Been messing around with Likee for about a month now. It’s basically another short video app – yeah, kinda like TikTok – where you can scroll through endless clips and make your own stuff. The main thing that caught my eye was all these wild video effects they’ve got. Pretty addictive once you get into it.
So here’s what you can do: scroll through tons of 15-60 second videos (the usual dance trends, comedy skits, that kind of thing), or make your own with these built-in effects. There’s like a million filters and AR effects to play with – some are actually pretty cool. And you’ve got your basic editing tools too – adding music, cutting clips, that sort of thing. The app tries to show you stuff based on what you like, and honestly, it does a decent job.
Look, if you’re already deep into TikTok, you might find this pretty similar. But the effects and filters are where Likee kinda stands out. It’s definitely targeted at a younger crowd – lots of teens and early 20s folks on here. Not gonna lie, there’s some cringey content to wade through, but once the algorithm figures out what you’re into, it gets better. Worth trying if you’re into making creative videos or just want something new to scroll through.

Here's my honest take after testing a bunch of short video apps - Likee's trying really hard to compete with TikTok, and it's doing... okay? The video effects are actually pretty impressive, and that's probably the main reason to give it a shot. I've found the community's a bit smaller than TikTok's, which means less content variety, but also maybe a better chance of getting noticed if you're creating stuff.
The thing that bugs me is how aggressive they are with the whole coin system and virtual gifts. Like, we get it, you need to make money, but it feels a bit pushy sometimes. And the amount of ads is kind of ridiculous if you're not paying. Still, for what it is, it works pretty well and the video quality's solid.
