
I just started my first course and so far I like it! it seems very understandable, the only downside is that in order to gain access to all the courses AND certificates you have to have the "PRO" version which was offered to me as an anniversary month special of $9.99. It seems as though you can gain access to the courses by simply watching an ad before each course, but idk if that unlocks the certificates because I haven't gotten that far yet! either way $9.99 seems fair.
I paid for the app, Since it gives Certifications it's a fairly cheap option for learning Ethical Hacking. the courses is very well explained. They teach you alot, I honestly recommend it. Its a great base to build upon or to Refresh your knowledge. It's almost a how to guide. With how they teach it's easy to follow, there's no fluff, everything is explained.
As a current cybersecurity college student, someone I know saw this app and said I could try it out. Some of the information is helpful, but I don't think it's worth paying for it. I highly doubt the certs actually mean anything when starting your career. If you have some time and don't mind watching an ad after each short lesson, then I'd say go for it. You can screenshot the important stuff and refer back to it later, or you can watch a 10+ hour dedicated YouTube video that provides more info.
