So here's my honest take on Lexis Cam, Home security app. I've tested a bunch of home security apps and this one's pretty good. The live video is decent quality and the motion detection works well to alert you to any activity. It's easy to set up and connect to cloud storage like Google Drive or Dropbox. The timer feature is also handy for scheduling recordings. On the downside, the motion sensitivity can be a bit finicky and the app interface is a little basic. But for a free app, it's a pretty solid option if you want to turn an old phone into a home security camera.

Description

I’ve been using the Lexis Cam, Home security app for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you turn an old Android phone into a security camera. Pretty solid if you’re into home monitoring and stuff like that.

Here’s what you do: you can set up motion detection to get alerts when something’s moving around. And there’s also an acoustic noise detection mode for using it as a babyphone. And you can set a timer to have it record at certain times. It takes some fiddling to get it set up right, but it works well once you figure it out.

Look, if you’re worried about home security or just want to keep an eye on your pets, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the motion detection can be a bit touchy sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you need a simple home cam.
