Lemonade is fine as long as all you need to do is prove that you have insurance. If it can't be done through the app with no help though, you're out of luck. For instance, I got a new bank card. I couldn't get the app to accept it, and emails went unanswered until the policy finally terminated (supposedly because of unwillingness to pay). Couldn't ever get any help actually getting my bank card on the account though, and there's no ability to actually talk to anyone for any reason, ever.
Reviews for Lemonade Insurance
← Back to Lemonade InsuranceMisleading. App doesn't work well. Switched from GEICO for the price, then found out that price was for liability only. They said oh just go in the app to adjust coverage. Well, you can't. I can't only view and cancel the policy. Now I can't even drive my car until I am able to adjust my policy. Support is fast but not useful so far. Edit: I have reached out several times. Now being told due to wildfires can't change. First was told location services which is on. Back to GEICO unfortunately.
This app never works. And by never, I mean that it has properly opened for me (under 10 seconds) 2 times in 12 months. Uninstall/reinstall doesn't help. A brand new phone didn't help. A restart of the phone didn't help. Before I wrote this I uninstalled and reinstalled (again) As I write this review, the app is stuck on the main title page with a pink line for going on 3 minutes. Very disappointed in the supposed ease I was lead to believe it provided. I am cancelling this insurance asap.
I had there insurance and paid for it. Then when it was time to pay my next month I get email there is a problem with my payment. I could not understand why because the money was in my account. I logged into the app and I tried to change my card and it kept saying card was not good or declined. So I called the. And was told they do not take pre paid cards. WHAT? it was same card they took for down payment. The guy said " dont you have a friend. I cancelled. Very bad experience.
It's too simple that all the basic things you want to take advantage of you can't like paying your policy early for the month or for the rest of the term or managing multiple accounts. Like these are options that people need. False advertising on the musical instruments coverage... it only covers instruments like harps and guitars. But it didn't mention that when I purchased it. So crazy. I'm swapping due to better account options. Gotta figure out how to cancel.
This is so annoying to use, it's a bunch of bots in a text message style system that moves slowly and there is NO desktop option. I did not want to install an app, and the way this app is designed just proves why. It would be infinitely faster to have a desktop form where I could access my hard drive, copy and paste items, and switch windows quickly, instead I get this nightmare. Literally, this makes me want to pay more somewhere else.
I've been using the app for a while now, no problems there. Had a very competitive rate for the coverage offered, and I was satisfied. Never actually needed to make a claim. Just checked the app and apparently my monthly premium has doubled and I was charged at the new premium, instead of the previously listed rate, with the only explanation being that I have a "short credit history", and that my credit type is "not prefered". And of course it was automatically deducted. Looking at new insurance
Was going fine until they cancelled my policy out of the blue. I used lemonade because I thought it was faster/less effort than other providers. I was willing to pay a premium for that. It turned out to be the opposite. We started a back and forth over email, lemonade kept asking for more documents and pictures of the house. After a couple weeks they told me their underwriters had to cancel the policy without explanation. If lemonade isn't cheaper or easier whats the point?
Don't get me wrong, Lemonade has a pretty fair price for monthly renter's insurance and I appreciated that they reduced my price a little bit this past year. However, there's some kind of a glitch with the app not opening. And when I do get to a sign-in screen, it keeps saying something went wrong and that the "lemonade went sour." I can't even get to the user interface to be able to review my policy or to make changes or see anything. I updated the app too and nothing is working. Fix this!
Something is really wrong with this app. For the last few months, everytime I open the app, the AI tells asks me to finish setting up my account and it just gets stuck there without any progress. I cant access my policy neither can I do anything else on the app, except navigating to the settings to log off and update my payment. I have tried reinstalling the app without any results. So frustrating!
I have been having problems with this app for months. I can make it to the login in page, but once I enter my one time pass code, I get a message saying "something went wrong". I have tried uninstalling multiple times and even tried on a different device, all had the same issue. Contacting support didn't work either. I was told to try what I had already done, and after I said that I had done that, support quit responding to me. Wouldn't recommend this app for insurance.
Just wanted to try this out because progressive is expensive and the reviews are great. But was disappointed to see that my 98 bug can't be covered because y'all don't cover cars over 20 years old, I wish there was something in the description that had said something along those lines, could of saved me wasting time to download the app for nothing. Most people have newer cars but for those that have cars born in the 90s or before like mine I hope this helps.
Had been a customer for years. 1st with renters insurance, then with home. Out of nowhere, after 7 years of being a customer in total and NEVER having a claim, during the renewal period for the house coverage they decided they needed a whole slew of things addressed, things that weren't issues at all the 2 years prior. It seemed like they just didn't want to cover me anymore, and made up problems that cost 1000s of $ to fix. They'll take your money and make up reasons to no longer cover you.
The App is bad, VERY BAD, and it will affect your premium. For car insurance, Don't contract it with lemonade. i have been using them for 4 months, however I will go back to nationwide. i dont recommend it for car insurance since their app sucks, and they track how/when/who drives through the app, which they use to calculate your premium. as the app is bad, your premium keeps going up. for instance, i started at $900 for 2 cars, after 4 months, they said it will go up to almost $1800.
Very bad customer service. hard to get a response for any queries. there is a bot (Maya) that is capable of doing some things but limited with how it's being trained(data). The company boasts about being unique however this means certain things that work seamlessly with other mainstream insurance doesn't work here , for example getting on a call with a rep. they overestimate the capabilities of the Bot. one should seriously think before switching to the Internet based insurance.
Complete scam, avoid it at all costs. Especially if you're shopping for cheaper insurance. They promised and guaranteed lower prices than the insurance I was currently using over the phone. Bill comes, it's over $100 dollars more. Customer service does not care, they jist resend you the bill with whatever complaint you have. AVOID, it's not cheaper, it's a pay trap
It's probably the worst insurance app I've ever used. The assistant thing is extremely slow and never has the options that you need, even the super obvious ones. For example it's impossible to add a car to the policy, which is one of the most basic thing a car instance should be able to do. Filling a claim also goes through the chat assistant, and it's incredibly painful, it takes ages to fill in (a form would 100x better). Really sad that they bought Metromile, their app was awesome.
I enabled all the permissions it asked for and the app said everything was good to go, but then I got an email a month later that said they were never actually enabled and now my car insurance premium is going to go up to over $300 next month. And every time I hit the "activate and save" link in the email, it just takes me to a page that says "something went wrong." I have no idea if the app is working or not. Super fun.
Been using them for a year or more but this app is absolutely crazy. I didn't have the money to renew my pet insurance policy this time around (I paid annual amount). So now when I open the app it's stuck in chat mode with the digital assistant trying to get me to add a new payment card. I just want to view my policies and the home screen and it doesn't let me access any of it. like they want yearly amount NOW and I can't do anything even look at my renter's policy because I'm imprisoned by Maya
managing my policy has been very easy. I've had a few mishaps with transfers of my loan and lemonades always been quick to respond. The app itself has a fairly easy to navigate login and the user interface is easy to navigate. I wish there was an option to connect or learn more as I have add-ons that aren't listed that I have questions about. The app doesn't have a great way to actually contact the company for those questions.
