So here's my take on Lineman's Reference - XFMR Lab. I've tested a bunch of educational apps and this one's up there. It's super comprehensive in terms of transformer info and the interactive features are really well done. And the virtual meters and transformer cutaways are especially cool. That said, the interface does take some getting used to. And while the quiz mode is nice, I wish there were more premade quizzes to choose from. But overall, it's a pretty darn good app if you're into this kind of thing.

Description

Been using Lineman’s Reference – XFMR Lab for a couple months now. It’s basically a super detailed and interactive app all about transformers. Whether you’re new to the trade or a seasoned pro, this thing can teach you a ton.

Here’s what you can do: there’s a working voltmeter, ohmmeter, and rotation meter to play with. You can even open up transformers, see the windings, and watch fuses blow under certain conditions. And tons of cool features to explore. It’s got a quiz mode too where you can build custom quizzes for yourself or your team.

Look, if you’re into anything electrical or just want to learn more about transformers, you’ll probably get a lot out of this app. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a little clunky at times – but overall it’s a pretty solid learning tool. Worth checking out for sure.

No secondary references and doesn't help you to identify what is actually wrong
