Very slow, doesnt give helpful feedback. doest always respond to clicks. underestimates your current level to make it appear that they improved your language learning. I came in certified b2. it says my Spanish level is a1. Esta es una táctica deshonesta para mejorar sus números porque no pueden actuar sin hacer trampa. Pagué por esto, pero cancelaré mi suscripción a esta estafa. ..!.,
Reviews for Learn Languages* : Pingo AI
← Back to Learn Languages* : Pingo AII paid for a month to try it out. I'm already seeing many issues studying German. There's barely any grammar feedback, the tutor is way too slow for someone on a B1 level. Would be nice if there was an option to speed it up. Also the audio started lagging terribly after like 10 mins of use making the app pretty much unusable. I don't think I'll be continuing the subscription with these issues
Thailand ranks #8 in tourist destinations for 2024, above even Japan...and yet it's absolutely mind-boggling that it's deliberately passed over by most language apps. I would gladly pay for a lifetime subscription for an app that would do this for me, but I guess I'm stuck with ChatGPT Plus, Hellotalk (lifetime VIP), and Drops (lifetime subscription). Will reconsider my review once Thai becomes available.
well, the app asked me to rate it the second I opened it for the first time, so we're already off to a bad start. I was only given the chance to do one 2 minute lesson before it told me I had to buy the subscription to continue. seriously? I don't even know the features or rhythm of this app to spend money on it wouldn't recommend, clearly just money hungry without giving anyone the opportunity to actually try the app for free first
probably the first time ever rating an app with just one star but I had to. since I saw it on YouTube I wanted to try it out myself and guess I only did a little but then I tried to do another lesson and guess the app won't let me do another lesson. even though it can be a perfect app for learning the pronunciation of words in each language and also learning to not stutter much that issue makes me rate the app with just one star... if it ain't free, don't make it free
A very fun app to learn a language. Why I'm giving it three stars is because there is a 30 minute limit to the lesson. I wish it was unlimited time but the ai is great and understands me well and answers any questions I have for the language I am learning. I will update my rating once there is no time limit for lessons in app.
The role play features are very helpful and I love that you can add your own vocabulary and divide the words into learning and mastered. However, the vocabulary feature really needs a shuffle mode. I often find that I can remember words based on the order they are in, which isn't real learning.
Nice interaction, but it keeps on crashing whenever I try to review past lessons and related vocabulary. When logging in again, I am readily logged out once or twice after the app starts to run idle, 'having to restart the phone to start the app again, and start a new lesson to avoid new crashes :-( Downgrading again the app. After being advised to get a version supposed to fix issues, I could not log in for 24h00. I finally managed to practice 2 days in a row until the sign-in failed AGAIN !!!
I'm a paying user. As a beginner learner I really appreciate this app helps to prepare me for basic conversations, I could take all the time I needed to think and reply. But I'm really frustrated whenever it starts to lag during mid conversation, and the only way to fix it is to close the app and restart the whole lesson again. Also it would be great if it can run in the background.
I purchased the premium a day ago,but I'm not satisfied with the app at all. It is too slow and sometimes it disconnects even with the stable network,I am writing this because I'm so disappointed after buying the premium version,I think it's waste of money too, @PingoAI kindly resolve the bugs in the app so I can practice my language
I have a 1 month subscription and I’m currently learning German. The app is great, but the grammar feedback should be more detailed, it only highlights one incorrect sentence. Also, the convo disconnects frequently without any apparent reason, which causes the conversation history to be lost. I would consider paying for a yearly subscription if these issues were addressed.
It seems nice, but I accidentally clicked on a topic I didn't wish to discuss about and left the lesson, but when I went back to click on it, I was paywalled and completely locked out from starting a new lesson or even continuing the lesson I had started. This is really frustrating, please at least allow the user to be able to continue the lesson they started. Also, the price of 15 dollars a month is absurd for an app that you barely have time to get familiar with.
It's a really good app, especially for broke students like me who can't afford some courses/don't have time for that. However, I can only have one free trial, and after that I have to subscribe to almost every feature (except for learning flashcards). The subscription is too pricey for an app I'm still getting used to. It's a great concept but honestly I have to say the pricing disappointing.
The AI was able to teach some vocabulary in Dutch, though I do think that there is still a lot of room for improvement. I mean, when it asked me if I wanted to switch roles during the "greetings" vocabulary, I just said "Sure" and it registered a long sentence in Dutch that I have no idea what it even meant according to the transcript at the end.
Smart AI. I can speak and understand Spanish but in order to flex that muscle, I needed to practice actual conversations. because I don't speak it with actual people I was lacking consistency. This app is very cool, it understands my broken Spanish and corrects me when I try to cheat in pronouncing my words. I spend about 30 - 60 minutes a day and I'm leveling up. The role playing is awesome as well, it truly helps with conversation. I haven't tried slang yet but I don't want that anyway.
Would really like to try it out, but the trial is beyond limited. It's 1 bit that has you repeating a few phrases, that I didn't even get to finish because I had to respond to a message. It stopped the conversation and wants me to subscribe for $15 a month after practicing 3 phrases for 2 minutes. Might be an amazing app, but the trial is so limited that I don't feel comfortable spending the money.
So far this is so good! You need to have slight understanding first as you won't be able to do things like read Korean unless you've studied before. I just really wish the app worked with Thai. I'm sure it's much much more complex to get correct with the tones and grammar, but that would be so cool. I wish I could use a program like this to improve my beginner skills in Thai. 👏
I would give this app five stars, but unfortunately, when you review the flashcards, particularly vocab coach, it always gets it wrong when it comes to voice recognition, and when you use the quick flashcards, sometimes it just gives you the answer on one side of the flashcard, so it doesn't make sense. The explanations for the grammar could be a little bit more in-depth. Also, when I get ot right, sometimes it says I'm wrong. Fix these problems and I'll give you 5 stars.
NUX was filled with upsells. let me use the product THEN upsell me. Trial was extremely limited. Something broke on the first response in the first conversation and when I came back in, I was paywalled. Doesn't really give me any sense of what the app will be like. I feel like this has promise but user should get a day or three to really get hooked. Not going to fork out the price of a streaming svc for something I can't get a sense of.
I was really enjoying the app. I need to improve my Italian. I'm already proficient, but rusty. I liked it enough to do a trial sub. But not $60/per month. And of course you save annually. But the trial was far too limiting to plunk down half my monthly cable bill to see if it worked out. I don't have that kind of disposable income.
