I’ve been using Learn to Read – Duolingo ABC for a couple months now. It’s basically a reading app for kids from preschool to first grade. Basically, you get these bite-sized lessons and games that teach the alphabet, sight words, phonics, and all that good stuff. The stories and activities are pretty engaging – kids won’t even realize they’re learning, it’s that fun.
Here’s what you do: there are over 700 reading lessons you can work through, and the app personalizes it for your child’s level. And you’ve got multi-sensory stuff like tracing letters, drag-and-drop exercises, and more. There’s also mini-games sprinkled in to keep it interesting. And the whole thing is designed by the same team behind the Duolingo language app, so you know it’s quality.
Look, if you’re looking for a fun way to get your young kids reading, this is definitely worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the ads can get a little annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job of making reading practice enjoyable. Definitely recommended if you’ve got little ones learning to read.
