So here's my take on Letter Tiles for Learning. I've tested a bunch of educational apps and this one's pretty good for what it does. The hands-on letter tile gameplay is engaging and the fact that it aligns with popular reading/spelling curriculums is a plus. On the downside, the lack of audio feedback is a bit of a letdown, and it can get repetitive after a while. But if you're looking for a simple, no-frills way to work on phonics and word building, this is a pretty solid option.

Description

Been using Letter Tiles for Learning for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you play around with letter tiles to build words, break them into syllables, and hear the sounds of the phonograms. Pretty solid app if you’re into educational kids’ games.

Here’s what you do: you pick your program (All About Reading or All About Spelling) and the lesson number you’re on, and the right letter tiles show up. You can drag and drop them to make words, or tap on them to hear the sounds. There’s also a mode where you can divide words into syllables – that’s pretty cool. And the app has all the phonograms and word parts from the lesson plans, which is useful.

Look, if you’re homeschooling or helping a kid learn to read, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the lack of audio is kind of a bummer – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out.

Not sure why I was able to purchase if I can't use it on my device. I can't even get a refund. Not happy at all.
